However I could not find any info on the required cost of such application. I am ready to explore this option immediately.

Baba bros, just look around u and count how many people that can't communicate in proper English but are quite fluent in pidgin.
Even american English is colloquial English which is also pidgin, but see how they adapted it for their use.
Pidgin trust me is more widely spoken and even closer to our local languages.

I beg to differ on the bolded, no language is lower to any language. As a sociologist by training, I will tell u language is culture and culture is language. No culture is lower to any culture. I believe u did not mean @bolded in any vain manner.

Pidgin cud actually make us understand better, but it will not solve our problems. It will even create more of ts own in the long run.

How can u explain to an illiterate that it is possible for man to go to the moon and even live there if not by building his knowledge through formal education. But u must please understand that the failure of our educational system is one of the very major root causes of the lacuna we are in as a country.
U can't build a country without an educated populace. Even majority of the supposed educated Nigerians are either undereducated or highly miseducated. That is why things are this bad in our country.
We need to effectively tackle the challenge of our very inefficient educational system by effectively getting all our citizens educated by further simplifying the process and instructional content.

I am not a linguist but I believe pidgin can be standardised. The lexicon can be enriched with even borrowed vocabulary. All languages in d world went through a transformational process.
If I may ask, is it same English spoken in d middle ages that is been spoken today or sane Yoruba or Igbo of our grand parents spoken by our generation, even d English of d 1900s is different from d one we speak now.
I would have suggested our local languages but that can't work because we are a multi lingual country.pidgin is the only language universal in Nigeria.

Whatever, as long as we have good roads. We are enjoying consistent availability of fuel because of partial deregulation by paying more soi don't see why this should not be encouraged as long as it guarantees good roads. Lekki, Lagos is a good example

That's what we are talking about , accepted norm in contemporary Nigerian society is English as general language. If it changes to pidgin I am more than cool with it. If this was a pidgin forum I wouldn't have had any choice

This is plain genius. Why can't we take a cue from the Asians. They have standardized their languages to be used for instructional content in their education.

We should also be able to standardise our pidgin so we can use it to teach our local people. I have seen a pure illiterate work on an old car successfully, only if that chap had some more localised knowledge of modern technology. We will not be needing those illiterate chinese and Indians fleecing us day in day out.
