A 33-year-old driver, Selas Boafo, was shot and killed last Thursday by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Kete Krachi in the Volta Region. This was when a 33-seater Ford vehicle with registration number GW 5342 X, which he was driving, was accosted by the suspected criminals. Doctors at the Krachi West District Hospital, who attended to the late Selas, could not behold the sight when he was rushed in Thursday evening around 9pm in a pool of blood, with his jaw split wide open and tongue dangling. At the time, five persons were said to be on board the vehicle. He was stopped by the heavily armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen who are said to be operating in the area. They were then said to have blocked both sides of the road with logs and a vehicle, thereby preventing any vehicle from plying the road. Upon reaching the spot, the deceased was signaled to stop which he obliged. At the time, an Urvan bus carrying loaves of bread was said to have been accosted, with the driver being searched at gunpoint. The driver of the Urvan was said to have had his head broken with the butt of the AK 47 assault rifle that the suspected robbers were wielding, when he was delaying in meeting their demands. But, just when the deceased driver was about to park where he had been ordered to, one of the suspected robbers opened fire at close range, splitting his jaw wide open. He (the robber) apparently thought the deceased driver was bolting. The Fulani herdsmen were said to have abandoned the ‘project’ and fled the scene in a yet-to-be-identified vehicle, leaving the deceased and the other injured driver to their respective fate. The Urvan driver was then said to have, with the assistance of other occupants of the bus, immediately carried the late Selas into his vehicle and rushed him to the Krachi West District Hospital. Doctors however were unable to save Selas who was reported to have died after being taken to the facility. Fruitless Effort Medical Superintendent at the hospital, Dr Hilarius Abbiw, told Daily Guide, “As sad as the incident was, even more sad for me was the fact that we do not have an intensive care unit and the gentleman choked on his own blood.” “Under the circumstance, we needed to put him on an artificial breathing machine (ventilator) so he doesn’t choke; yet there is none and he ended up choking on his own blood and we lost the gentlemen even before he could be referred to Korle Bu,” he narrated. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue of the Krachi West District Hospital Meanwhile, Daily Guide sources at Kete Krachi said the robbers had targeted the state-run Metro Mass Transport bus that usually plies the route. On that fateful day however, the Metro Mass Transport bus was said to have gotten to Dambai late, hence missed the ferry (pontoon) that would have carted it to the other side of the Volta Lake and got to Krachi the next morning which was Friday, thereby preventing the robbers from hitting their target. Markets to the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi. An uncle to the governor, he is also the leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Stakeholders Forum. He speaks with CHINELO OBOGO on the crises in APGA, the recent court judgment that sacked the party’s National Executive Council, the merging of opposition parties and plans of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state. Excerpts: The crises is APGA I do not think that Chukwuemka Ojukwu Jnr. was right, when he said the issue with APGA was about who would succeed Governor Peter Obi and alleging that the governor wanted to ram someone down the party’s throat. The governor is so busy, trying to improve the lot of the state to start squabbling about who will succeed him and who will not. He is not that kind of person. He is not working to run anybody down or prevent anyone from contesting the governorship election. There is no question of a problem, coming from the nomination of somebody from the South Senatorial Zone. All that we are waiting for is to get a nomination from the zone, and then we will take off. Contrary to widely held beliefs, it is not true that the governor is in support of anyone from any zone, whether north or south. The issue there is that as long as the zones send a nominee for the primary election, then things can take off from there. That is all he is waiting for and I can swear with my hair that he is not in support of any particular person. AGPA’s forthcoming convention It is true that a final hearing on Victor Umeh’s case will take place on April 8, the same day the party has scheduled to hold a convention that will produce members of the National Executive Council. Before we fixed that date, we made proper enquiries from lawyers on the workability of the date and they said there was nothing wrong with it. But if on that day, the court rules that no convention should be held and the ruling is in accordance with the constitution, we will respect it. However, I do not think that will happen because we sought for legal counsel before fixing the date. The lawyers that we consulted told us that the judgment that ousted Umeh from being the national chairman was a declaratory judgment and a stay of execution, which Umeh is seeking does not affect a declaratory judgment. In the case of INEC, it is a very important body in Nigeria and it cannot be seen to be ignoring court decisions. The court has said it had dissolved the national executive of the party; it is unfortunate that Umeh is going around disgracing everybody, including the court, just because he does not want to leave office. The court said it had sacked the NEC of the party, including Umeh. But in order not to create a vacuum, it ordered that the party should fix a date to conduct a national convention where party officials will be elected. So, INEC, on its part, should not be seen to be taking sides but should adhere to the ruling that a court of competent jurisdiction has given. We started this party and we are not going to watch while it goes down. On the issue of who will receive correspondence from INEC on the party’s behalf, it is we, the stakeholders that will decide who INEC will deal with, when it comes to official matters. It is not and cannot be Umeh because he has been sacked by the court. APGA crises will not affect 2014 election It is not true that Gov. Obi has not given adequate support to the party. It is public knowledge that he has tried his best to ensure that the party stands. During the last elections, he followed most of the candidates and campaigned in every nook and cranny of the state. So, it is unfair for anyone to say he did not do enough for the party. What we are doing now is to ensure that we put our house back in order and join our forces together so that we will win the elections. What has held us down is that we had an inept leadership and that is why we are working round the clock to put things in order so that we will regain the grounds that we have lost. It is very worrisome that APGA is embroiled in such a situation but unfortunately, that is the character we find in the average Igbo man that believes in running others down when he cannot climb up himself. Our people like creating unnecessary squabbles where none should exist. That is why we are worried about the problems it is having and we are trying hard to restructure the party. Even though APGA is a national party, it has a lot Igbo interests and if we do not work hard, it means the Igbo will be sidelined from a lot of things in the political arena of the country. Gov. Okorocha and APC We are not saying we have very strong presence in Imo State and it is because the leadership we had in the party was very ineffective and incompetent. That is why we are where we are. We are working together with everyone who believes in the party and wants to work together with us. A lot of people have said many things about the merger of opposition parties and why the Governor of Imo State, who was elected on the platform of APGA, is joining them. But it is not compulsory that Okorocha works with us if he does not want to. It is not compulsory that he must work with us. You will be surprised at the calibre of people that are joining the party. Many of those who matter in the south-east are gradually coming into our fold. So, I do not see one person, going away as anything important. This party has been on since 2001 and was solely sponsored by one man but Okorocha just came onto the scene. Obi has been reaching out to Okorocha in many ways. He has tried to reason with him over the issue of the merger and to tell him the implications of doing what he is doing but you cannot force the Imo governor to do what he does not want to do. The PDP may not accept Okorocha into its fold and the APC, which he is bent on joining, may or may not be the best for him in terms of strategy. Obi has let him know these issues that I feel he should listen to and he has advised him that if he does not consider his moves properly, he might be losing out entirely in all aspects of politics. According to a statement released today by Patience Jonathan's Special Assistant on Media, Ayo Osinlu, our dear First Lady didn't travel abroad for medical treatment. See the statement below... “Our attention has been attracted by some curiosity in a cross section of the public and particularly the media, about the movement of Her Excellency, the First Lady, Dame (Dr) Patience Goodluck Jonathan. For the avoidance of doubts and ambiguities, we wish to state that the First Lady travelled to Dubai, after which she proceeded to Paris, France, to participate in the 1st Green Women Conference, which took place in Paris on March 17, 2013 where she received the 2013 Global Women Leaders’ Award for Peace. “She thereafter proceeded to Italy from where she went to Germany to see her mother, Mama Sisi, who is currently receiving medical attention. See the rest of the statement after the cut... “The First Lady is spending sometime overseeing the management of her mother’s condition. “She is also using the opportunity to spend quality time with her holidaying children before they return to school, as they are with her to see their grandmother. “It is unfortunate that again, some media houses have allowed themselves to be used by dedicated mischief makers against the basic tenet of professional journalism, which regards truth as sacred. “It is notable that Her Excellency has a history of visiting the hospital in Germany even before she became the First Lady, thus making her medical trips routine. “It is also instructive to state that medical experts have recommended that every human being should undergo medical check up every six months, even if not suffering ill health. “Therefore, hospital visitations of our leaders should not become leading media issues or attract disrespectful comments”.

THE UNTOLD TRUTH ABOUT NIGERIAN BLOGGER LINDA IKEJI. FOR HER FANS ATTACKING ME ON TWITTER THAT DON'T KNOW HER? Linda Ikeji is a popular blogger in the Nigerian entertainment scene. I never met her till I spotted her walk past the red carpet at Darey's LLAM show. She did not stop to talk to any media outlet. Many of you began attacking me because I asked on twitter "Who is Linda Ikeji as in making me famous. She can make ppl famous in Nigeria but I'm a top blogger myself in US and Canada?" Some of you heard what I said about her on Splash 105.5FM Ibadan last week during my interview on Bullseye with Nike Adewuyi. I kept it real. I clearly told Nike that Linda did NOT make me famous in any way. She writes the same story everyone floods the Internet with. By now you should have noticed that she is not the only blogger writing about me. But to read people asking me if I really know who she is and cursing me all along, maybe I should wake up the sleeping dogs. Linda blogged one particular story about me when I said there is no poverty in Nigeria, she specifically said she did not know who I was. She may not know me personally but she knows the name back in 2006. Linda Ikeji is also a home wrecker! On the woman who "stole" my junior cousin's then fiance Dan Foster formerly of Cool FM a month before their wedding. Deola Olunloyo ended the relationship with Dan Foster and my dad and other family members had to cancel a lot of expensive wedding expenditure. After Deola moved on, she continued her work as an internationally recognized Journalist expertise in HIV education. Linda went ahead and dated Dan and was later dumped. She spoke about how miserable she was to the Punch newspapers. You cannot be happy when you wreck someone else's home. Sources from Dan's camp told me that he regretted his actions and has moved on. Dan went ahead and married his current wife Lovina and they have 3 lovely children. He now works at Inspiration FM. What Linda did is not new. I responded to her in a 2006 issue of Global Excellence magazine that home wrecking was not a kind thing. Dan was considered a weak man to me. If he had even asked for his fiance's forgiveness is one thing but to now turn around and openly date Linda was another. Many of you do not know these FACTUAL stories. recently I was told by other sources in the shady Nigerian blogging industry that she was responsible for the break up of Nigerian Rapper Ikechukwu and his girlfriend allegedly accusing the girl of sleeping with D'Banj, something I did not get into. Like I said on the radio yesterday, Linda is making money building her brand and I am doing the same. She initiated a convo with Kola Boof and I not aware that I know Kola as American blogger Sandra Rose's frenemy. Kola realized that later and had no idea she was talking to me on twitter (that Kemi) while Linda thought she was blogging a twitter beef. As a result, Kola blocked her tweets and protected them from Linda and several Nigerians. She has never in anyway made me famous. My deportation from Canada made me famous and the works I did abroad in ending gun violence and drug abuse. Pls put your money where your mouth is. This is an advice for Linda's fan. I am a professional blogger since 1999 and a Journalist. Even Perez Hilton makes $67Million a year and far more than us and does not play these antics. Pictures Below Were Gotten From Mrs Kemi Olunloyo Site http://www.hiphossip.com/2013/04/medianews-untold-truth-about-nigerian.html I Never Knew Linda Was Married

Remember I told you guys some days back that controversial actress Tonto Dike was heart broken by her sweet boyfriend. Well, the saga continues. Pictured above with Tonto is the guy who did it. His name is Caporahvenwah Okolie, popularly known as Chief Capo. He is an international model, rapper and singer. A source said Tonto caught him on top another lady in his home and they fought... This led to their break up. From what I hear, Caporahvenwah is good looking, rich and not ready to settle down yet since there are so many women "available" to him. He has a home in Atlanta and also owns a record label known as G-Muzik Entertainment. Recall that Tonto Dike had bragged that she doesn't like Igbo guys, but this guy's mum is South African while his dad is a Nigerian from Igbo. Below are confirmation tweets from Caporahvenwah, also known as 2G:

Victims of the 2012 flood disaster in Kogi have rejected the offer of N3, 000 compensation from the state government, describing the gesture as inadequate. Some of the victims told newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday that the N3, 000 offered to them by the government was far below the losses they suffered individually during the disaster. The flood, which affected nine local government areas of the state, destroyed more than 500 houses and rendered15,00 residents homeless. Some of the victims said that they were paid N3, 000 compensation on Thursday by a team of government officials at LGEA Primary School at Gadumo, Lokoja. Among the victims were Mr Zacheus Momorebe, Mr James Oguche, Mr Suleiman Ogidi and Mr Olaitan Ayorinde, who claimed to be landlords. They said that their houses located on Ganaja Road and the old polytechnic quarters were completely submerged by the flood. The victims said that the amount could not in any way ameliorate the losses they suffered. They alleged a lack of transparency in the sharing of the money given victims by the Federal Government, organisations and individuals. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the state government recently released N139 million to the nine affected local government areas. The local governments received sums ranging from N10 million to N20 million to be disbursed to victims. Reacting to the complaints, the state Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Abdulrhaman Wuya, said that the money paid to the victims should not be regarded as compensation but assistance. He said that considering the method used to allocate the N139 million to the affected areas and in the bid to spread the assistance, the amount each person would receive would be in the range of N3, 000. “ More post-flood measures that will benefit all of them are on the way. They should remain calm and bear with the government,’’ he said. Wuya also appealed to people living along river banks and waterways to relocate to avoid the experience of the last year during which many lives and property were lost. Akolade Arowolo, the 31-year-old man standing trial for allegedly killing his banker wife, Titilayo, on June 24, 2011 said he and the deceased kissed and had sex for two hours on the day she died. He added that the activity signified that they (couple) had a cordial relationship before her demise. Akolade, who said his wife died on his 30th birthday, explained that although the marriage was good, it was not without its challenges. He said, “That day she died was my birthday. I see birthdays as a new year in one’s life and I usually pray at the early hours of that day. I prayed till 3am but was woken by my wife’s kiss. We had sex for almost two hours and it was very good as we hadn’t done such in a while. “We later prayed and talked about how we could improve on our relationship as well as business opportunities.” Akolade said he only slapped his wife once throughout their three-year marriage, adding that their marriage was not a violent one as alleged. Akolade, while being led in evidence by the defence counsel, Olanrewaju Ajanaku, told an Ikeja High Court on Thursday that he met his wife at Lagos State University in 2005 while he was taking classes for a postgraduate degree. He said they grew close and became good friends and he got her pregnant in 2008 and they got married in November that year. He said, “We were great friends and lovers but that is not to say that we didn’t have challenges. In the course of our relationship, there were times people commended us because we knew how to counsel people. “We were everywhere together and I took her to work on many occasions while sometimes, I would leave the car for her to take to work while I would use public transport. Our challenges were like those of many young couples. We disagreed on many things. “For example, a few months before our daughter, Olamide, was born, we were making plans for the baby when she demanded N500, 000 to buy all necessary things. I told her I didn’t have that much on me and she should accept N100, 000 but she refused and left for her parents’ home.” Akolade described his wife as hot-tempered adding that she always flared up whenever she could not have her way, earning her the nickname, Thatcher. He said a few months into the marriage, he noticed that his wife’s attitude had changed and he sought advice from a friend who told him to leave the house whenever there was an argument. He said one day, his wife got him very angry and he slapped her only once. He said, “One Friday, I went for a vigil but did not come back the following morning. I went to stay with a friend because I wanted my wife to miss me. However I started missing her and I went back home that same day. On getting home, I met a man in the house whom my wife identified as her colleague. The man left immediately after. “I went through her phone and noticed that she had called her father, George Oyakhire, an ex-boyfriend of hers and an unidentified number. Later, I asked her why she didn’t call me when I did not come home but she said she did not have airtime. I then asked her that where did she then get airtime to call the three people I noticed on her phone. “She flared up and said I should never go through her phone again. She then started to call her ex-boyfriend in my presence. I got angry, grabbed her phone and smashed it against the wall. She took my phone and smashed it as well, so I slapped her. She immediately left the house and went to her parents’ place.” He said his wife was also secretive and had even confessed to having an abortion without his consent adding that the abortion later led to menstrual complications. Akolade, who claimed to be an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, said he was not jobless as reported but was an auditor and had even worked on big government contracts. He maintained that his wife had on numerous occasions left him to be with her parents sometimes for months. Justice Lateefa Okunnu adjourned the matter till May 22, 2013, for further hearing, standing down the case after Akolade broke down and could not continue with his testimony.
