Health / Easter: Church Opens Free Hospital To Tackle Maternal, Child Mortality. by excelAGR42: 5:51pm On Apr 19, 2019
By Egufe Yafugborhi and Davies Iheamnachor

OMEGA Power Ministries, OPM, known for Church charity has, in the spirit of Easter, opened a free hospital to tackle maternal and child mortality in the Niger Delta.

General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chinyere Chibuzor said the health facility, built in Omuohunwo, an Aluu village in Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers state, is focused on ensuring that indigent women receive free antenatal care during through delivery and post delivery.

Chibuzor, at the facility unveiling, said, “By the grace of God OPM free schools have run for over nine years and we sustain it, with church offerings. We started with one. Now we have 11 schools. A lot of money is coming into the church every Sunday, what are pastors doing with it?

“If a pastor can use church money to build a school while not use the same money to run it and sustain it. If we can sustain the school and five free estates we can also sustain this.

“Some pastors call me saying I should stop disclosing that a lot of money comes into the church every day, but I will have to say the truth.

“God’s money should be used for God’s people. We made it a specialist hospital because the rate of maternal death is unbelievable. How can a woman carry a pregnancy for nine months without going to the hospital, sometimes deliver at home and die?

“We are using professionals. I don’t want to compromise standard. We have engaged best hands in the field and they will give good services here.”
Chibuzor noted that there is so much suffering in the land.
“OPM is operating 11 schools and it is free. We give free uniforms, books, and lunch. This is a world class health facility.
All the equipment here is imported.
“All the rooms are in suits and fully equipped. The hospital has a high standard. We have also made an arrangement that when a woman delivers here we will feed her till she is discharged.

“The hospital is for everybody, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital noted that the hospital has qualified personnel and equipment to achieve its purpose of ending maternal mortality.

Crime / Ritualists Cut Off 50-year-old Palm Oil Seller’s Breasts In Ondo by excelAGR42: 6:22am On Apr 12, 2019
By Dayo Johnson

A 50-year-old palm oil seller, identified as lya Dunsi, was reportedly murdered by ritualists, who removed her two breasts in Arigidi-Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Late lya Dunsi, according to a police source, was kidnapped and her corpse later found where it was dumped in a nearby bush at her Odiolowo, Arigidi-Akoko residence.
Her assailants, according to a police source, tied a rope on one of her legs and pulled her to the bush, which is not more than a distance of 100 kilometres to her house.
Vanguard gathered that those going to the farm early in the morning discovered her corpse and raised the alarm.
She was reportedly stripped naked by the ritualists before her two breasts were removed.

Recall that similar ritual killings took place in lkare Akoko late last year in which a woman was killed and her private parts, including her breast, removed.

Also, an eight-year-old pupil of St George’s Anglican Primary School, Okeagbe Akoko was murdered for ritual purposes.

Speaking with newsmen, Divisional Police Officer for Okeagbe Akoko, Ibitayo Adetanranmi, confirmed the murder of the palm oil seller and the removal of her organs. He assured that the perpetrators of the dastardly act will not only be fished out but punished in accordance with the law.

Education / Seven English Words You Will Be Shocked To Know You’ve Been Using Wrongly by excelAGR42: 3:07pm On Oct 25, 2018
The English language can be somewhat confusing at times, especially when you fail to update yourself on the meanings of words regularly.

If you have ever heard someone say, “I was literally scared to death?”, that’s impossible simply because the dead can’t talk. Here are seven more English words you probably have been using wrong.

Disinterested

The word “disinterested” is another misunderstood word in the English language. While many people believe that the word means that you’re simply not interested, the original meaning of “disinterested” refers to a lack of bias or being fair and impartial: “We needed a disinterested judge to decide this case.” To indicate that you’re indifferent about something, you should use the word “uninterested.”

Bemused

People sometimes use the word “bemused” in place of “amused,” but the two words are not synonyms. Bemused means that you’re confused or bewildered.

Literally

The word “literally” is literally one of the most misused words in the English language. This word is often used as a way to emphasize something that happened: “I literally died laughing.”
The word refers to something that actually happened, without exaggeration, such as, “The tornado that came through literally destroyed every house in its path.”

Peruse

A lot of people believe that the word “peruse” means to read something quickly. As a matter of fact, the opposite of this is true. Peruse means to “read with thoroughness or care.” Used correctly, you would say, “I spent at least an hour perusing my notes so that I fully understood it.”

Terrific

This word is one of the words in the English language that has become completely disconnected from its origin. A lot of the time, it is used as a compliment or to describe a good feeling: “That outfit looks terrific!” or “I slept great and feel terrific today!”
However, the origin and proper meaning of the word is completely different, and means “very bad” or “exciting fear”. You might hear something like, “I just saw a terrific accident on my way home from work,” which would unfortunately sound strange in modern language.

Ambivalent

Most people think that the term ambivalent means that you don’t care about something. The word however means that you have contradictory or mixed feelings about a subject matter—not that you’re apathetic.
Used correctly, you could say, “I’m feeling quite ambivalent about where I want to work after graduation this year. I can’t decide whether I should work with a company or start a private business.”

Irregardless

While this word is popular in certain dialects, “irregardless” simply doesn’t exist in the English language. The word that you’re looking for is “regardless.” For example, “Regardless of the cost, they said they’re going to have a society wedding.”

Politics / Buhari Not Sympathetic To Killer Herdsmen – Presidency by excelAGR42: 6:29am On Sep 06, 2018
The Presidency in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said there was no truth in the allegations of the media house.

He said “We reject The Punch newspaper’s September 4th, 2018, editorial which alleged that President Buhari had sympathy for criminality perpetuated by a misguided group.

“The editorial was not only disrespectful of the President and his office, but was also reckless, thoughtless, inflammatory and totally irresponsible.
“It is steadily becoming clear from the views, news and opinions of this newspaper that it will explore every opportunity and twist every fact to declare every Nigerian and ECOWAS member with Fulani blood a terrorists, who must be stripped of their rights as citizens, or worse subjected to ethnic cleansing.

“We believe and strongly insist that criminality perpetrated by some miscreants should not be used to demonize other responsible and decent members of the same ethnic group.

“The collective demonization of any ethnic group because of the misguided behaviour or conduct of criminals is improper and no responsible government will ever do so.”

He went on “The Punch editorial is, therefore, sheer blackmail and mischief designed to push its own sinister and unpatriotic agenda disguised as free speech. “By inciting the people against an ethnic group because of the criminal activities of a few is unhelpful and deleterious to peace.

“Rather than proffer solutions, the editorial only regurgitated simplistic narratives of complex national issues, deliberately neglecting the broader and unbiased understanding and interpretation.

“After the highly biased and misleading editorial, the newspaper could not but come to terms with the established fact that climate change and criminality remained key drivers of the farmers-herdsmen conflict.

“Currently, a massive and fierce military operation is going on in Zamfara State to neutralise the activities of bandits who have been sacking communities and killing innocent people, and the security outfits have been deployed to safeguard lives and property.”

He added, “In its attempt to build a case against the President and tarnish his hard-earned reputation, the newspaper misquoted and removed from the actual context words attributed to him, one or two of which we wish to clarify here.

“In pointing out that some Nigerians, who dare the desert and the Mediterranean in order to migrate illegally to Europe have to blame themselves, the President had a context, following severe warnings by local authorities that were clearly being ignored.
“The unfortunate Nigerians were always lured into harmful and unsafe journeys, with high likelihood of death or slavery.

“The President said the ECOWAS protocol allows freedom of movement but Nigeria will not tolerate the illegality. An administration that paid USD500,000 to evacuate 3,000 stranded Nigerians in Libya and a similar amount to bring back those that went to Russia to watch the World Cup this year cannot, in all fairness, be accused of insensitivity to the plight of illegal migrants.

“The question to ask the newspaper is simple: are we to say nothing, do nothing when our young citizens make the wrong choice of embarking on journeys that lead to slavery and death in the Mediterranean? “Is it out of place to warn of the dangers of such wrong decisions?”

He said that for the second issue, the President could not have been wrong in drawing attention to negative, abrasive and insensitive reporting by a section of the press that threatens to jeopardize national security by draining the morale of uniformed men and women who are sacrificing their lives to keep the country united.

“Without a safe, peaceful and stable country, it is difficult to imagine how newspapers can prosper in their trade.

“Under this administration, no media, no matter how provocative, will be fettered in their freedom of expression. Rather, we will continue to appeal to their conscience to place national interest and professionalism above narrow concerns.

“The Presidency advises members of the media to exercise restraint and good judgement for the larger good of the society.

“We must not forget the significant and unsavoury roles played by journalists in the Rwandan genocide of 1994, which claimed almost one million lives. We should all work for the good of the country and all citizens.”

Have you considered that the project might turn out to be a huge failure due to so many uncertainties associated with watermelon farming?

Please people should not take everything they read online too seriously (i.e hook, line and sinker).

Always do your own research and study.

Culture / How I Stopped Herdsmen From Entering My Community — Edo Monarch by excelAGR42: 6:37am On Feb 19, 2018

THE traditional ruler of Imiegba Community, Three, Ibie, in  Etsako-East Local Government Area of Edo StaHe however,  attributed the killings to some traditional rulers who, according to him, prefer car gifts to the security of their people, insisting that he will not entertain herdsmen in any part of his community.

He however,  attributed the killings to some traditional rulers who, according to him, prefer car gifts to the security of their people, insisting that he will not entertain herdsmen in any part of his community.

Speaking to journalists in his palace in Imiegba, the royal father said: “Going by the current attacks on farmlands in many places in Nigeria including Edo North, I am very happy that I declined herdsmen’s request to come here. Sometime ago, their leader, Alhaji Adamu Fulani, came here and asked for land for grazing and I told him I could not grant him his request and deny our people access to their farmlands. “We share boundary with Ogbona and Iraokor in Etsako-Central LGA and Apana-Uzairue in Etsako-West LGA. Our farmland is our heritage and as a responsible ruler, I cannot give it out for grazing or any other extraneous purpose, not with the insecurity all over the place now.” He appealed to other traditional rulers “who collect cow gifts from herdsmen and thereafter, give them accommodation and access to farmlands to change this act.

Bros I notice you need not space the sack, hope it won't affect yeild.
I also noticed that the bamboo you used was spaced, how many sack of cucumber should between two bamboo stand. Thanks for the anticipation.

Not at all sir,
The close spacing doesn't affect yield since trellis is used to trail the vines vertically to maximise space.

The maximum number of sack that I stacked in between two bamboo is 10 sacks.
Thanks
