Politics › Police Beat Up Oyo Commissioner by expertman(op): 1:45pm On Jun 01, 2013
Police beat up Oyo Commissioner

Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Alhaji Majekodunmi Aborode, got a dose of brutality at the weekend when policemen attached to Akobo Police Station, Ibadan, descended on him and beat him black and blue. He was also detained for five hours.

His offence was daring to obstruct traffic flow while the monthly sanitation exercise was going on in the state and also for beating up a police Inspector who challenged him.

But image-maker of Oyo State Police Command, Miss Olabisi Okuwobi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), stated that the commissioner was actually the one who assaulted the police Inspector, “tore his uniform, destroyed his rank and made the crest on his beret fell off.”

Narrating his nasty experience to newsmen on Sunday, Aborode explained that he was on patrol of the state to monitor the monthly environmental cleaning exercise when he got to Akobo bridge area where some cleaners were evacuating heaps of refuse.

“As clearing of the refuse was on, a police inspector emerged from nowhere, and ordered that we should leave the place, claiming that the car was causing traffic congestion, when indeed there was no vehicular movement at that time.

“The police Inspector threatened to deflate the tyres of the vehicle, if we did not leave. True to his threat, he went ahead to deflate the tyres. And at this point, my police orderly went to caution him against his action only for him (Inspector) to deal a serious blow on the innocent young man. It was at this point that I alighted from the car to rescue my orderly.

“Immediately the police officer, who was already drunk at that time saw me, he pounced on me and dealt a blow into my forehead and destroyed my eye glasses. When the people around started cautioning him that he was assaulting a state commissioner, he came to his senses and wanted to run, at that point I held him and told one of my aides to run to the DPO to report the matter,” the commissioner stated.

He, however, disclosed that one of the police officers in the patrol team had radioed the DPO “telling him a different side of the story.”

“Even without hearing from me, the DPO, who I learnt, is anti-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state ordered that I be put in the cell, occupied by hardened criminals with my orderly for five good hours. Despite the fact that ACP Lakanu had called him to intimate him that I was a serving commissioner in the state.

“How could I be treated this way for serving my people. I have lived in the UK for over 15 years. This has never happened. This country is a nightmare,” the commissioner added.

But in her reaction to the incident, Okuwobi stated that the commissioner deserved the treatment he got, contending that the commissioner went beyond his limit by assaulting a senior police officer.

“We should be the one running to the press over the assault on one of our officers by the commissioner. The commissioner was never assaulted by the police officer who was carrying out his lawful duty. In fact, if not for the fact that there was no court session on Saturday, he would have been arraigned immediately for engaging in an act unbecoming of a person of his status.

“The officer that challenged him was not just a police man but a senior police officer. So, while performing his legal duty as a commissioner in the state, he should not as well be engaged in illegalities. He was said to have caused obstruction on the road on the environmental sanitation day and when the officer told him to move his vehicle from the place, he moved close to him, dragged him, tore his uniform, destroyed his rank and the crest on his beret fell off,” the police image-maker alleged.

She said the command would go ahead to arraign the commissioner for assault of a police officer to serve as a lesson to other public office holders in the country...

Shocking!! 40 Year Old Mother Who Is Sleeping With Her Son Is Now Pregnant For Him And Wants To Marry Him!!
A mother and her son have done the unthinkable – they have fallen in love with one another. And now they want to marry since the mom is six months pregnant and expecting her son’s first child.

Betty Mbereko (40), who was widowed 12 years ago, has been cohabiting with her first child, Farai Mbereko (23). She confirms that she is six months pregnant and that she has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.

Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.

“Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong. “Let me enjoy the products of my sweat,” she told the village court.

Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents. “I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off,” he said.

“It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant. Otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity.”

But local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We cannot allow this to happen in our village, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a bad omen indeed).

In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police.” He warned them to break off their marriage or leave his village.

They chose the latter and have left the village for an unknown destination...
Politics › IG Orders Police To Rescue Rhodes-vivour's Wife, Daughter. by expertman(op): 5:50pm On May 13, 2013
IG Orders Police to Rescue Rhodes-Vivour's Wife, Daughter.

The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered the police to deploy resources and men to rescue the wife and daughter of Supreme Court Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, who were kidnapped on Saturday in Edo State.

This is just as the police have established a dedicated hotline for members of the public to provide useful information that would assist them in the investigation and apprehension of the culprits involved in the slaying of about 30 policemen in Nasarawa State last week.

THISDAY learnt sunday that more than 24 hours after the kidnapping of the wife and daughter of the Supreme Court justice along with their driver in Benin City, the abductors were yet to make contact with the family of the victims.

A source at the Supreme Court, who asked for anonymity, said the IG gave the order following a report by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr. Sunday Olorundahunsi, to Abubakar to intervene in rescuing the victims.

He said the IG immediately sent a signal to the Edo State Police Command and that had been combing the state for the victims, adding that nothing had turned up so far.

Reacting to their kidnapping, Lagos lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has appealed to the kidnappers to release Justice Rhodes-Vivour’s wife and daughter.

He said: “The kidnappers should know that Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour is the wrong target for this dastardly act.
He does not deserve this agony.

“Again, the justices of the Supreme Court have not contributed in any way to the destruction of our values that has pushed young men and women into this kind of unholy enterprise. Rather, they have indeed played a constructive role in preserving and sustaining our democracy.

“Therefore, I passionately appeal to the kidnappers, wherever they may be, in the name of the God they serve, to release unharmed the wife and daughter of Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour.”

In the meantime, as part of efforts aimed at encouraging communal participation in the investigation into the recent killing of policemen in Nasarawa State, the Police High Command has established a dedicated telephone line for members of the public who may wish to provide vital information to the police.

Also, in a bid to ameliorate the plight of the family members of the fallen police officers, the IG has ordered the immediate relocation of the force Welfare Officer, Mrs. Abiodun Ige, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), to Nasarawa State to enable her effectively and speedily coordinate all welfare related issues pertaining to the families of the late officers, including but not limited to the payment of all statutory and relevant compensations.

Abubakar appealed to Nigerians who may be in possession of information that could aid on going investigation not to hesitate to provide same to the police, promising that all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

The information, according to a release signed by the force spokesperson, Frank Mba, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), can be provided via phone number 07066228200 (calls or SMS) or email: policemonitor@npf.gov.ng
The IG said an attack on the security forces of any nation is an attack on the entire nation.

He also appealed to Nigerians to support the police as they strive to tackle this and other security challenges facing the nation.
Abubakar called for patience and understanding of family and friends of the slain officers, particularly as it relates to the issue of the release of the bodies of the officers, promising that all corpses will be released as soon as preliminary enquiries have been concluded.

While restating the commitment of the police to uncover and bring to book the perpetrators of this crime, the police boss reassured family members and friends of the deceased that the force was united with them in grief and will neither forsake nor abandon them at this trying moment.

Meanwhile, the AIG in charge of Zone 4 (covering Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau States), Mr. Mike Zuokumor, has on the orders of the IG relocated to Nasarawa State.

“A highly experienced and operationally-minded officer, is currently coordinating all ongoing operations relating to the incident,” the statement read.

Politics › Okupe: “the Attack Lion” Under Fire For Selling Poison by expertman(op): 5:07pm On May 13, 2013
Okupe: “The Attack Lion” Under Fire For Selling Poison As Wholesome Food! By Bayo Oluwasanmi.

We may disguise poison by mingling it with wholesome food, but that cannot change its nature. On the contrary, it is rendered more dangerous.
This is exactly what Doyin Okupe, President Jonathan’s senior image maker and propagandist attempts to do on the AJ Stream video interview posted on SaharaReporters May 8.

The Al Jazeera interview featured Omoyele Sowore, publisher SaharaReporters, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka in London, and Doyin Okupe in Abuja.

The interview was conducted by Femi Oke with background story by Yvonne Ndege, Abuja based Al Jazeera West Africa correspondent.

The focus of the interview is Boko Haram terrorism: destruction of lives, disruption of peace, and the distribution of fear and insecurity in the homeland.

Okupe in a cadenced, monotonous, and repetitive nonsense find it difficult to articulate Jonathan’s administration response to a terrorist group that has constituted itself into a government by fiat.

Okupe painstakingly miserly calculates the human costs of Jonathan’s inept handling of Boko Haram terrorists. “Trusting a fool to convey a message,” the Book of Proverbs warns us, “is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking a poison!”

The segment of the interview that I find amusing as well as disturbing is the issue of corruption as a factor for the rise of Boko Haram lunatics.
Oke asked his guests the factors that were responsible for the mayhem perpetrated and perpetuated by Boko Harams.

Soyinka says mammoth corruption, alienation, mismanagement and other ideological reasons made the recruitment of ready and willing foot soldiers for Boko Haram possible and available.

Sowore explains that like other problems that confront Nigeria, the Jonathan administration had no strategy or solution to halt the insurgency of Boko Harams.

Gesticulating with his hands as if he was cutting Okupe’s lies into pieces, Sowore begins his attack:

“Well, it’s a little bit of everything. It’s a cocktail of how Nigeria has been run in the last 40 years, and the law enforcement agencies have been involved in corruption over the years, they have destroyed the agency of security, they have destroyed the country, they have dehumanized its people.”

“You have every little problem in Nigeria escalating into a big thing. When we didn’t have Boko Haram, we had Niger Delta militants. As a matter of fact, a guy named Dokubo Asari threatened as we speak that if Jonathan the president does not become president in 2015, they’ll render Nigeria ungovernable.”

“Kidnappers in the eastern part of Nigeria have made it impossible for the people to bury their dead. So, Nigeria is badly run. Corruption has ruined Nigeria; it has dehumanized its people. “

“And these leaders are seen as people who don’t love their people, they don’t love the country and that is why you see Dr. Okupe when he was speaking he didn’t even know where this is coming from. He said they’re using force, they’re using dialogue.”

“But even as we speak today the amnesty they organized has failed because the army and elements in the military do not want the amnesty to succeed because this is where they make their corruption money from.”

“The military and JTF in Niger Delta are involved in some form of corruption called oil bunkering. They loved it. They love Nigeria the way it is broken and that’s why citizens should gather together and face up to our reality. We have a bad leadership in place that can’t get anything done.”

Okupe who appears in outward splendor but with a stolen complacency, in reality mocks the longings of his sin-sick soul – an evidence of inward corruption – shot back:

“… Sometimes one cannot but be ashamed about certain pseudo elites of Nigeria like Sowore and co castigate their own country and the leadership of their own country.”

“Being tucked away far away in the United States in the comfort zone it is a lot easier to just condemn various governments and various administrations in your own country.”

Truth is always narrow, but error goes off in all directions. In his comedy of lies, Okupe veers into many directions. Listen to him:

“Now I remember very well there was a time in Ghana when everything went down to the most basic thing, poverty became very difficult to live to the extent that people became displayed and they were moving away from their homes in Ghana, they flooded all the West Africa coast especially Nigeria.”

“What I’m trying to say is that in spite of ravaging poverty, Ghanaians did not take up arms against their country. They agreed there is a lot of youthful unemployment but that itself cannot explain the degree of devastation that Nigeria is facing from Boko Haram.”

“People cannot pretend not to recognize the new phenomenon that’s going on in the world. It’s a global thing…”

“Well, we have a major problem in Nigeria with this insurgency but the federal government in Nigeria is doing its utmost best to sort it out and I believe the Nigerian military security agencies have the capability to resolve this issue but because it’s an internal insurgency there is a need to have limited attack.”

By the way, who needs Okupe’s counseling by comparison? That Ghanaians didn’t “take up arms against their country in spite of ravaging poverty,” means Nigerians should follow such example of docility and imbecility?
Where was Okupe during the Arab Springs?

As if waiting for the big kill, after all we’re talking of a “lion,” Sowore pounced on his prey:

“I just want to say briefly to Dr. Okupe that I don’t like when they make comparison between Nigeria and other countries that are broken. They never made comparisons between Nigeria and other countries that are working because Ghana did not make $500 billion from oil by the time it had poverty.

“Ghana didn’t have the kind of land space, the rivers, the seas, the very, very, very progressive and hardworking people that Nigeria had when Ghana went through all of that.”

“We’re saying once again that it’s very convenient to accuse some of us who are trying to make Nigeria work that we’re tucked away somewhere abroad..”

“Dr. Doyin Okupe forgot that when the military was ravaging the land we were student leaders who were fighting on ground when the likes of Dr. Okupe were all running around doing deals with the military leaders and selling away Nigeria. And that’s part of the problem.”

“I reported on Dr. Doyin Okupe himself. He has been involved in corruption and that’s why Nigeria is the way it is today because he was detained for several months for corruption and see where he is speaking on behalf of Nigeria.”

“I see you laughing Dr. Okupe, jump in right quickly,” says Oke the moderator.

“… Because the guy that is talking to you is a huge joke, he’s a liar, a man without reputation and people who collect money and say anything to destroy people. You see him talking about corruption about me. There have never been charges of corruption against me, in fact this is what they do.”
Sowore goes on the prowl again:

“You were detained for corruption by the EFCC…” As Okupe tries to free himself from Sowore’s jaws, he angrily emits a shrill outburst: “Can you please shut up, you just disparate people and just mess them up. Because you have online media that does not give you right to destroy people’s rights and personalities.”

One of Okupe’s devices in defending all that is wrong with the Jonathan administration is to combine with falsehood just enough truth to give it plausibility.
Okupe calls Sowore and other critics of the Jonathan administration “pseudo elites.” It is an irony that Okupe who is the most qualified Nigerian with pseudo credentials, pseudo character, and pseudo integrity, and a con artist employed at the expense of Nigerian tax payers to trick and scam Nigerians.
Who should be ashamed?

Sowore or Okupe? Okupe is one of the vilest corrupt criminals often the recipient of gifts and attentions as if he had attained an enviable distinctions.

A man whose character and crimes cry for trial, Okupe is a shameless propagandist who profits from fabricating and hawking lies and other unpardonable deceitful wares.
Who is a liar?

Sowore or Okupe? The records show that each time Okupe opens his mouth, he oozes out a bagful of lies. We don’t need to go into details. We know the stock in trade of propagandists.

It is only in Nigeria that a person like Okupe with retarded morals and ethics will call Sowore “a huge joke, a liar, a man without reputation, who collects money and say anything to destroy people.”

Okupe knows he can increase his popularity as Jonathan’s spokesman by being false to his creed, and appealing to hatreds that have nothing to do with criticisms levied against him by Sowore.

Okupe’s only ultimate protection against his critics lies in misguided hatreds and lies which form the nucleus of his propagandist army. We see Okupe from time to time devoting our valuable resources to his propagandist army to the fostering of unreason.

Since he took over as the Attack Lion-in-Chief of Aso Rock Propagandist Army, he has demonstrated with passion and unreasoning emotion that planting and fertilizing of lies can always be better done by charlatans.

Nigeria has become a horde of robbers and assassins. Peace, rest, and happiness have been banished from the nation. Courts of justice are corrupt. Rulers are actuated by desire for gain and love of sensual pleasure.

Intemperance has beclouded the faculties of the people in power so that Satan has almost complete control of them. Jurists are perverted, bribed, and deluded. Dishonesty of every sort is represented among those who administer the laws.

Okupe in his warped wisdom excused Jonathan’s administration horrible cruelty as a result of the criticisms, scrutiny, and relentless pounding of the administration for corruption. He believes the criticisms are based on sentiments.

Dr. Okupe, have you ever at any time in your life been detained by the toothless and gum less EFCC? Yes or No? If the answer is yes, then what part of the corruption allegations preferred against you by Sowore don’t you understand?

Dr. Okupe, what happened to the N886 million road contracts awarded to you? Where is the money? Where is the proof of the road constructed by your phony construction company?

What part of your reputation if any, has Sowore damaged or disfigured?

The moral darkness espoused by you and your likes in the Jonathan’s administration favor the spread of superstitions, oppression, and increasing liberality in the revival of tyranny and corruption.

The infatuation of vice, the wanton taking of life, the terrible increase of evil and iniquity of every order and degree, should arouse all who fear God to inquire what can be done to stay the tide of evil in our dear country.

Needless to remind Dr. Okupe, brilliance of style in propaganda is not necessarily an index of pure, elevated thought. Through the mammoth system of deception by Aso Rock under your direct supervision, you have brought dishonor and wretchedness to Nigerians.

We cannot keep quiet while we watch the slow motion catastrophe in our country unfolding before our eyes. We’ll continue to criticize, scrutinize Jonathan’s administration filthy ideas and rich load of corruption cases. History is on our side!

*** A wise person will desire no more than he or she may get justly, use soberly, distribute cheerfully, and leave contentedly.

Politics › Man Slits Girlfriend's Throat & Had Sex With Her While She Bled To Death by expertman(op): 2:50pm On May 11, 2013
Please Mod I Dont Really Know The Proper Section to post this.

A 25-year-old bricklayer, Akinloye Anuoluwapo, has been arrested by the police for slaughtering his 21-year-old girlfriend, Rafiyat Akinyemi. Akinloye slit his ex-girlfriend's throat and had sex with her while she bled to death. Below is how Punch is reporting it...

Anuoluwapo slit Akinyemi’s throat at her family home in Magbon, Ogijo, Ogun state. Punch Metro gathered that Anuoluwapo allegedly murdered Akinyemi for her refusal to continue dating him.

An OND graduate of the Lagos State Polythenic Ikorodu, Akinyemi was said to be home alone last Wednesday, when Anuoluwapo came calling.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the embattled lovers, who had dated for over a year, split up late 2012 despite attempts by Anuoluwapo to prevent it.

It was learnt that Anuoluwapo knew that Akinyemi’s mother and siblings usually left the house before 8am each working day,.

He subsequently sneaked into Akinyemi’s family home at about 8.30am on the day of the incident. As expected, Akinyemi was alone.

Anuoluwapo was said to have made several attempts to have sex with Akinyemi. PUNCH Metro learnt that it was in the ensuing struggle that Akinyemi met her end.

Anuoluwapo, who is being detained at the Ogijo Police Division, said, “I don’t know what came over me, I just wanted us to reconcile and continue our relationship.

“Each time we break up, I am always severely affected; I converted from Christianity to Islam because I wanted to marry her.

“I even moved from my one-room apartment to self-contained accommodation so that she would be more comfortable. My visit was meant to be for a discussion but it degenerated into a quarrel.

“Akinyemi was not even aware that I had a knife on me when I forcefully had sex with her.”

The police said Anuoluwapo used the knife to cut Akinyemi’s throat and later had sex with her while she bled.

But the estranged lover claimed that she was still alive when he had sex with her on the couch in the sitting room.

Unknown to Anuoluwapo, some neighbours had seen him while he was sneaking into the house. It was gathered that Akinyemi’s corpse was discovered at about 4pm by her mother and siblings when they returned home.

Although neighbours suspected Anuoluwapo, none of them initially came forward with information. A police source said, “It was later, someone gave an anonymous tip to the police that Akinyemi had broken up several times with Anuoluwapo.

“He said each time; Anuoluwapo would get people from her community or the mosque where she worshipped to plead with her.”

No one knew where Anuoluwapo lived or worked. He had recently relocated from his home at Segun Kehinde Street, Ogijo to the PZ estate. In a bid to locate Anuoluwapo, police detectives were said to have picked residents who lived around Akinyemi’s home for questioning. Eventually one of the residents was said to have revealed Anuoluwapo’s place of work.

“A team of police detectives went to the company to arrest Anuoluwapo, but were initially refused entry. Eventually the Divisional Police Officer, SP. Toyin Afolaogun, had to come with the Divisional Crime Officer before Anuoluwapo could be arrested,” the source said.

A frightened Anuoluwapo was said to have immediately confessed his guilt upon questioning and led police detectives to his house where he had hidden the murder weapon.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident.

He said, “The shirt which Anuoluwapo had worn to Akinyemi’s house on the day of the murder was found hidden in a corner with blood stains on it. The knife was found in his home.

“From our investigations, Akinyemi was already dead when Anuoluwapo had sex with her. When her corpse was discovered, her legs were still spread apart and they had become stiff. Semen too was found on her private part. Akinyemi’s body was discovered exactly the way Anuoluwapo had left it when he was through.”

Politics › Yoruba Group Rejects Buhari’s Offer To Step Down For Anyone In APC. by expertman(op): 10:54am On May 04, 2013
A few days after former Head of State and the defeated candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 Presidential election, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari, offered to drop his ambition of vying for the presidency if a better candidate emerges, a socio-political group, Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, has expressed regret for his position.
In a statement by its Secretary General, Akin Malaolu, the group said that if Buhari steps down for another candidate, the alliance that brought about the All Progressives Congress (APC) would fail.

According to the group, at the critical time in the country’s history only Buhari would rescue the people from suffering. The statement reads: “We somewhat regret that the former head of state and 2011 presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, would offer to drop his ambition in 2015.

We want to warn that the masses of our people do not subscribe to that idea because of the prevailing situations of Nigeria today. “It should be crystal clear to all leaders of the opposition that only Buhari is acceptable to the Nigerian people because he is a genuine leader and if, by error, he is forced to step down or stabbed at the back, the masses of our great country would back out of the merger and this may signal the continuation of PDP in power.

It is not in doubt that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), together with its reckless political regime, have not benefited the people and this has been clearly confirmed by school children, housewives, artisans and our unemployed youths and just a few days ago, we witnessed the mass killings of hapless and helpless Nigerians in Baga province of Borno State and till now the government of President Goodluck Jonathan appears at ease with the development.

“Hunger, ignorance and disease have been our woes. We, therefore, beseech leaders of the opposition to rally round Major-General Buhari to emerge as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2015.”

Politics › CLUMSY RACE TO 2015: The Jonathan/amaechi Face Off. by expertman(op): 10:23am On May 04, 2013
Obviously shaken and scared, the presidency, with an incumbent who already seemed to have burnt his fingers too early in the governing of Africa’ most populous, diverse nation, midway to the end of first tenure in 2015, he is at daggers drawn with perceived political opponents in the same party.

Elected as President in 2011, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who claimed to have attended school without shoes while growing up, made promises on spreading dividends of democracy the people with his programme of Transformation Agenda, job creation, reduction of poverty, corruption, improved electricity and enhancing infrastructure among others.

But widespread insecurity particularly in the north, had blurred his vision and focus. Several thousands, mainly Christians have been killed, while properties worth billions destroyed.

Almost torn apart by internal crises within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governors elected on the ticket of the party, under the aegis of Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF led by Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State were politically dicey and unpredictable. Aso Rock was jittery, worried about NGF becoming a political power bloc, likely determining the future of Mr. president in 2015. Meanwhile, the national Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, had a running battle with the governors, but enjoyed absolute support of Jonathan, who feared his re-election bid in 2015 could be scuttled by the governors who had some grievances to settle with him.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi, as the NGF chairman, was seen as the arrowhead of the governors resistance to the imperial and dictatorial tendencies of the presidency more so as he was being alleged as having presidential ambition to be running mate to Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State in the 2015 race.

Even the opposition political parties were not relenting in their criticism of the Jonathan administration. They’ve alleged that he was not taking governance seriously, cannot be trusted, though promised to fight corruption, yet this cankerworm has become bydra-headed and getting more devastating as ever, no tangible promises made in 2011 realized, various committee reports put together with public funds were dumped into waste baskets. Oil theft, bunkering, subsidy fraud, inflated contracts galore. More Nigerians are without jobs in a spendthrift administration, fond of wasting scarce resources on white elephant, mundane projects not of benefit to the economic and social welfare of citizens. The Transformation Agendea has been described as amorphous and mere sloganeering with phantom, spurious statistics given by state departments to create wrong impression that things are going well.

The governors, embittered by Tukur’s leadership style and his nonchalant attitude to state chapters of the PDP, tried to box the chairman to a corner in what political analysts termed as their attempts (governors) to cage President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 presidential vote.

Undoubtedly, Governor Amaechi had not been comfortable with the pace of development in the Niger Delta region from where Mr. President hailed. Take the case of the East-West road which is supposed to run through the oil bearing areas of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta States which would also be of benefit to Abia, Cross River, Edo, and Imo in terms of trade, commerce and transportation.

Inability of the Jonathan regime to handle the East-West road with the urgency and efficiency required is causing carnage and fatal auto accidents daily in that critical area as the major stakeholders including the governors seemed worried.

It reached a point at which Governor Amaechi challenged the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, a kinsman of President Jonathan, to resign because he has failed to deliver in the region.

“I had gone through the region and no presence of his ministry was felt anywhere in the area of meaningful or people oriented projects. Under Orubebe, what development have we witnessed? None.”

Amaechi claimed that for every one project Orubebe can show him, that he had done in the Niger Delta region, he will show him 10 of sch projects in Rivers state. He advised him to face his work and make his presence felt in the region.

“After all, I don’t have any mansion anywhere, but I know Orubebe’s mansion. If he wants, we will show the world his mansions,” Amaechi was reported telling journalists in Houston, Texas, USA at a Town Hall meeting with Rivers State community.

He also clarified his rumoured presidential ambition which put him on collision course with President Jonathan. His words: “I cannot contest against Mr. President. We are from the same region. I respect him and he is a good man. I am tired of responding to this issue of presidential ambition. It is normal to have contrary views on some topics but it doesn’t transcend to hatred.”

Amaechi continued: “It is the likes of Orubebe that fans the embers of hatred. It is unfortunate that he can accuse me of corruption, nobody has accused me before. If he (Orubebe) wants us to go public any day, I am ready.”

Several things have happened between the two states – Bayelsa and Rivers which could strain relationships since the ascendancy of the Jonathan administration. The issue of disputed oil wells along the border towns in the two states still left much to be desired, with no amicable solution reached by both parties.

The Rivers government had accused various agencies of the Federal Government including the National Boundary Commission, NBC, of bias over the dispute. Although, Rivers has approached a court of law and got reasonable judgment, the government said that the decision of NBC and the Accountant General of the Federation to release the revenue proceeds from the oil wells to Bayelsa State was a clear case of injustice. As a result, Rivers had to pull out of the joint peace talks with Bayelsa interstate boundary.

According to the Rivers State government, to continue to allow Bayelsa State to take full benefit of some revenue proceeds from these disputed oil wells while NBC is in the middle of the delineation exercise, is “blatant injustice and therefore most unacceptable to Rivers State.

Tele Ikuru, Deputy Governor of Rivers had declared that under the circumstances, the commitment to speedy and transparent resolution of this “potentially volatile and protracted boundary issue cannot be guaranteed.”

Rivers State government had argued that the most effective and transparent way to make all parties genuinely focus on the settlement bid is by the immediate intervention of the Federal Government to direct the payment of all revenue proceeds from the disputed oil wells into an escrow account under the Accountant General of the Federation.

Rivers wanted all withdrawals hitherto made from and given to Bayelsa from the erstwhile escrow account maintained by the two state governments must be returned and a return to the status quo with regard to the 11th edition of the Administrative Map of Nigeria as reiterated by the National Boundary Commission.

In order to cut Governor Amaechi to size and bring him down as Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum, the presidency inspired a PDP Governors Forum with Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom as Chairman to undermine the NGF, make it irrelevant together with Amaechi. The aim of the presidency is to depose him and rid NGF of its influence in national politics, paving the way for full support of PDP governors ahead of 2015; as the Jonathan presidency saw Governor Amaechi as probably a stumbling block.President Jonathan has thrown his weight behind the candidature of Katsina governor, Shehu Shema as NGF chairman to replace Amaechi.

Presently, Rivers PDP executives have been replaced with that no longer loyal to the embattled Governor Amaechi, led by Felix Obuah who has suspended the speaker, deputy speaker, leader, whip and 23 other members of the state House of Assembly and declared their positions vacant, ostensibly for failing to rescind the suspension of Obio-Akpor Local Council executive and legislators. Earlier, an Abuja High Court judgement had removed the Pro-Aaechi executive led by Godspower Ake, which triggered the PDP crisis in Rivers State at the prompting of the presidency.

Matters came to a climax in Akure last Friday when the 700 Bombadier Global Express aircraft owned by Rivers Tate government to convey Governor Amaechi was temporarily prevented from leaving Akure for failure to provide a manifest. Thereafter, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCCA) said it was grounding the Rivers aircraft for operating illegally in the country as its documents had expired since April 2. In a swift response, the state Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari said all the documents were in order and had applied to the Minister of Aviation for the import license. It had been in the Minister’s office since September, 2012, the Commissioner claimed. But the new Chairman of Rivers PDP said, with facts available to him, the aircraft does not belong to the state and so Governor Amaechi should explain its true ownership.

In a Ray Power Radio programme called Political Platform aired in Abuja, the presenters expressed the view that, “the issue of 2015 presidential election is at the bottom of the Jonathan/Amaechi face-off”. At the same time a contributor reminded the two political leaders that they were not elected to wash their dirty linens in the public, but to provide good governance for the people. A top official of the Aviation Ministry had explained in the Radio programme, that an aircraft registered in this country can move within, but if from abroad, needs clearance to move about. He aircraft came from US into Nigeria. At Akure, it was found that it had no manifest of the crew and passengers, it is not a car which can move without a manifest. There was also no clearance. It had no fly plan. Aviation regulations were violated.

The Aviation official added: “Immunity is not impunity. This is about aviation regulations, not about politics.” The need for safety in air travel cannot be overemphasized considering important personalities and governor who died in private aircraft crashes including governors fatally injured;

However, the question here is about the timing of the action targeted at Amaechji to politically deal with him for romance with a Northern presidential aspirant. Prof. Wole Soyinka said it all when he expressed concerns over pettiness in governance at any level which is not appropriate for any government in a democratic situation to pay attention to unimportant issues rather than serious matters. To him, pettiness at any level is unbecoming of any democratic situation.

Celebrities › The Actress Who Lose Her Husband To Stella Damasus Speaks by expertman(op): 11:51am On Apr 29, 2013
Many people have been waiting to hear from Doris Simeon, the estranged with of Daniel Ademinoka on the issue of losing her husband to her fellow actress, Stella Damasus. Stella Dimokokorkus was able to speak with Doris on the controversy.
See details of the findings plus more below….

Beautiful Actress Doris Simeon is currently the centre of attention as her Ex hubby Daniel Ademinokan has supposedly married another controversial actress, Stella Damasus.

The news went viral went it came out and though I am still doing some fact finding, I decided to call Doris to hear what she can tell me as regards everything that has happened.

I wanted to know if she and Stella were friends at all
I wanted to know when exactly the ‘snatching’ started.
I wanted to know how she felt/feels
I wanted to know why she didn’t do anything to stop what had happened when it was happening.

I asked so many questions but Doris told me in a voice which sounded full of pain that at this time she just wants to concentrate on her work and forget about what has happened because:
”It has already happened…….”
She kept saying ”No comment”……The fifth..

Doris stood her ground on not wanting to talk or exchange words with anyone and I respect her stand.
I told her ”Doris, you have a lot of support right now, why don’t you talk, your fans want to know so much….”

Doris begged for privacy at this time and I understood and let her be.

Doris Simeon has a son with Daniel Ademinokan and I guess she is trying to keep it clean for her son’s sake.
When Doris and Daniel were Married I used to tell Daniel they were the best couple in town, their love was so plain to see. I don’t know what went wrong. I don’t know how or when Stella Damasus came into the picture.

I don’t know how or when Stella and Daniel met and started dating but I still think Doris needs to paint the real picture of what happened to help others going through similar situation and too embarrassed to talk out…… those too ashamed to let anyone know.

I know from fact findings that Stella and Daniel are a pair and they have several investments together which suggests they plan/want to stay together.

Celebrities › Photo: Female Singer Poses Semi-nude For N31m by expertman(op): 10:48am On Apr 29, 2013
The desperation for money and cheap popularity among ladies is getting out of hand:
We’re not believing a word of it but that’s what she’s claiming! Her name is Adokiye Kyrian Yvonne and until now she was relatively a nobody. (See another photo below)

She had however released a few singles in August 2012, one of which featured popular rapper, Olamide. We listened to the song, it was horrible at best.

Rivers-born Adokiye is claiming she got paid $200,000 and was also given a Mercedes Benz G Wagon for this raunchy photo spread which has been featured in a New York magazine.

She however fails to divulge further details like the name of the magazine, where and when the photoshoot took place, only leading to the speculation that it is another desperate PR stunt.
