The truth is whether it's Tinubu or Atiku or Obi, Nigeria can't get "better" overnight and this overnight stretches to 10-20 years. It's when one gets to the seat of power that one will know how badly Nigeria has been damaged. kokorokoman: sentiments will lead you no where, it is impossible to compare obaseki to lucky igbinedion, lucky igbinedion is light years ahead of obaseki. Sometimes I wonder if you guys are normal. Obaseki is not just the worse governor in edo history but the worse in the history of Nigerian politics. Where in your existence have you seen a governor campaigning with a renovated stadium and renovated state secretariat? Since you were born have you ever seen a governor campaigning with a pedestrian bridge? Comparing obaseki to chief lucky igbinedion is a big Insult to lucky igbinedion. Obaseki ruined edo education system from tertiary to primary to the extent communities now employ teachers by themselves, students now take chairs to schools by themselves an example is uhunmora secondary school, army day secondary school in Benin city. You said obaseki has done more quality of roads, you are a liar, what quality of road when the only few kilometers of road he did got washed away within few weeks, example is the ohovbe road he did at agbor Park. A man that ruled a state for over one year without a single commissioner? Have you heard that in Nigeria before? He has handed the state specialist hospital to his friend from delta state and poor edolites can't even access that hospital anymore. He shut down tertiary Institutions for years in the name of renovation, shut down new buildings built by his predecessor at new Era girls school for just no effing reason. This useless man has taken edo back to the 1990s Era again. This same flooding issues would have been addressed if he had continued the oshiomhoke water storm project but he has refused to continue the project. Upon all his borrowings nothing to show. If you claim his better than lucky, list his projects he has started and completed in seven years and I will list lucky igbinedion projects let's compare them. It's really this bad? |

My school fees was 250k which is even cheap and it motivated me to study hard. Nowadays you will see students saying school na scam etc.they lack for passion for education yet they are in schools for what? clubbing, fornicating, scamming and other immoral acts because they know their school fees is a meagre. Later they'll say they can't get jobs, same thing applied to those " who dey learn work ". They won't focus, some will ran away without completing their training. The pomp and pageantry with which they celebrate their " freedom " , soon fizzle out as customers begins to walk out on them, due to poor job delivery. In this same country, some people are being begged to come and take jobs and some can't even get any kind of job. Nigerian youths needs a lot of deep thinking. |

FreeStuffsNG: Those who think education is expensive should try ignorance.
Now it's clear to everyone that the FG has been hugely subsidising education yet the ungrateful unpatriotic beneficiaries of this heavily subsidized education will immediately transfer the education overseas and still turn around to talk down on Nigeria. Smh. They will lose! You can not cheat Nigeria, Nigerian tax payers and go scot free.
Very soon, these FG schools will be charging cost reflective school fees while indigent students will get loans to pay it. Hardworking, brilliant indigent students will get 100% full scholarship and bond to serve for few years to repay so others behind them can get same scholarship.
The welfarist system of the state drove the nation into monumental debts and widespread multidimensional poverty that produced a largely mediocre set of unpatriotic graduates with entitlement mentality. Imagine generations raised on fuel subsidy, electricity subsidy, education subsidies, health subsidies, free money cash transfer of npower, ponzi schemes, crypto etc, yet they spend most time idling away on Twitter, NL and other social media platforms. That's a legion of generations of largely unproductive lot! It is not sustainable anymore as our debts keep mounting and more youths get used to easy and fast money.
Our universities will now be forced to go back to the days people know why they are in school and will face it squarely to come out with great grades. NUC should equally ban federal universities from admitting JAMB candidates who score less than 200. It's ridiculous that university of Calabar (UNICAL), at almost 50 years of its existence, admits failed JAMB candidates who score 140 How on earth should FG be subsidising the education of a mediocre student who scored 140 out of 400. That's a 35% fail score!Employers should think twice before hiring products from schools giving admission to such students UNICAL recruits for undergraduate study. It's a fraud to admit failed JAMB candidates into a govt university funded with tax payers money!
Everyone must do the right thing to return this nation back to her consistent winning ways. Parents will now take parenting serious because the era you born excess hoping that govt will feed, clothe , train and educate them for you is gone. May God bless Nigeria for ever!Check my signature for free stuffs! +1000000 gbosa for you. |

Politics › Re: FG Should Fix Our Refineries And Stop The Sharing Scams by Extremekofoshi: 10:35am On Jul 21, 2023 |
TruthinAction: I am so shocked that a large percentage of Nigerians don't know how to make the right demand. What is this nonesense about sharing money as palliatives that will not take the poor out of poverty. Besides, there are countless millions the money will not get to.
So, if we have good revenue that far exceeds previous month's revenue, FG should use the money to fix our refineries.
When our refineries are fixed, the pump price of petrol should drop which will in turn bring down the inflation rate.
Other good alternatives are;
1. Build gas stations all over Nigeria and begin to convert petrol engine cars to be able to use gas to run. You spend far less when you run your cars on gas. For instance, if you spend 5,000 naira on petrol daily, gas will cost you just about 1,500 naira.
2. Invest the money on security. Set up CCTV camera on several places and on our highways.
3. Empower local vigilante to be able to curb the security challenges we are faced with.
4. Buy buses for transportation to run within towns and cities at low cost.
5. Build thousands of low cost housing so people will spend far less on rents.
6. Build more markets so that people can rent shops at low cost to trade.
7. Invest in agriculture. Build irrigation facilities so that farmers can farm for the 12 months of the year. Get involved in mechanized farming. Let the groundnut pyramid of the early 70s return back again.
8. Massive industrialization. Why can't we set up new industries to start producing many things that we import. For instance, can't we produce try circle aka Keke. It's annoying to hear that the price of that toy is getting close to 2 million naira. Why are our leaders so wicked. There are many other things we can start producing. Naira value is dropping daily because we are a consuming nation.
I can actually write a whole book on this.
Let's stop the scam of sharing money as palliatives and fix this country. American government get refinery?. If no, then rest abeg. Did you realize how many times billions of dollars had been sunk, into that bucket shop you called refinery?, with nothing to show as result?. All over the world, refinery are private business, Nigeria should not be an exception. |

1.The oil price is way below the fiscal breakeven for Nigeria.
2.We still have debts to pay...we are spending large parts of our revenue on debt servicing....so that money has to be replaced.
3.Subsidy removal means paliatives..which have to be paid for...loans.
So, not yet uhuru. Agreed but one must start from somewhere, the era of wasteful spending don pass o. If Nigeria no build her foreign reserve, dollar go sell for # 5000 in this country.
