This story is true see more news to the previous post from another source U.S. Military Hit With Bestiality, Sodomy Controversy After 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Repeal The repeal of the U.S. military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy was hailed by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) activists as a supreme victory for the Obama administration in September. But now, those outraged by the repeal say they are further angered by the revision of yet another military technicality, albeit one that is considerably more obscure. As Stars and Stripes is reporting, White House and Pentagon officials have fielded uncomfortable queries on whether they are working to decriminalize sex with animals as part of efforts to update the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Interestingly, Congress is reportedly poised to remove the only specific reference to bestiality in the UCMJ, though officials say its removal is merely a legal technicality and does not represent any fundamental change for servicemembers and, by extension, service animals, the publication reports. "The department's position on this issue remains unchanged and that act remains illegal," defense spokesman Lt. Col Todd Breasseale is quoted as saying. The text in question to be repealed reads: a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense. (b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct. Among those who expressed their distaste in the removal were members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who allege White House officials are not considering the seriousness of the matter. "Our office has been flooded with calls from Americans who are upset that this ban has been repealed -- and for good reason," officials wrote in a letter to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, according to Politico. "As we outlined in the attached letter sent yesterday to the secretary of defense, animal abuse does not affect animals only -- it is also a matter of public safety, as people who abuse animals very often go on to abuse human beings." Not surprisingly, conservative pundits were also among the dissenting voices. Having already slammed the Obama administration for "using the military to advance [its] radical social agenda," Family Research Council President Tony Perkins told CNSNews.com, "Well, whether it was inadvertent or not, they have also taken out the provision against bestiality. So now, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), there’s nothing there to prosecute bestiality. sources http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/09/us-military-bestiality-controversy_n_1139357.html

Christians around the country have reacted to the call by former petroeum minister, Jubril Aminu, for the proscription of CAN. It may be recalled the Professor Jubril Aminu had in Kaduna during the Northern Peace Conference called for the proscription of CAN alleging that institutions like CAN fan the embers of dischord and promote violence. But in his reaction, former President of CAN and ex-Prelate of the Methodist church, His Eminence Sunday Mbang said Aminu might need to see a psychiatrist because the people that cause religious violence in the North are not Muslims but a Northern elements of the same caliber as Professor Aminu. Speaking further, Mbang said; “Does that man know how CAN came about? Where was he when well meaning Muslims like the late Sultan of Sokoto was collaborating with the Christian body to find pathways to all the crises in that region? I worked with the late Sultan and together we achieved so much in the overall interest of the nation. “If the man is calling for the dissolution of CAN then he needs to see a psychiatrist. I think he needs a lot of prayers and I will not hesitate to call on fellow Christians and Muslims in the country to pray fervently for him because it is obvious he needs a whole load of prayers.” Also speaking, Director of Social Communications of the Catholic Arch Diocese of Lagos, Rev. Monsignor Gabriel Osu said it was a shame that a man of Aminu’s stature could descend so low. Said Osu; “It is unfortunate that a man of that high calibre could be associated with such a call. I am ashamed. I read that story and my first reaction was; where are we going in this country when a man of that stature can descend so low to make such divisive statement at a time we are all clamouring for the unity of this nation. “The objectives of CAN are very clear. I don’t see how the objectives of CAN have affected adversely inflicted on his personal fundamental rights. Who will disband CAN? Who will dissolve CAN and what will be the reason for such a disolution? “We have co-existed in the country, has any Christian called for the dissolution of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs of Nigeria, SCIAN? Why are people just fanning the embers of disunity and come to think of it, he is one of those making laws for the development of the country,” Also, the Kaduna State chapter of CAN issued a Press release on the Aminu saga which appears below; Professor Jibril Aminu: By Their Fruits You Shall Know Them: Gentlemen of the press, and other members of CAN present here, I greet you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Ordinarily, we will not have spoken, preferring to believe that Professor Jibril Aminu was quoted out of context going by the reports being carried in the media credited to him, in which he called for the proscription of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN as a Christian umbrella association. By not countering or issuing a rebuttal, he has clearly shown that he indeed said so. Jubril Aminu as finally given word to his long term anti-Christian hidden agenda, and also his outright hatred of Christians and our faith, and also all that concerned us. Let us explain. We received the invitation to the Peace and Unity Conference of the Arewa Consultative Forum, with expectation that we will contribute in finding solutions to the problems bedeviling the North and also the lingering ethno-religious crises rocking the region, but on getting there, we received the greatest shock when Jibrin Aminu, who was born in 1939, in his presentation ended up denigrating Christians, insulting and casting aspersion on Christians as trouble makers, and those responsible for the woes facing Nigeria whose umbrella organization Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) ought to be proscribed. He went further and threatened that if his call for the proscription of CAN is not effected a new group like Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) he propounded will emerge. While still at the conference and on realizing that he has abused the sensibilities of Christians,he shamelessly advocated for peace and armonious relationship between Muslims and Christians, but then the cat has already been let out of the bag and he has clearly showed and proved that he is an Anti-Christ and a bigot who speaks in a manner unbecoming of reasonable and elderly statesman. He has also proved to Christians that the Peace Conference was just conceived, as a mere talk shop and a gathering for abusing our religion Christianity) and calling for our gradual extinction as Christians believing in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is not in position in any way to suggest that Christians are the trouble makers in Nigeria. Jesus said in Matthew 7:16 that "by their fruits you shall know them". In these times that we have cases of burning of Churches, and killing of Christians in Yobe, Bauchi and Borno States, do Christian elite now say both JNI or NSCIA are responsible for national instability, and should be proscribed? What is the connection between CAN and lack of peace and stability in Nigeria, that will have warranted him calling for our being proscribed? What evidences convinced him that Christians are trouble makers in Nigeria? To us it has confirmed his innermost hatred of Christians, and no wonder he could no longer chew it in secret but made it public. We hold Christianity in highest esteem as a true religion, just like Aminu may be holding his, if he does it faithfully and not engaging in other extra religious curricular, but he should know that in our way and practice we have not in any way denigrated any one from satisfying his conscience. Christianity has seen the worst persecution in this country, and we have not shrunk or falter rather we are still standing and aiming higher to God only and no one but God. Jibril Aminu and his co travelers cannot intimidate Christians with threats of proselytization and open persecution. Jubril Aminu may have echoed what principlaities of his faith are planning in secret, but they should know that this Jihad against Christians, like others before it will be futile. For the benefits of thosewho do not know, let me list challenges we face in the North as Christians, which Jibril Aminu never found it worthy to talk about, rather accusing us of being architects of Nigerian instability. Lack of religious freedom. Killing of Christian right in our Churches and burning and bombing of Churches. Refusal to grant C of Os for the building of Churches. Refusal to grant and assign burial grounds to Christians. Refusal to grant fairly and justly radio and TV times to Christians in contrast to other Muslims activities. Non inclusion of Christian religious knowledge in the curricula of some public schools in some states. Discrimination against Christians in matters of state appointments and promotions. Act of violence and political gerrymandering. The usage of media (local/foreign) in achieving or defending Muslim interest only, and also denigrating Christians in the state owned media. Practical and application of Muslims Sharia as a tool to persecute and subjugate Christians. Disregard and lack of respect for Christians of Northern Region, i.e. usage of derogatory terms as “Arna,Arne,Kafiri, Kafirai|” Intolerant and arrogant attitude towards Christianity of Northern origin. The high-handedness of government on inter-religious conflict and riots involving Christians and Muslims. Incessant killings of Christians and burning of Christian churches, institutions and house since 1980 to the present. Use of government funds to promote Islam and Islamic institutions at the expense of Christians and Christianity, especially the current efforts by the CBN governor to use public funds to promote Islamic Banking. Finally, Christians in Nigeria and beyond are demanding open apology from Jubril Aminu, and retraction of the denigration meted to us and abuse of our religion. The silence of Arewa Consultative Forum has clearly shown that they endorsed his action unanimously, and from now on we are disassociating CAN and Christians from activities of the ACF going by this insult of our faith. To Jibril Aminu and his cohorts, no amount of threats, intimidation and oppression can force us away from Christianity, it was born out of conviction and not proselitization, Christianity outlived him and he will never see the back of Christianity. Thanks and God bless. Rev. Yunusa Nmadu Jnr. Secretary, Kaduna State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Source |

Firstly the idea of chines government loaning us for d project is totally absurd, why not channel the loan through our banking sector if we think Nigeria govt with all d billions earning from d crude oil could not afford to purchase a common cctv. Secondly why ZTE and why making the contract procedure in secrecy. And thirdly why are we so stupid to destroy ourselves all because of selfish gain out of dubious deal. It is pathetic to see how we ruin ourselves, make a fellow country men suffer for nothing through our sell out to all this SMART foreigners. Nigeria leaders, the most gullible and stupid set of people I can ever imagine of. I think is high time Nigeria should wake up due away with this silly set of Chinese corrupt nonsense. Well at the end same story Naija is dead ![]() |
The House of Representatives on Wednesday queried the $470m National Security Communication System contract for the Federal Capital Territory. A component of the contract awarded to a Chinese firm, ZTE Corporation, is the installation of Close Circuit Television cameras in Abuja. The Federal Government engaged the Chinese firm in the wake of bombings by the Boko Haram sect and other security challenges in the country lately. But in a resolution in Abuja, the House asked its Joint Committee on Public Procurement, Aids, Loans/Debt Management, Information Technology and Police Affairs to “investigate the level of compliance with the award and the terms of contract and determine if the execution of the project by ZTE Corporation is in conformity with due process.” This followed a motion by a member, Mr. Hassan Saleh, who informed the House that $399.5m of the contract sum would be sourced as a loan from the Chinese Government. “The Federal Government has made a 15 per cent down payment, which amounted to N70.5m of the total contract sum and has signed a Sovereign Guarantee to the tune of $399.5m to enable ZTE to source for loan from the Chinese Government for the project,” Saleh told the House. Besides, he stated that sub-standard CCTV cameras were allegedly being installed by the firm in Abuja, compared to similar projects executed in China, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Malaysia. “The poles used are very close to the ground, making them easy targets for vandals, compared to what the same company did in their home country, China, and other countries,” he added. One of the conditions of the contract set by ZTE, according to the lawmaker, is that the “contractual details of the transaction with the Federal Government should not be made public,” which implied that the project “is presently shrouded in secrecy.” The House resolved that the alleged secrecy surrounding the details of the contract was a “clear violation of the doctrine of transparency, accountability and infringement of the laws of our country.” Findings showed that the Chinese firm started erecting the CCTV shortly after the June 16 bombing of the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja by the Boko Haram sect. The project was said to have been sped up following another deadly attack on the United Nations building in the city on August 23. It was learnt that the project could also be used to monitor elections, verify the results and help in disaster management. source http://www.punchontheweb.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=7121:reps-query-$470m-abuja-cctv-contract&Itemid=542
