I would expect this post from a member of a tribe that continues to be jealous of the Ndi Igbo. It is quite sad I must say. However, the writing is on the wall. |

Politics › Re: Aburi Accord by EzeUche0(m): 2:05pm On Nov 03, 2010 |
Becomrich0: Aburi accord is not possible any moment. So drop it. First of all there is no way the Akwa ibom, cross river etc would agree to go with the igbos. that why you have MEND who destroy oil pipeline. They do not want to go with the igbos.
It is even more easy for the Yorubas to get the igbos to join benin republic with the rest of south nigeria than get that to happen. the southern minority would never prefer that they go with just the igbo, they do not feel save. Dont have problem with igbos. With the north, it is the issue of oil revenue and seaport. that why the need for the open border with NO immigration officer should be the key. So that the north can travel goods and service easy.
Aburi accord is a No, NO at this point. It is not possible. It is a give and take . The north would not agree to aburi accord again. You are wrong. Many of the Cross River and Akwa Ibom communities supported Ojukwu's agenda as long as some of the Eastern Ijaws. All Eastern communities were devastated by the pogroms in the North. It didn't matter if the Igbo, Ijaw, Ogoni, Ibibio, Ekoi. We all suffered, and no one protected the Eastern people. Ojukwu stood at a time, when no one else would. That is why he is widely respected in the East. Many people believe in Biafra. Great Igbo minds, wanted to make the nation succeed. Even the wise Igbo sage, Chinua Achebe was in favor of Biafra. Biafra will forever be on the minds of the Eastern people. We tasted freedom, and stood up for what we believed in. No one can take that away from us. |

Northerners still feel that the oil started in the north and drained into the Niger Delta. Foolish people. |

Ibibios are the largest ethnic group in the Niger Delta.
If you include the Annang and Efik. They speak the same language in many ways. I can understand an Efik and Annang man quite easily. |

jason12345: according to your map, you are in the middle. good for you .
the niger deltas are characterised by the ijaws, itsekiris, urhobo, etc not igbos. igbos are ""settlers"" in niger-delta Settlers? We Igbos are not settlers. Ijaws did not originate from Eastern Nigeria. We Igbos have always been present in Nigeria. They are the only settlers in the East. Ogoni, Ibibio, Igbo are all native to the Niger Delta. Learn your history. |

jason12345: bro, you cannot claim niger delta. if you do. you are a minority. you are an igbo indispora. the igbos in nigeria will never claim niger delta and vis-versa. atleast, thats what i think . i am not sure because i have not been to nigeria in some yrs The Niger Delta is a geographical area, not some political area like some people erroneously try to make it. Its tributaries flow through Igboland. That is the Delta. And I will not allow some Northerner and some Yoruba tell me about my land. |

jason12345: you are kidding right no one is subtracting the igbos but they are not from niger delta they are igbos. its like saying the igbos in lagos are yorubas. but when its time for census they al went back to the east. the same is most likely to happen in the niger delta Do you know where the Niger Delta is located? Here is a map if you did know. You see Igboland? Igbos have oil, Ijaws have oil, Ogoni have oil, Ibibios have oil, Itsekiri have oil.

chyz1: I did not annex any state into the Niger Delta.Niger Delta is NOT a political region nor a state, it is an area and by definition whether any one agrees or not Ondo, Edo, Delta, Imo,Abia are also in the Niger Delta. It's not my map, it is the nigerian government's. Gbam! Igbos have been present in the Niger Delta for CENTURIES. You cannot subtract the Igbo from the Niger Delta. |

I am a true Niger Deltan.
I can claim Abia State, since that is my ancestral home. And I can claim Akwa Ibom State which is my home as well. |

He knows that we have been his defender from Yoruba and Northern aggression. They even defended him when he came under attack by me, and I am an Igbo man. |

alj harem,
You are a fool. I am a mixture of these "minorities" and most do not have any ill will against their Igbo neighbors. We were all neighbors before there was a Nigeria, and we will be neighbors after a Nigeria. |

tensor777: True. But what action do you want to see? There is already too much criminality and banditry in that region. I want the Igbo people to rise up. We need to deal with the thieves and crooked politicians that inhabit our region. I go by the words - ONE BULLET ONE (THIEF, KIDNAPPER, Crooked Politician) |

Onlytruth: Largely incoherent piece. Pure rant. Agreed The fictional "South-South" was created to divide the East. And to keep the larger Igbo group from oil. One day, the world is going to move on from oil, and when that day happens, I will be laughing, because we as a people did not rely on this resource. |

I am tired of this "woe is me" nonsense.
We Igbos need to grow some balls. No one cares about our marginalization so instead of whining about it, I want to see some action. |
