Lol...ok. Thanks. BTW guess u intend to or are applying for the University of Edinburgh scholarship? If yes, is it both TOEFL, IETLS and others that are required for the test of English or one can present either?
I think Edinburg is in the UK.
If am right, i don't think UK schools need GRE, i stand to be corrected.
Also, I think it is always either of TOEFL or IELTS

Thank you Lord.
Finally got to the last page; i sha skipped some of the pages oo, i can't fit kee myself.

I have always dreamed of going back to academics over the years. Life happened to me and i derailed into an unrelated field and after 3 years, the much awaited opportunity presented itself.

I got provisional admission at Ohio State with full funding plus RA position. The stuff needed to seal the deal is GRE and TOEFL. Prior to march, i didn't know jack about these exams but man gat take am. I consulted some of my friends and as God may have it, one of them was a major contributor to this platform and he punished me by requesting i go through the thread from the very beginning, hian. I sha don try.

I thing i have come to realize about this exam like other is that it requires one having the right resources, information, zeal and time. If any of these is missing, i don't think one gonna hit target.

I have decided to takeout one month to do intensive study. Below is my strategy

1. Do the diagnostic test on Powerprep
2. Get the Magoosh 30 days study schedule
3. 10 hours study per day
4. My resource for Quant will be Manhattan 8 series, 5lb and Official guide by ETS
5. For verbal, Manhattan for RC and SE, the andriod app stuff for vocab building and Manhattan 500
6. The Magoosh video is a must see.
7 Kaplan for AW
8. Magoosh premium account (my one month go expire 19th June). God may raise a good Nigerian to epp me with one

Please, if there is any essential material I missed out, assist identifying.
So, that's it. let the chase for Spring 2019 begin

Thanks to progenitor of this thread. I owe you guys alot and will repay this altruistic gesture by referring other peeps in need

Good morning distinguished programmers.

Please i need your advise on the matter below

My younger brother didn't make good score in jamb that'd guarantee him a place in engineering school.
His next option is polytechnic but I'm of the view that he should come over to lagos to learn programming thing and also prepare for jamb next year.

Please which programming should i enroll him? I would appreciate if you also suggest affordable learning center.

happyday:
If you've proceeded beyond the PST, that's good. In most McKinsey offices, you'll have two interviews (first round) - each interview half case and half behavioral fit. Then, you'll have the second and final 2-4 interviews with partners in the local office where you applied to. Prepare very well for the cases, find case buddies to prep with (use PrepLounge.com), and brainstorm on some outstanding achievements for your behavioral fit interviews.

All the best!
Lotta thanks boss

Toseman, You've started well.
I once had interest in this field, especially the McKinsey path. First, there's a reason why they are paid that much (your ballpark figures are right). . . the process is fiercely competitive. Abroad, the application process no be here, but a little bit friendly here in their Nigerian office.
You need to be truly exceptional, be top amongst your peers, which would get you a chance to write their PST - a test you can't write without intense prep on accuracy and speed.
Thereafter, you go through series of interviews - behavioural and case interviews.
Behavioural interviews draw on your ability to share past experiences, and how you can bring such expertise to bear.
Case interviews is where the work is at. They give you a client scenario, and ask what would be your advice; which is the kind of work you'll be dealing with as a Consultant.
In all, you need good resources and intense practice all through.
Above all, God's mercy is paramount. Some factors are simply beyond our control; some call it luck or goodwill.
Good morning happyday.

Seems you've got Lotta insight to mck recruitment.
Please I'd appreciate if you can provide insight to stages beyond PST.

thanks

Across the Niger,
A place filled with lush vegetation,
My alma mater to be precise
I found a prettiful damsel
Endowed with the gift of amazons
But gentle as a dove

I spent few hours with her in a bustling city
A few hour that was like an eternity to me

Every evening and morning I think about her
I wish I could move her school or move my work station

Oh! I wish a country
With good rail system
In a blink I see her and back to my base.

But I do remind myself that she's in the factory to restore her dignity like I did some years back.

A dignity that mine would synergize to guarantee better tomorrow for we both.

But,

My hopes and dreams are vessel of hope, fuelled with believe.

Your belief would be the lubricant that would move this wheel of hopes.

Let's enjoy this ride and see where it'd lead us to.

Deep down, My belief leads us to Eldorado
A destination
Indeed our destination

I still doubt. Training school is once a year and that's TRPS. They would probably get everybody and funnel them straight down September.... that's why KPMG is infamous for delays. They channel all graduates to September. An insider could help.
KPMG recruit for April and September. Though the training is for September, the April batch learn on the job.

The current recruitment is geared towards April.

Woman! your approach will only work for small firms. Big organisations have formal structure for recruitment.
My candid advice is/are
1. save your money for Internet and phone calls, you will need to be online and catch information on-the-go.
2. Save your time and effort to prep for GMAT style aptitudes. i.e. SHL, Assessment day, GRE, GMAC formats.
3. Save your suit and heels for PwC interview.
4. Refer to (2) above, your prep should be at 90% level. Top-rated companies are competitive and do NOT use cut-off points, they use percentiles. i.e. if they plan to interview 200 candidates, only the best 200 candidates are invited. The top 200 candidates can fall within 90% and 100% test scores. Someone with 89% did very well but MIGHT not get invited.

Best of Luck
I can't agree any less.

@OP

I feel your disappointment. you should not be desperate to land a job. if you have wanted to start working immediately after service, this should not be the best time to submit your cv, you should have applied to openings four months before the end of your service.

Other corp members should take this advise because no firm will accept your cv and immediately call for interview.

just be patient and be submitting your cv anywhere and don't put your mind on them. leave your line open and prepare because they will call when they feel like

You should also read secondary school physics textbooks.
thanks. I got no engineering background, hence have no idea of mechanics. The question arose out of curiosity after considering some empirical knowledge from geography. I'm still finding the concept of Foucault_pendulum pretty difficult to understand. would appreciate it if you could break it down to a layman's language. thanks
Science/TechnologyIDEA OF NEW FORM OF TRANSPORTATION by Ezehrobinson(op): 11:46pm On Oct 25, 2015
To my dear physicists, Geographers and weird thinkers
I have been pondering this idea for the past three years and I think it’s time I break the silence by letting the world know what its all about. I know some will laugh it off because it may seem silly but when you look deeper, you will see the merit which I wish should be subjected to scientific reasoning or investigation before it is disproved.

Here it is;
We were told in our secondary school geography that the earth undergoes two forms of movement; rotation around its axis and revolution around it orbit.
In twenty four hours, it is expected that the earth should have completed its rotation; this means that the all part of the earth must have encountered the sun which is stationary.
In the course of this rotation, the earth carriers everything that is directly or indirectly attached to it surface.

My question goes thus;
If a body could be suspended independent of the earth’s surface, will such a body still undergo this rotation with the earth?
If the answer is NO, I think that a new form of transportation has been birthed. This is because once the object is suspended, that particular point of earth moves away from it (due to rotation) and lets say in the next four hours, that object will be in another location that arrived.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hello KPMG aspirants, I think I have this piece of info to share that you may benefit from.

The news of KPMG test being once in a life time is not myth, it is true. This means that you have to be prepared (by studying gmat, reviewing their past questions and asking all questions) before attempting.

here is my submission.

One criterion is that you must not be more than 26years as at the time of application. what this entails is that only those at the threshold of this age should rush in honouring the apt test invite.
those that are 24 and below still have two years to prepare.

NB: Once You Are invited For The Test And You're Not Prepared, Just Ignore the invite. They will keep on sending you invite always because it is automated.

so, take your time and prepare, if you are out of lagos on an engagement, don't be scared cos you must surely be invited.

One last thing.

This present recruitment is geared toward April 2016. so whether you write now OR December or February, there's no difference.

happy preparation and success..

those writing in vi (kpmg Tower) will all write 30 minutes essay while those slated for ikeja (jkk) will write essay if they pass the psychometric test.
