just surprised! I never knew this could be close to me. the guy called me last week and I asked how he was doing and he replied that all is not well with him. till now he never replied my messages. I never knew this is what happened until I opened this thread and saw this. so sad the guy have gone through a lot concerning relationships for this tragic event to happen. the guy is Yoruba while the wife is Igbo likewise the guy's parent

I don't understand why in this day and age, an able-bodied woman would choose to be a housewife. A grown ass woman will be complaining that her husband does not cater to her needs! What does she do the whole day that she can't get a job or start a business? Also @op, she listed other grievances so why did you stress on the fact that she wasn't happy over her husband's refusal to attend church?

that was a news article in the newspaper. I did not edit anything from it. but I think that is her strongest point. may be the man is having financial problems and think drinking is the way out but the wife is looking at it as a spiritual problem and his refusal not to seek spiritual help means the man doesn't want the problem solved.

Ibadan – A housewife, Adenike Oladejo, has approached an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi Ibadan, seeking dissolution of her nine years marriage to her husband, Samuel Oladejo, over his refusal to attend Church with her.

Adenike, who testified in court on Friday, said she cried every day because of the kind of life her husband was living.
She said her husband was a drunk and always came home late, adding that
the plaintiff did not care about her welfare and the only child of the marriage.
She described the husband as “a stubborn and irresponsible family head who preferred spending his money on alcohol.
“I regret marrying him because my parents warned me not to marry him but I did not obey them due to the blind love I had for him.
“I pleaded with him on many occasions to be going to Church, with the aim of repenting from his bad ways of life but he refused.
“My Lord, separate us, I can no longer stay with a man who does not know God but live a sinful lifestyle.”
The defendant, who agreed to divorce the wife, however, accused her of abandoning him when he became broke.
He said “the court should grant her request but she did not seek for divorce when I had money and things were going on smoothly for me.
“It is now that she wants divorce because I hardly feed her and cater for her needs and our kid because I dont have the means.”
The president of the court, Chief Mukaila Balogun, dissolved the marriage, saying evidence of both parties proved that they both agreed to the separation.
Balogun also gave the custody of the only child of the marriage to the plaintiff and ordered the defendant to be paying N3,000 monthly for the upkeep of the child.

Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 36-year- old man who allegedly murdered his wife for ritual purpose in Ijora.

The suspect , Shakiru Bello, was apprehended in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he had allegedly gone to take cover after the alleged dastardly act in an uncompleted building, on Monday.

He was alleged to have dismembered the wife’s body with cutlass and buried her in a shallow grave in order not to give himself away, before leaving for Ibadan, his home town.

Luck was said to have run against him following suspicion on the disappearance of the wife, Sherifat, by his in-law. Their suspicion, according to a relative of the deceased, followed earlier alleged attempt on the wife by the husband.

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly inserted some charms into Sherifat’s private part while sleeping in their one room apartment in Shomolu area of the state, a situation that led her to stay away from him for some time.

However, on Monday, the deceased was said to have called the husband on phone, demanding N10,000 for the upkeep of their three children. They agreed to meet in Ebute-Metta area, from where they proceeded to Ijora where the alleged act took place.

Residents besieged Ijora Police Division after the news of the incident spread. Some of the curious residents followed the police and the suspect to the shallow grave where the corpse of Sherifat was buried and subsequently exhumed.

The dismembered body parts, which included the head, two hands and legs, were in decomposing state. The stench from the exhumed body parts did not deter the anxious crowd from having a glimpse of them.

At this point, the crowd called for instant justice on the suspect, appealing to the police to release him for mob action.

In order to avoid the invasion of the police station, the suspect and exhibits were taken to the Area ‘B’ Command, Apapa, with some residents still following on motorcycles.

During interrogation, the suspect, blamed the incident on the devil.

“I don’t know what to say than it was the devil that pushed me into butchering my wife. I am from Ibadan, in Oyo State.We have been married for 14 years now. We have three children. I was at Shomolu when she called me to meet her at Estate bus stop, Ebutte-Metta. She wanted to collect N10, 000 from me.

We later went to Ijora area where I killed her inside an uncompleted building. I killed her on Monday. If I did not bury her, people will easily link me with her death. Yet I have been caught. It was the work of the devil”.

The suspect, as gathered, would be transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.
