the instruction says atleast a 2.1, and they will verify the credentials before allowing you sit for the exam

Go to the total careers website, and click advanced search and put "Nigeria" as the search term for Country. Goodluck

No, the application to heriot-watt is separate, then to the commonwealth shared scholarship is separate

this is true, I expect that the scholarship advert will be out soon with instructions and everything - last year someone I know failed to fill the email that they sent after, and eventually did not get called for the exam

The application is kind of coded, even tho it is online. There are some instruction you've to adhere to in order to acess the application page. Once you fill the form, they will send an email to you, pls check that email very well. Don't just assume it's a congratulatory mail that you've applied for the scholarship o.

No it wont be different, especially for both schools IFP (deadline 31st march) and Imperial College (certain programs close by march/april/may)

Yeah sure, I remembered some scholars had the same concerns last year. But I think this year will be different considering the fact that the shortlist will come earlier than it does last, so successful scholars will plenty time to seek for admissions.
Again its your choice guys, there is no harm in having an admission before hand

there should be a menu that allows you to select your references and shows you when they've uploaded their references

while this is good advise, for MSc there maybe some programs with early deadlines, people looking to study in one of those programs e.g Imperial College London or IFP school should look towards securing admissions, especially if they are particular about attending that school/program

Hello guys, I am one of the successful candidates for uk phd last year and I will be here from time to time to answer you Qs.
For those wondering if PTDF will secure admission for you, NO they won't, you will be responsible for securing admissions yourselves for all the overseas scholars.
Secondly, I will advice for you guys to chill and get the award 1st then worry about getting admissions later, cause I assure you, admissions won't be a problem once you have sponsorship (I got mine in 4 weeks and its a phd in univ of Manchester).
Lastly, once you have the award, you are free to change university of choice so far as the university is among the ptdf approved ones (it doesn't have to be the one applied for while submitting ptdf application), for uk scholars at least, don't know of other countries.

Maybe for older processes. For the new processes, PTDF will only engage one of the schools selected on your portal - Hence you must select those schools on the portal first, then proceed to secure admissions from them if you wish.

I would say that you secure admission for yourself in certain schools such as Imperial College London, because when PTDF finally releases the award list, schools like Imperial College London and IFP would have closed their admission application portal and you the candidate will have to select another school (from your list) whose admission application window is still open. These are for certain schools, it happened last year that some people were awarded the scholarship and it was too late for them to contact their first choice schools e.g Imperial College London, and had to settle for others

Let the decision that PTDF will select for you be your last option. Get admissions in good UK school

Yes better to move on, interviews in Nigeria were concluded this week.The only graduate engineer interviews that are left are for those in other countries UK, US, UAE, Australia etc.

You maybe right, uncomfirmed reports that final batches of invites were sent out today. I would believe that will take into account everyone in various locations ph uae etc

Guys it has been confirmed that except a miracle happens, there would be no further calls from HR. Sadly an absolute cut off mark was used and that favoured some courses more than others (depending on how hard your skills test was). God bless our hustle and quest for a better life somewhere else.
