In Northern California, the Camp Fire has raced across 70,000 acres since starting on Thursday morning, destroying 2,000 structures and killing at least five people who had no time to escape. That fire has devastated the town of Paradise, where officials say nearly every structure has been razed by out-of-control flames and five people were found dead in burned out vehicles early Friday afternoon. The Camp Fire is 5 per cent contained. When Paradise was evacuated, the order set off a desperate exodus in which many motorists got stuck in gridlocked traffic and abandoned their vehicles to flee on foot. * Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Lady Gaga's home and Will Smith's are at risk of being consumed by the wildfire. Five people have been burned alive in their cars by a wildfire in Northern California while officials warn that two other blazes ravaging the southern part of the state are zero percent contained, threatening to destroy thousands of homes. The notorious Santa Ana winds are expected to continue fueling the three fast-moving wildfires as they tear across large swaths of the coastal state. Over 240,000 have been evacuated across the state. In Southern California, nearly 150,000 people are under evacuation orders as a pair of life-threatening fires have overtaken more than 40,000 acres, with dry winds of up to 70mph push them westward toward the Pacific Ocean. Three wildfires are seen burning in California on Friday. The larger Camp Fire in the north has killed five and destroyed the town of Paradise. In the south, near Los Angeles the twin Hill and Woolsey Fires have forced an evacuation of Malibu. A home burns on Friday as seen from a helicopter in the Calabasas section of Los Angeles The smoke from the fire is seen from the Pacific Coast Highway as residents flee Malibu and nearby areas. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6371393/Southern-California-fires-force-evacuation-1-000-homes.html

Tanisha White from Winnfield, Louisiana, says she was beaten by police in an attack so bad it has caused her to lose the sight in one eye. Ms White explained that she was at a friends' house when she called Winnfield police for a ride home on Monday night, something she's done many times before. She believes a 'misunderstanding' led to her brutal attack. 'The police officer pulled the taser out and started shooting in my right eye,' Ms White said. She claims the police attacked her so badly it has left her blooded and bruised and with several broken bones, 'I couldn't see, I was screaming, It felt like I was getting electrocuted.' White has been in the hospital for three days and has now learned she will never be able to see out of her injured eye again. 'It's already hard living day to day, I have to stay with my parents you know, so this is just going to make my life even harder,' White said. She is an army veteran who suffers from PTSD, anxiety and depression. Louisiana state police are investigating the allegations. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6371775/Louisiana-army-veteran-tasered-EYE-loses-sight.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44

Cormorant fishing in China is a practice that stretches back at least 1,000 years. The birds dive and catch fish for their masters but are prevented from swallowing big catches by a snare tied around their throats. This beautiful image was captured in Guilin.
