Beaf:People tend to underestimate the strength of Boko Haram and its widespread appeal. They target everyone from their own politicians and outsiders. There will be an uprising in the North, and the Emirs and the political leadership will ask for the South's help. However, they allowed their region to go underdeveloped so they have to be prepared for the consequences. No region in the Nigeria is in such dire straits as compared to the North. Too many hungry mouths up there who can turn on their leadership. |
Sun of god:Well even Ojukwu would know his limits. As he mentioned before, it is hard to control the Igbo, because we are used to having no king. Everyone in Igboland wants to be the leader. Even if he wanted this power, there would have been checks on him. Either way, the pot would be larger for a much smaller crowd. |
Beaf:That is true, but currently, the Imams are aligned with the political leadership and the emirs. A pious Imam could lead a revolution in that region, just like Uthman dan Fodio did over 200 years ago. |
Mehn if Biafra had succeeded, we would be compared to Western and Asian nations instead of fellow African nations. And it would be a much smaller crowd to spread the money around. Parasitic Nigeria. . . |
Beaf:Well their Imams are not illiterate though. They are actually quite educated, and they know how to control their people. The Emirs and the politicians know it is the Imams who hold the real power in the North. That is why they try to keep their support. |
Chyz*:You see how foolish posters, like to insert their people in every discussion. The article has nothing to do with Yoruba or the South-West, but they still want to insert themselves. |
Wadeoye:I wont lie, Igbos are way too individualistic for my liking. But it has been ingrained in our culture to strive for PERSONAL success. So its a blessing and a curse. However, our population has been under-counted. |
Whenever I hear someone bash local industries, it makes me sick. We need to protect our own. That is why Aba is not being used to its full potential. |
Kobojunkie:Quality, quality, quality. We are arguing about Chinese buses, in which I am more inclined to believe that Chinese products are inferior, because most of their products break down easily. Go to Wal-Mart and buy an iron and see how long it will last you. |
Ileke-IdI:All I have encountered are big bosoms. I am tired of these bosoms. Most women with big bosoms lack the large posterior that I have yet to taste. That sweet, sweet nectar of the big ikebe. You provide me with a Yoruba woman who posses those characteristics, there will be peace on Nairaland amongst the Igbo and Yoruba. You can offer yourself as well, there will be no complaints. ![]() |
Ileke-IdI:I am in search of the elusive bootius maximus. I hear they are a common sign in the fable land of Odua. I have looked far and wide, but I haven't found that perfect booty. ![]() |
Yoruba men and their lust for MANY women. Isn't one woman enough? ![]() |

eku_bear:My laptop wasn't cheap, since I am a "gamer." I like Japanese products, because of "quality." I buy things for quality, not on how cheap it is. Chinese goods are CRAP. |
Ileke-IdI:God has nothing to do with this business. This is between Ado Ekiti and Arochukwu. ![]() |
eku_bear:If I could get a laptop made in Nigeria, maybe I would be more inclined to. But that is a red herring and you know it. I am a protectionist. It is time to protect our industries from the Chinese menace. We are not the only ones discussing this. People and the West are also pushing for more protectionist policies. |
^^^ I thought we were going to make an Aro-Ekiti hybrid? My people believe in mixing with others. It is actually encouraged. I am tired of these Eastern groups, so having an Aro-Ekiti would bring me praise. ![]() |
^^^ Muki my dear, please do not listen to the guy above. You were not here when there was a wave of attacks against the Ndigbo. I had to defend my people. |
Kobojunkie:No, I would prefer we bought the buses from a Nigerian company. It is time to protect/support our local industries. |
eku_bear: Kobojunkie:I prefer made in Japan. It is better quality I must say. ![]() |
The Onicha Igbos is probably the sweetest Igbo to have ever graced my ear. Even my own Aro Igbo dialect is very rustic to the smooth Igbo spoken by the Onicha Igbo. If there is one dialect, that I wish I had, it would be the Onicha dialect. I would gladly give up this "Rivers" dialect that I speak for the Onicha Igbo. |
Ileke-IdI:Come to the SE and find out. Plenty of your brothers in Onitsha and Aba. |
Chinese goods are crap. Africa is just a dumping ground for defective Chinese products that cannot be shipped to the U.S. I rather have an African made product, than a Chinese made product. |
Let me go to Rwanda though, since I speak French fluently. It is good being a French speaker. I wonder if they are Hutu or Tutsi. I hear Tutsis are hotter than Hutu. ![]() |
Ileke-IdI:Oh shut up women. I have come across many Nigerian women who are UGLY. Especially when I go to Lagos. |
Seems like he is just having fun. Is that so bad? This is not as bad as the Liberian minister who had a video with two hookers. |
We need to support our local industries. Bad move I must say. Instead, we should be focusing protecting our industries of allowing of all people, the Chinese to sell their crappy products to us. |
This is no threat to Israel so why the alarm. I think they are just trying to get the U.S onto their side, because they have a strained relationship with the U.S. now. And now they are increasingly, being surrounded by unfriendly regimes. |
jumobi1:Actually many people from the Horn of Africa consider themselves African. Ethiopians and Somalis do not consider themselves Arabs. They consider themselves Africans or the "original man" as Ethiopians like to call themselves. |
