First I will assume you have downloaded the most recent 2.3.6 stock Rom for your galaxy ace..

Secondly you will need to download SAMSUNG USB DRIVER. and ODIN from the same place you down...Pls try this link.... www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-S5830&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware

ODIN is in the flash program column,while USB DRIVER is in the drivers column.

After you have downloaded the ODIN and USB DRIVER... pls click here for pictural instruction and and how to do it.

and most importantly Back up all your contact and other info... cos your phone will be blank as New after upgrade.

Then you need to re-install your Rom.....
pls head to samfirmware.com to download the recent 2.3.6 official Rom for your galaxy ace... its the phone I'm using.

download and re-install via ODIN.

its very easy.... you can do it yourself.

balogunsam: congrats bro. if airtel is ur major line and u av d 3.5G in ur area,use the airtwl blackberry plan BCM to 440,costs 1400,gives 1GB for a month. check nairaland for a way to use mtn bis on ur android fone.cheers!

Kadata: Na opera I de use since o o o. I knw my problem sha- na Gaming o. I downloaded Need for Speed Shift and those boys needed about 300MB to download ''full components of the game''. Plus other games sha. See all my BB Boys de open mouth for the graphics sha. Imma get a BB to curtail this data thing -say Friday. But on a normal day 1gb should be a fair data for a normal Android user in a month

you guys can try using opera mini as you browser or dophine it reduse cost a lot. that way the way my MB was going befor i descover the best way.

2kurupt: Its a nice midrange android that's upgradeable to gingerbread, I'll recommend you buy especially if your new to android. But if you got a little cash to spare, you can go for something higher.

To confirm upgrade, head to Application—> Settings—> About Phone

If everything went well, you will see Firmware version as 2.2 and Build number as FROYO.D
