MandingoII:The Arab slave trade was just as bad as the European slave trade. One of the first African slave revolt happened in Iraq. People should read about the Zanj revolt that occurred near Basra. It took many years to finally subjugate these Africans. And it was quite brutal. |
ShangoThor:A very effective way indeed. They know the Politics section gets the most traffic, while this section does not get the large amount of traffic. |
Well they did show images of a man who was captured with a Nigerian passport. They are most likely from the North, because Southern Nigerians do not go to the "Arab" North. They would rather go to the West or even Asia. |
This disgusting to say the least. These Berbers who consider themselves Arab shows the self-hate they have for Africa. |
seanet02:I hope you people do know that there is a shortage in doctors in Nigeria. We do not have enough doctors in Nigeria, so it would not be wise to sack them, because of the small amounts of Nigeria. And where is the tribalism? Simply said he was driving cabs in Chicago, which is the truth. Now he #1 thief in Lagos. Am I lying? |
Eko Ile:A man is not a man if he cannot keep his word. That is what we Igbos believe in. You fooled us once, but never again. That is why there will always be mistrust between our two groups from now to all eternity. You people have no shame? Your word is not your bond? Shows that you all are not REAL MEN. Just waiting in the rear to get the spoils of your most hated rivals. Because remember who was on top. |
This Tinubu came a long way. My Yoruba professor was joking how this man was barely surviving in the U.S. driving cabs in Chicago and now look at him now! Looting public funds. It must be nice for him. ![]() |
All the regions benefit from this. Even the East. Well I cannot wait. |
Everyone knows Awolowo made that INFAMOUS address. It is well documented. If the East secede, the West would do the same. Shows how opportunistic he and SOME of his people really are. Their word is not their bond. This should show Igbos never trust the word of many Yoruba. They need more Wole Soyinkas and Fela Kutis. Two men who are worthy of respect. |
Instead of kissing the North's arse, GEJ should be kissing the Yoruba and Igbo's arse. |
He was definitely right about Ikot Ekpene. That is my mother's hometown and it was gateway to Igboland. It should have been defended. After the fall of Ikot Ekpene, the Igbo heartland was vulnerable. Attacks on Umuahia and Aba meant the end of Biafra. Effiong is a person hero of mine. He always spoke the truth. God bless his soul. |
I love Port Harcourt. The city is where I was raised. Very hospitable people. Plenty of Yorubas, Hausa, Ijaw, Igbo, Ibibio, expatriates. Everyone lives in that city. And it is getting better. Every time I visit home, I do not want to leave the city. People should go to Enugu as well. Such a picturesque town. |
Felibaby:You must be smoking some strong Igbo. ![]() Because I said Igbos are loved in Ghana, you get upset? Well it is the truth. Flavour and Duncan Mighty get plenty of love. I am not saying that other Nigerians do not get love in that country, because D'banj was showered with love as well. But to hear people around the continent singing Igwe and saying Chineke me, makes my heart soar. I can thank a non-Igbo, Timaya, for also helping to spread Igbo phrases. Either way, tell your brothers and sisters to stop bothering the Igbos. Most of us fight fire with fire. The person you are talking to, fstranger is not redeemable. And you can't consider someone tribalist, if they are mixed with various groups. I am not even full Igbo. |
These people think they have reach in the East. ![]() Yorubas are in fairly good number in Port Harcourt though. They could easily be used as a scapegoat and allow the Ijaws to battle them once more. While we Igbos just laugh. And indeed, anything is possible in Nigeria. |
But infact ppl are saying "o se" all around. Was watching a Congo music video that had Yoruba in it, Ghanaian video that had Yoruba in it and multiple more of that. Now why is that?
Wrong. People singing Igwe or Chineke me from Senegal all the way down to Namibia. And let us not discuss Ghanaian music, because they loves Igbo. Look at the song with Flavour and V.I.P. And Duncan Mighty spent a lot of time in Ghana. They love the Igbo boys and we love them too. |
^^^ That will never happen. People will still be saying Igwe all around the world. |
jason123:Can you please shut up. We have seen clear evidence of Ijaws fighting Ilaje. Are they not Yoruba? |
ThiefOfHearts:And who are you? You must be one of those tribalist from the other sections I hear about. |
I like this rhetoric! I join the chorus and say the North should sit down. They do not have a monopoly on violence. Do they want a repeat of Kano when Igbos were beating them in their own turf? We should send our former Bakassi boys to give them a lesson! https://www.stephanfaris.com/Nigeria/graphics/Bakassi_Boy.JPG |
Beaf, you better subtract the Igbos from this nonsense. Our numbers, like many in the East have not been inflated. No one knows the true population numbers of the East. The only group that seems to inflate their numbers in my region are the Ijaws. The Ibibios, Igbos and I feel the Idoma do not have an accurate count. |
All I know that the Ibibio need to get their act together. If people think the Igbo are divided, they have not encountered the people from Ibibioland. There is no reason why the Ijaws should be claiming that they are the fifth largest group, when you have Ibibio/Annang/Efik/Oron/Enyong/Eket etc who all speak the same DAMN language, but cannot agree. |
Nsibidi was used widely amongst my Aro people. The elders of my village still understand it. I wonder if someone will teach me one day how to read the script. |
Why are Yorubas trying to make Egun culture go extinct? They can't even use their Egun names or speak their language. Shame on you all! ![]() |
TewMuch:An Ewe or a Ga would slap you for your assertion. Ga is no way related to Ewe. Now the Ewe say they are originally from Ile-Ife, but their language is not even Yoruba. Yorubas are not in Ghana, so stop with that assertion. And for the Ga, they are a language isolate like the Ijaws. Their language has no similarity with any of our languages. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Igbos are claiming only the Ukwuani, Ika and Anioma, because they all speak Igbo dialects. I have no problem understanding someone who speaks the Anioma dialect. |
I support the Egun people and their question to preserve their culture and language from Yoruba hegemony. ![]() |
Nzeogwu is a name I have always respected. I wish he had succeeded. . . Well he did but the fools down South did not complete their task. |
As Ndi Igbo officially become politically irrelevant BLOG | FEBRUARY 23, 2011 - 4:51PM | BY OSITA NWOYE There is a saying of my people Ndi Igbo enwe eze; which means, The Igbo people do not have a king. It is a statement that best described our traditional parliamentary system of government before the British destroyed it all with our help (another story). But now, the proverb should be reconstructed to state The Igbo people of Nigeria have absolutely no direction. Looking at the electoral register, the south east is the 6th /last political zone in order of number of voters registered. It is no surprise then that ACN quickly rezoned the vice presidency to the South West. But my greatest amazement was that the supposedly Igbo party (APGA) endorsed PDP which has ensured that no position of authority in their government has been zoned to the south east. Talk about political sense. The Igbos used to have the Senate presidency, before fellow Igbos made sure the Igbos there did not succeed; same with the PDP chairmanship. It is shame that the political Igbos have gone this way politically. This has been caused by the absence of credible leadership. Igbo politicians will sell themselves for what I do not know. Pathetic! Who should be blamed? Ekwueme? Ojukwu? The Igbo political leaders? The clowns of Ohaneze? Rubbish! I am no tribalist; in fact far from it. I describe myself as a Benin boy from Anambra State. If allowed, I would prefer to be governor of Edo state 10times before Anambra state. I have not been ‘home’ in ages too. But you see, I just have this affection for ‘my people’ and it is painful to watch us self destruct. Especially when hope is nowhere in sight. |
It is as plain as day. While some of my fellow Igbos say everything is alright. |
You posters are going crazy. Just remember who owns Nollywood. |
The TRIBALIST are coming out in force today. |
