Kaycee18: Good morning everyone. I need advice on this issue that has been bothering me so much. I graduated last year and I studied a course that I hated, thanks to my father. I didn't do as well as I could have because I had no interest in it, I just wanted to graduate and get out of there. Now I'm done and I'm contemplating going back to school after youth service this year. I was always interested in academics. The issue is that I don't know how I will be able to cope financially because I know I have to do it on my own, I don't want anything from him so I'll have to work. How will I juggle working and going to school? I don't just want to go to school for the sake of it. I want to go into it and do my very best. Please can anyone who has been in a similar situation advise me on what to do? Thank you. First, you would have at least done well in the former course cuz naturally Abuja b dis. But no times for blames. Getting in for another coarse and working is possible |

DarkPheonix: hello bosses in the house. I'm a medical aspirant, dentistry to be precise as we all know 2020 jamb is almost out but I have major problem which is I don't know which University I am going to choose yet. I am from osun state I put in unilag during the last jamb but my olevel is kinda of weak, 3b3, 1c4, and 1c5 also I flopped in the postume maths is not my thing so I end up scoring 12 in the postutme and also I had 257 in jamb, in short it all end in tears. I have gotten the necessary textbooks for the jamb and I am positive I am going to do better than before I am actually aiming for 320 now. I need suggestions on the best institution to put considering my state of origin, olevel result and my deficiency in maths. please I need urgent reply. ShahRukhKhan horpeyemmi66 Brukx Brukx DrImmaculate lagusta DrAuthentic Cardiojosh Commmy Alexaonfleek Froshchuksswart David2O ezimo777 sorry for the late response sir. I like the fact that you know your weak points and you've identified and acknowledged it, hence, the willingness to improve abides. Sincerely speaking, my SSCE is worse than yours ( all C) and I'm in 400L now Unijos. 1. Catchment areas as regards admission into Nigerian universities has been abolished but implementation may be an issue. 2. Your determination to succeed at the forth coming UTME is achievable and I would advise you make I so. 3. I've always advised people come to the North for medical school and my reasons are a. Less competition form the western and Eastern states (I'm from the SE) b. Cost of living is cheap (arguable) c. No unnecessary demands from lecturer to buy any stuff eg books and so on. d. Fees are considerably cheap too. e. Admission process is quite transparent ( can't speak of BUK and ABU, both schools are good but in terms of admission, I can't say) f. Meeting with great minds form all over Nigeria. 4. Also look out for other schools with less competition with regards to people from your state.. 5. If u know people, use your contacts ooo, cuz it's important now. best bro |

mozkidayo: Thanks sir..I think I’ll just pick Unijos..I have strong connection there buh my parent are just scared cause of boko haram lol...please will DE students write post utme??..and I’m still in my final year,I’ll start my 400level first semester exam next week..pls is it reasonable for me to apply for the nxt DE or I should wait till after graduation.. UNIJOS Don't have Boko Haram issues now bro lol. The last time was the last and that's about 8years or more ago. 2. Unijos don't need NYSC discharge for DE just your testimonial. 3. No transcripts required.. 4. If you are sure of finishing your academic work and presenting your testimonial to the panel during the screening process before the next 8/10 months, then u can apply for the DE now.. |

SESARS: pls who has answers to the following questions; 1. Is there any federal uni that admits MBBS DE without nysc certificate? 2. What is the subject combo for unn DE exam(mbbs)? 3. Is there any federal uni that does not write post DE exams for mbbs? 4. And finally, which federal school is relatively the easiest for DE?
Pls i need answers to these. 1. To a great extent, most universities don't need your NYSC cert for DE, including Unijos, BUK, I guess UNN is same 2. IJMB (Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English I suppose) , A good degree of; I. Basic Medical sciences ii. Biological sciences III. Related courses microbiology etc IV. Health science courses like MLS, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Optometry, and dental technology (for BDS) etc 3. Yes. Quite sure of Unijos 4. I really don't know |

BarristerAlarig: I was tempted to just view without commenting.
As an adult, you still think like a child!
Do you know what studying Medicine in the US entails? Do you know what MD or DO awarding schools are?? US schools do not award MBBS!
Do you know the prerequisites you'd have to complete?? Which one is biology?? Oga, you need to take Classes in Anatomy, biochemistry, Organic chemistry etc
How easy do you think getting into medical school is?? And as a foreigner??
How "cheap" do you think US medical schools are?? Attending a medical program in the US cost at lest $400,000!!! Do you have that money??
And night classes in the US for medicine Are you for real??
To think you didn't carry out any research but choose to run to nairaland says alot about you.
You are not intelligent at all. You may be speaking the truth but your last statement is derogatory and just too direct.... I'll advice OP that there's absolutely nothing in reality existing as impossible.... OP, I really don't know much about MBBS in the US but here in Nigeria, you can achieve the degree including the predegree studies to bring you to terms with science related subjects (chemistry, biology and physics) all in 9years without strikes and if you can get the admission once you're done with the predegree classes... If u can also afford private university in Nigeria and be diligent to studies, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE... Personal view pls... A medical student at the University of Jos, Nigeria... |
