President Bola Tinubu has sacked five
ministers from his cabinet.


The affected ministers are Uju Kennedy-
Ohanenye, minister of women affairs; Lola Ade-
John, the minister of tourism; and Jamila Bio
Ibrahim, minister of youth development.

Tahir Mamman was also relieved of his duty as
the minister of education while Abdullahi
Muhammad Gwarzo was let go as minister of
state, housing and urban development.

The termination of their appointment was
announced at the federal executive council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

“The president thanked the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council for their service to the nation while wishing them the best in their
future endeavours,” the presidency said in a
statement.

“He then charged the newly appointed ministers
as well as their reassigned colleagues to see
their appointment as a call to serve the nation.
“He added that all appointees must understand
the administration’s eagerness and determination

to set Nigeria on the path to irreversible growth
and invest the best of their abilities into the
actualisation of the government’s priorities.”

The president also announced the re-
assignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios and
the nomination of seven new ministers for
onward transmission to the senate for confirmation.

A human rights lawyer and activist, Prof. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo, has alleged that the Nigerian Police Force, NPF, now commercialize their services.

In a post via her social media handle on Monday, October 21, Ezeilo disclosed that the Police charge fixed amounts as high as N300,000.

Ezeilo further accused the Police of failing to respond adequately to crime victims in need of their assistance.

“These days, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has started commercializing their services, charging fixed amounts as high as 300k (in Enugu, for example), and hardly responds to
poor crime victims requiring their intervention,” the post read.

She said victims of Police brutality have not gotten justice, adding that recommendations made by various Panels of Inquiry across the country have not been implemented.

“I was a part of the #ENDSARS Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality.

“It’s disheartening that justice has not been served, and the decisions from the various Panels of Inquiry nationwide have yet to be implemented,” she wrote.

22-year-old yahoo boy and 19-year-old girlfriend burnt to de@th after refusing to share money he allegedly got from fraud

In a shocking incident in Kasoa, Ghana, a 22- year-old man named Kwabena Osei and his 19-year-old girlfriend have tragically lost their lives after being set ablaze by friends over GHS 190,000 allegedly made from internet fraud.

According to a report by GhPage, Osei, an alleged member of a gang of internet fraudsters, was targeted after he refused to share the substantial spoils with his associates. Friends of Osei had repeatedly confronted him, urging him to reconsider his decision to keep the money for himself. However, their appeals went unheeded, escalating tensions within the group.

In a desperate act, Osei’s friends allegedly doused his residence with petrol and ignited the flames, resulting in the complete destruction of the property. Sadly, his girlfriend, identified as Princess, was present at the time and also
succumbed to the fire.

Sources told GhPage that Princess was also involved in the fraudulent activities, allegedly serving as the voice of a supposed white lady to facilitate calls on behalf of Osei and his gang.

A high court of the federal capital territory (FCT) in Maitama has issued a public summons to Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi state.

In the summons issued on Thursday, Maryanne Anenih, presiding judge, ordered Bello to appear before the court on October 24 to be arraigned on a 16-count charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The charge borders on alleged criminal breach of trust to the tune of N110,446,470,089, contrary to sections 96 and 311 of the Penal Code Law Cap.89, Laws of Northern Nigeria,
1963, and punishable under section 312 of same
law.

Anenih ordered the EFCC to publish the summons in a national newspaper.

She also ordered the EFCC to paste copies of the summons on Bello’s last known address and in conspicuous places on the premises of the court.

The EFCC had brought the application before the court claiming that they have been unable to serve Bello with the charge marked CR/778/24 and filed on September 25.

The former governor is to stand trial on this fresh 16-count charge alongside two officials of the Kogi state government — Abdulsalami Hudu and Umar Oricha.

The defendants were alleged to have used funds from the Kogi state treasury to acquire properties in highbrow areas within the FCT and in Dubai, according to the charge sheet seen by TheCable.
