Hello people, been stalling on sharing my birth as I was waiting to receive all my bills. Had my baby in July through c-section delivery at Sisters of Charity hospital, Buffalo in New York. For those interested in birthing in New York, bills are
Hospital: mother 4861, child: 1491 for self pay.

Doc: (used Buffalo ob gyn) I was quoted 2200 for c-section and 2k for vaginal delivery but ended up paying1450$. I met with the billing manager and she billed me based on the number of visits I had. I had only 3 visits with them before my surgery and she said 1k is their cost for surgery.
Epidural: 800 on the condition that I pay before surgery. Their initial quote was 3k. Thank God I called before the surgery.
Am still waiting for the Paediatrician bill for hospital visit
After discharge Paediatrician visit: 153$
Ultrasound:130$
Hiv: 130$. It's compulsory for one to do the hiv test.
In all, God really showed himself and one thing I learnt is we could always ask for additional discount. All thr best to everyone. The phone numbers are on the website.
For the doctor's office, I was rotated between two doctors. the one that took my delivery isn't so patient friendly, they spend little time with you as they are in a hurry to attend to the next person. But they know their job. So if u need a doctor that would gist with u, u could check another doctor office.
Wow, it is interesting....I need to know more about this your Newyork package...

No need to renew it.
Even if ur visa is expiring in 3 days time and u enter the US today it's at d discretion of the cbp to stamp u what ever duration he so pleases.u get? So don't waste ur money and time applying again.

The most important is for the visa to b valid when u r entering not when u r leaving
Thanks for your information and advice...I will do exactly what u said....Thanks once again...I m really happy to identify with this group...kudos to all

Hi everyone, this thread has been so helpful. Thanks to all of you. My sister got a visit visa (2yrs multiple) to US last week. She's actually 7 months pregnant and her husband wants her to go give birth in the US. but the fears they have is that
1)shes 7 months pregnant, will she be allowed to fly?
2)at the point of entry, won't they question her and ask her what she's coming to do? And if f they ask, what can she say, knowing fully well she's 7 months preg
3)if they eventually give her 3 months stay in the us, if she delivers the 3rd month or late 2nd month, I think it will be to early for her to travel back to Nigeria, can her 3months stay be extended by at least a month?
This has been d questions we have been asking. Pls we need the gurus here to assist. Thanks...
@1) She is allowed to fly even upto 33wks (8-months). All she needs is a Fit to flight report from Nigeria hospital
@2) She should get her hospital correspondence ready and also call US Embassy to tell them her new intention of using the Visiting visa for Child birth. Whatever advice she is given will help her to answer the POE question.
@3) At POE she will be stamped in for 6-months not 3-months.

Hello, does this price includes the cost of materials or just labour?
@ Dieumerci; Yes, it is both labour & material

You will need to clarify things from him: He might have purposed to just install POP cornice and ceiling screeding only on the decked flats AND POP ceiling on the 2nd floor. However you need to clarify from him if the rate of N2700/M2 he is offering you for POP ceiling on the 2nd floor includes cornice. If he says it does not, then that rate is high. The rate for POP cornice (N1100/M) alone isn't that bad though you can ask him to reduce the rate by N100-N200.
@Olumide4christ; Thanks alot, he has complied to reduce the cost of cornice to N1000 per m.
PropertiesRe: Ask All Your Questions On Building Foundations/structural Issues -expert by Ezemistic: 1:47am On Jan 18, 2016
olumide4christ:

You're very right and don't be confused; cornice is measured in linear metres. But I have found out by experience that these POP casters charge for both POP ceiling and cornice per m2; the rate they offer you assumes that cornice is part of the ceiling and thus, no need to charge a different rate for cornice. That's my experience with dealing with this local POP guys, both those from Cotonou/Togo and our Nigerian guys.

Note that the more articulated or should I say advanced POP installers who have registered companies might separate ceiling from cornice and charge differently, but I guess only the corporate bodies and the moneybags may patronise such people.
Thanks Olu; @olumide4christ; A POP installer charged me N1100 per meter for cornice (for the deck floor) and N2700 for ceiling per squaremeter. From his quotation i discovered that for 2-storey bulding the top floor was charged N2700 per square meter without considering the cornice, but for the deck floors the cornice was charged separately from the ceiling POP. My question is that is the cost not over hyped?

Hi befto,

To answer your question, I think a major issue is the location of your project since you said it is for rentals. POP ceiling and wall screeding, irrespective of their advantages or disadvantages, increase the sale or rental value of properties. If your project is located in a medium -to - high-class area, you may have no choice but to use POP ceiling and wall screeding in the upper floor areas and POP screeding to the ceiling on the ground floor; otherwise, your property may not be able to command the going rents in the particular area.

On costs, POP is usually costed per m2, though the rates are cheaper in some places than others, thus, your location again is critical. Based on my experience in working in Lagos & Abuja in recent times, POP is cheaper in Abuja than in Lagos, just as so many other materials and even labour is cheaper in Abuja than Lagos; don't really know why. I will summarise below:

ABUJA- POP ceiling with cornice (N2700 - N2800/m2); POP wall/ceiling screeding (N300 - N400/m2)
LAGOS - POP ceiling with cornice (N3000 - N3500/m2); POP wall/ceiling screeding (N500 - N700/m2)

Note that the rates above include both materials and labour supplied by the person doing it. I have also noticed that it is much more expensive if you decide to buy the POP materials yourself and pay the installers for labour only; thus its better to give them both materials and labour, but negotiate the rate.

Hope this helps.

@ Olumide4christ; Thanks for the info. I am a bit confuse with the per square for cornice, I thought cornice should be in meter?
