I'm sure GMB is taking a cue from this American Hero (politically speaking)

Abraham Lincoln Didn't Quit

Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. If you want to learn about somebody who didn't quit, look no further.
Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.
He could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country.
Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up. Here is a sketch of Lincoln's road to the White House:

1816 His family was forced out of their home. He had to work to support them.
1818 His mother died.
1831 Failed in business.
1832 Ran for state legislature - lost.
l832 Also lost his job - wanted to go to law school but couldn't get in.
1833 Borrowed some money from a friend to begin a business and by the end of the year he was bankrupt. He spent the next 17 years of his life paying off this debt.
1834 Ran for state legislature again - won.
1835 Was engaged to be married, sweetheart died and his heart was broken.
1836 Had a total nervous breakdown and was in bed for six months.
1838 Sought to become speaker of the state legislature - defeated.
1840 Sought to become elector - defeated.
1843 Ran for Congress - lost.
1846 Ran for Congress again - this time he won - went to Washington and did a good job.
1848 Ran for re-election to Congress - lost.
1849 Sought the job of land officer in his home state - rejected.
1854 Ran for Senate of the United States - lost.
1856 Sought the Vice-Presidential nomination at his party's national convention - get less than 100 votes.
1858 Ran for U.S. Senate again - again he lost.
1860 Elected president of the United States.

Jobs/VacanciesTop-5 Things To Ask In An Interview by expensive007(op): 12:29pm On Oct 24, 2014
Usually it is the HR-manager who is asking you some questions. But sometimes during a job interview you are supposed to ask something yourself. If you are unprepared, it can be too hard.

So keep in mind the following 5 types of questions you can ask till your interview is over:
1. How do you imagine a perfect candidate for this position?
This question can make interviewer to tell what the employer is looking for. And it helps you to note the needed qualities when you will be asked about them.
2. What do you like most about working in this company?
This question can demonstrate how the people are satisfied with their jobs. You may also learn some benefits of the company you are applying to. If the interviewer does not want to answer this question without any explanation, it can be a bad sign.
3. Do you have some more questions about my specifications and abilities?
This question is rather puzzling. But it can show that you are a confident person who is sure about his/her skills and abilities.
4. Who was previously on this position?
This question will help you to understand whether this person was promoted or got fired. Or maybe he/she has just retired or quit. This will help you to analyze the atmosphere in the company.
5. What is the next level?
This question will tell you about the next step of choosing the candidates. It also demonstrates that you are interested in this position. Or, if everything was good, you can hear that there are no further steps and you are hired.
Don’t also forget that there are some questions you should never ask during your interview. So you should better be checking them out too!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: "How Much Do We Pay You?" Interview Question by expensive007(m): 11:58pm On Oct 12, 2014
hojayz:
I think what dey r asking u indirectly is "how much is ur service worth?" Dey want 2 know hw much u value ursef. Give them a specific figure and tell them u r open to negotiation. Say it with confidence.
well said smiley
During my interview in my present place of work, I was confronted with a similar question. I suggested that d approved format suitable for my position be applied, but they insisted that i shld name my price, then I gave them a price which we later bargained and arrived closely to the approved format. All u need do is just know ur worth and always stand ur ground on ur final decision. They may also want to know if u are a man/woman of integrity. Cheers grin grin grin
