Nearly a century of marijuana prohibition came to an end Wednesday, 17 October, 2018 as Canada became the first major Western nation to legalize and regulate its sale and recreational use.


"We're not legalizing cannabis because we think it's good for our health. We're doing it because we know it's not good for our children," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on the eve of the reform.


"We know we need to do a better job to protect our children and to eliminate or massively reduce the profits that go to organized crime."


In total, Statistics Canada says 5.4 million Canadians will buy cannabis from legal dispensaries in, about 15 percent of the population. Around 4.9 million already smoke.


Stores in St. John's in the Atlantic island province of Newfoundland were due to open their doors to pot enthusiasts as of 12:01 am local time (0231 GMT) on Wednesday.


Under the new regulations, Canadians at least 18 or 19 years old (soon to be 21 in Quebec) will be allowed to buy up to 30 grams of cannabis, and grow up to four plants at home.


A patchwork of private and public cannabis retail stores and online sales have been set up across the 13 provinces and territories, ramping up to 300 storefronts by year's end, the government predicts.


To meet demand, hundreds of growers have been licensed, some taking over horticulture and floriculture greenhouses.


This new industry has attracted billions in funding, as well as interest from alcohol and soft drink makers such as Constellation Brands and Coca-Cola, respectively, which have expressed an interest in developing cannabis infused drinks.


Cannabis sales are forecast to boost economic growth by up to Can$1.1 billion and provide a Can$400 million tax revenue windfall for the government, according to Statistics Canada.

My first, she came around 10am, Friday, 5th October, 2018 after so much struggle.


Labour started 3pm, Thursday, 4th October, 2018.

After admitting her, Doctor/nurses will check on her every 30 minutes to see how she's progressing.

From one cm to another took hours, rupturing of membrane manually with so much pain that brought tears to my eyes.

From back pain to stomach and legs. We couldn't sleep through the night.

2minutes of relief and 15minutes of pain, screaming.


The next morning, 5th October, she became so tired, talking was so difficult for her and that became the scariest moment of my life.

Moments later, the doctor called me to his office and said, 'we have to do the needful '.

He told me the bill and i was shocked, 'where would i get it? ' said to myself.

So they brought a document for me to sign, unknowingly, i signed where am supposed to put the date....Lol

They took her in, doctor said 'do you want to witness this? ' i said 'no'. I dont have the heart, i can pass out in there.

I was outside with friends and neighbors.

Moment later we heard ''ween ween ween ween", we all looked at each other and my neighbor 's wife said 'Sile that's your baby'

The door was opened, a nurse stepped out and asked 'who is the father?' i am and she handed her over, immediately, i started crying.

I was crying because of the joy in touching a baby that belongs to me for the first time, also remembering the pain my wife passed through for almost 24hours.


Then i also thought about my late mum, like she passed through this for me to come to life.


Men out there, do you still have a mum, your wife, the mother of your kids.

I think is time we cherish, respect and appreciate them more for what they've passed through and their sacrifice in the labour room/theatre.



I thank God they're both alive and well.

The 8 wont be total failure of the chute/gears. Like situations where the chutes failed to deploy and function effectively or where the divers couldn't control the chutes.

Let's say like 1 or 2 would fail to deploy in 1000 dives.

Dubai is one the most popular destinations for skydiving and base jumping. Inviting millions of jumpers/skydivers from around the globe because of the high rise buildings.

'The jumpers build an 'upright round' meaning they are holding hands in a circle, falling feet first toward the ground, while other jumpers dive through the centre of the formation.

'The divers then build a 'head-down round' meaning they are falling head first toward the ground and the upright flyers dive through the new formation.


This is not the first time daredevils have taken to the skies to perform spectacular yet dangerous stunts.






How long does it take to skydive from 15000 feet to the ground level?


Short answer: Around 70 seconds.

When you skydive, before deploying the chute, you’ll be falling at speeds of around 220km/h.

It’s fast and adrenalin fuelled.




If you’re jumping from 15000ft then this plane ride will last around 20 minutes before jump zone.

Now it’s time to jump.

When you first exit the aircraft, your airspeed quickly builds up until you reach terminal velocity.

Terminal velocity can be defined as “the constant speed that a freely falling object eventually reaches when the resistance of the medium through which it is falling prevents further acceleration.”

Once falling at terminal velocity you will be covering a distance of approximately 1000 feet every 6.5 seconds.


Your tandem instructor will deploy the parachute at 5000ft, meaning on a 15000 feet tandem skydive you’ll have around 70 seconds of adrenalin fuelled freefall.

It’s only a minute but it will feel like a lifetime.

After the freefall you have around 5 minutes under the parachute where you can take your goggles off, take in the amazing views and even get to control the parachute.
