firstly, ignorance of d law is not an excuse and any cultural norm or practice that is repugnant to d rules of natural justice, equity and good conscience is null and void. Take for example, d killing of twins was a cultural norm in Calabar bt it's a crime under d law. Female circumcision is a norm in some parts of Anambra state and not even regarded as a crime in our laws, yet d practice is frowned @ by all. That's my humble submission dear.
