Yes, you need to take another English test in the UK. It must be the Level A2 test. Here is a list of the tests offered by Trinity College London:
https://www.trinitycollege.com/site/?id=3218. Alternatively, you can Naric if you have acquired a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree taught in English.

I recently did the same exam and it was very easy. Just a chat with one white woman and she showed some random pictures taken in the UK and asked me to describe what they were.

Good luck
Thanks this is very helpful. Will register for the exam asap.

Hi, if you go through the thread, you will see a detailed list by phardey and newbie, I used exactly the documents they posted on the thread, didn’t even add anything extra and I got my visa within 4 weeks. I will advice you go through it. And you can get same day decision, it’s about 600 pounds and you need to book your appointment at least 45 days to the date you intend to submit your documents because they gets filled up quickly. All the best!!!

Thanks for your response do I need to take the English test as I did one before I did my previous application while in nigeria.

Hi,

There is a thread for spouse visa extension FLR (M) for future enquiries, however, the answer to your question is you need to extend your spouse visa for another 2.5 years as you are on the 5 year route. The 2 year route is not applicable to you. It's for people who applied for the initial spouse visa before 9 July 2012.

For your second query, you can apply from 28 days before the expiry of your current visa.

Thank justwise, apparently my mum's passport has been out and visa granted since 10th Dec. But we did not recieve email or text message.. a frd of mind who also applied for same 5 days expedited visa told me he appiled this jan and got it 6days lrt.. i told my sister and she was furious and went to the office that she was going to complain about our mum's own, only for her to get there they said the passport has been out since dec so here is the timeline.

Biometrics Dec 6th
Got a call from ECO 8th Dec
Visa issued 10th.

This is not uncommon as many have gone through this experience before here, you just have to wait until they get back to you.
Hi justwise and all the Guru's in the house i need advise .. my journey here started in 2016 when i applied for settlement visa to join my hubby.. took about 6 months but visa was finally granted... anyways i have another issue now.. i applied for my mum to come over ( visitors visa) we paid for priority 5 days, Biometrics was done on the 6th of Dec i got a call on the 8th from home office (interview ) or ECO which ended with her saying ok thanks so much for your time hopefully your mum will see you soon.. i was happy bcause that sounded reassuring.. but till now her passort is not out its been way over 20 working days, i called them and they said its still under processing..

We applied that my husband and I are the sponsor, i work in a bank here annual pay is around £18k and hubby is self employed with turnover of over £40k we added our bank statements, we also included our nigeria coy with regular activity and balance of just above N10m , my mum is retired and also provided landed properties docs and bank statment showing her pension and also monthly up keep from her kids which comes to average of N120k. Monthly ... i dont understand what might be causing the delay and now am getting worried.. my mum is looking forward to the trip it would be disheartening if the visa is denied....

Hi Guys

Has anyone had to wait nearly 2 weeks to get a decision made email? I called the HO, they said a decision was made on 28/09/16. They said that it could still take some time for the passport and documentation to get back. My husband is beginning to think it they have lost his passport.
This whole process is so long! I would advise anyone planning to do this settlement visa to pay priority. I wish I did because it is not worth the wait.
The biometric was done 20th April 16.

Yes i think the two week wait after decision has been is normal, the only anxiety you are experiencing is you were told too early. I got the email of decision made on the 10th and passport ready for pick up 15th , on the visa the decision was actually made on the 6th. 6th to 15th is about two weeks. So any time from now you will get the ready for collection email. Just calmdown d wait is almost over. Dont worry the decision will be favourable by God's grace. The only issue is d visa is uaually one month so my advise is your hubby sld start packing bcs he may have less than two weeks to leave .

Hello all, update on my settlement visa,
March 9th application submitted online
March 11th 2016 Biometric
May 25th a not straight forward email
Afterwards long silence, by june and july , my hubby and i started calling them, and did various escalations
in july escalation reply came that they were still working on it
August 12th my hubby wrote to the MP
MP called him two days later that they have contacted home office on our behalf,
August 22nd MP wrote to my hubby with home office response that the application is on active consideration and they were still checking our financial and personal circumstance. ( note no interview was done and no additinal documents were requested)
Sept 10th got an email from UKBI that a decision has been made
Another email from TLS on the 15th that passport is ready for collection
picked up same day
VISA GRANTED... yippee, i cant thank God enough
personally i think they forgot they forgot about my application but the good thing is regardless of that in the end it worked out for my good
Total wait plus weekends and holidays 7 months, total work days excluding weekends and holiday 130 days or thereabout
it was a long and stressful wait, but it ended in praise.
Habakkuk 2 :3 is the scripture that sums it up.

hey sorry to hear of your frustration, I would most definitely get onto your MP, you only have to wait for the 60 working days to pass, not the 120

a girl I know paid Priority from Egypt and waited 4 months she got onto her MP not that he did alot, but her husband then went to enquire and they lost her paperwork, after help from someone she happened to know who works there they found it, lo and behold she needed to submit additional papers(that were supplied) and finally got a YES last week smiley

after 90 working days of waiting for my uk settlement visa, we called and they said they couldn't track my application, i also sent an email and below is their response, the information i gave is correct, i dont know why they cant track the application.

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service. We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status GWF and date of birth
and found that there are no current updates. This could be
because your application was submitted recently or the details that you
have provided above are incorrect.

my application was submitted march 9th and document received by them on the 13th of march. Any suggestions on what we sld do? my hubby wanted to contact their MP but since it wasn't 120 days yet i told him not to.

I would contact them via https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-outside-uk as this is quite long and you are on 86 working days which you can check... http://www.timeanddate.com/date/workdays.html

if unsuccessful contact your local MP to assist.

@ Portsmouth86 Thanks alot my hubby will also call them on Thursday from the uk as follow up , after this long and agonising wait they just have to grant me the visa, i even thought my travel history would help fasten the process, since i have been there a couple of times before and after our marriage
