Missy89: not as much as some people would like. Gay laws, Nigeria's refusal(and pressuring other countries in the region) to sign the EPAs with the EU among others. Nigeria is actually not as pro West as most people think. But we are pro-west in the key areas of our national life. The reason why we are now looking for weapons is because our leaders were foolish enough to allow the west lull them into sleep in the guise of "too much weapons is not good for you". If we were truly pro-east like algeria,we would be the greatest military force on the continent. |
julybaba: Nobody is fooling anybody, they need weapons to fight BH and US is frustrating the legal acquisition of it, because of human right abuse. Is US innocent of human right abuse in war-torn countries like Libya, Afganistan e.tc.? He that come to equity, must come with clean hands. US is not the standard of the world, and she must stop terrorizing the world. The human right story is a bloody lie. Compared to Egypt and saudiarabia Nigeria is a lamb. The US also frustrated yaraduas effort to get lethal vessels during the niger delta fiasco. |
egift: Corruption is already enough to send Jonathan to jail. He should not add illegal arms deals. You are a moronnic bastardd who can't see beyond APC. Let me see how buhari will get american weapons if he gets to asorock. |
alqaeda: USA, nigerias best friend. Enjoy the warm friendship.Pretty stupidd isn't it? Whenever i see Nigeria voting against russian interests at the UN,i get very mad. Anyway, better late than never. Nigeria is about to shift allegiance. |
I wish i was president. We dont need western weapons;for fucck sakes. It will end up useless due to sanctions just like in the 80s. Begin a radical permanent shift to the east now. |
tola9ja: Frank Lampard: "I had 13 amazing years with Chelsea - I'm a bit lost for words... I didn't expect to score & for the Chelsea fans to singUnlike arsenal fans that hate all their exes, chelsea does not. Shows which fans have more class. |
Cech should return to the stake Courtouis should learn from him abeg. Fair play to lamps. When he came in,i knew it was over. He is more lethal than anything city has got. He is the only player there crafty enough to score against chelsea. Aguero is still a learner. |
darkroses: Nigeria does not have d moral right to ask usa to leave it's shore because we may still need dere help in one way or the other.....Nigeria does not have the "moral right" to send the US out of her own country? You have sawdust for brains. |
Get the fucck out of our country. Bloody yanks. |
Kai. See russia. And this is one country Nigeria can realistically aspire to emulate. Their devotion to highly advanced science is unrivaled . Advance or die-that's the russian moto. God bless them. |
soulglo: Good. You're still talking about proper health care. Ivory Coast is being proactive. They have been even before Sawyer ever came to Nigeria. Nigeria was not. Also you say the successful management of Ebola is the same all over the world but our survivors did not use Zmapp. All they had seemed to be some sort of ORT to replenish the fluids they were losing from constant vomiting and diarrhea.I think you are being too harsh on the govt. The only case we had came in through a foreign diplomat who should know better. It was more or less a betrayal of trust. Ebola did not come through unmanned borders. BTW ;Zmapp has not been endorsed by the WHO and is invalid as far as i am concerned. The known treatment of ebola anywhere in the world is the management of symptoms and boosting the body immunity through ORT and other common supplements, which is what Nigeria has done. And if you think the entire process was that easy, then why is sierraleone, liberia & guinea sinking under the weight of ebola with no possible end in sight? |
Anybody with a brain knows the election was rigged. Even before the election proper, there was an unprecedented level of psychological warfare and cheap blackmail. So much for being advanced democracies. Tell that to the birds,or better still the hordes of white worshipping Nigerians. |
Nuclear energy is the fastest and the "easiest" way to generates multiple Gigawatts of electricity, and all the electricity -sufficient countries are already using it as major energy sources. And Nigeria has all the uranium deposits it will ever need. Unfortunately,i dont trust the Nigerian govt with this kind of project. Atleast, not yet. |
Creating the next generation of african western puppets. Sorry,Nigerians are not interested. |
Aigbofa: None of these countries have shown the level of depravity of the Nigerian army. The U.S does not support ISIS, find another other lie to tell. Iwonbaopolo.Calling you a pseudo-intellectual is paying you an unmerited complement. You are dishonest. Maybe you think the US will sell weapons to Nigeria with buhari as president. |
cocoduck: Why should Nigeria complain about the west not wanting to sell arms to her? While we would have developed home grown weapons that are better suited to our environment. If not for Those a55 holes who say they won the British Biafran war. Now it is clean and clear to all Nigerians that both Nigeria and Biafra were the losers of the civil war and the west were the victors, because they went straight for the Biafran scientists who invented those weapons even under a very harsh situation. Now a whole Nigeria is begging them to sell small arms to us, thunder go strike gowon were ever Im dey. Can you imagine the insult?I read somewhere that the chief biafran engineers were snapped up by the US and germany. I felt like crying. |
ARES: Sell to Nigeria and they will donate it to bokoharam in the name of missing jet.... abeg forget NigeriaOh pls shut up with this nonsense. Most of the weapons belonging to the army in BH hands are APCs, which is actually "understandable" as it's a war scenerio. There are you-tube videos of american APCs and tanks in taliban control. |
davitogreat: while your celebrating america giving us some free run down ship they discarded I prefer the technology transfer the Chinese are giving us. There is a saying that goes it is better to teach a man to fish than to just give him fish.Dont mind that fool. Infact every true Nigerian should start worshipping china. They deserve it far more than those arrogant yanks. |
arresa: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/36/USCGC_Hamilton_%28WHEC-715%29.jpgAre you kidding me? Go to beageagle and educate yourself. Those vessels have been completely stripped down anyway. China is bulding for Nigeria one of its latest stealth warship. The first one has been built in china, while the second one will be 70% built in lagos by virtue of tech transfer. China is transferring ship building technology to our navy. |
milehigh06: what makes you think that the nation was stable?is that because of the snippet of news which the govt only allows you to hear??just like North Korea is "Stable" due to the limitations in that country but speak to an average Korean and you will realise that what you see is not what is on round...do you remember when North Korea was at the world cup in south korea and they lost 7-0 to portugal??do you know what the govt told their citizensAnother simplistic view. Infact let me draw an inference; Without some form of press control,Nigeria will not survive. We are too divided and socially primitive for total press freedom. Maybe in the next 100 years. |
Aigbofa: What makes the US an enemy state? Becasue you think so or because of some specific actions taken against Nigeria by the US?US is not an enemy state, neither are they friends. They dont care if we swim or sink. Calling them friends means we owe them loyalty like the puppet UK. Infact, china surprisingly have proven to be more of a friend in these trying times. |
Aigbofa: Press freedom have nothing to do with instability. Our instability stems from mind boggling corruption and lack of foresight by the so called leaders. That is a very simplistic view and you know it. Ghadaffi was corrupt ,yet the country was stable for decades because he controlled the press. The chinese communist govt is actually very corrupt as the majority of poor chinese would tell, yet china is still stable because of effective press control. Nigeria was very stable during the era of corrupt abacha. Corruption is bad and should be snuffed out though. |
Btw, Nigeria's instability is linked to too much press freedom. Imagine, china with sahara reporters, absolute chaos is the end result. And that is why i want a buhari presidency. GEJ is too naive for the realities of today. |
The US is a friendly nation to Nigeria? Smh. When i thought i've heard it all, someone, somewhere ,releases a bombshell. |
davitogreat: It has nothing to do with human rights. You are just wasting your time. Most of these guys are blinded by opposition-induced hatred which is actually justifiable. Unfortunately;they dont know where to draw the line. |
ISpiksDaTroof: They didn't goof, it's called TRANSPARENCY; something ure obviously not used to. South Africa has jurisdiction, not Nigeria. There will be no "brotherly nation" pallying going on here. Let the law take its course.Wrong. You would be surprised to find out that some govt officials are trying to settle old scores given the many Nigeria-SA spat. Jurisdiction indeed. |
EroZA: Thanx for avoiding strong language, let me also come down to that level....Actually SA goofed by making the issue public and trying to humiliate the Nigerian govt. I expected zuma to call GEJ and settle it amicably without all these public display. Nigeria is currently waging a war and weapons are being bought from everywhere. I expect an african "brotherly nation" to understand. |
EroZA: Bare footed poor Nigerian singing a wild song as usual,MTN can be making more money in Nigeria than in SA definitely not in the continent,so is multichoice...you are as dumb as yourself...whatever those companies are telling you people there, its just a business language to make you comfortable with their exploitation, your leaders always come down south to ask for assistance in almost everything, just like the money laundering saga...they do it in hiding as they are ashamed of themselves....whether a fool like you admit it or not SA companies are shaping your economy...FactYou are very daftt. MTN recently released their business financial statements for the year showing Nigeria as its best market by far as it earned $2billion after tax last year in Nigeria. Your best companies are falling all over themselves to get a hold in the Nigerian market. And here is the best part, they can be replaced by their Nigerian competitors in the blink of an eye. |
EroZA: South Africa is trying to do this and that,so in other words it is SA fault that Nigeria wanted to buy arms illegally...?according to Nigerian authorities the president of SA was supposed to lie to south africans by downplaying the number of casualties ? The content of this post shows that Nigeria is not a good friend of SA ,the only thing that Nigerians want from SA is to exploit her human resources in all aspect for the development of their country....when it comes to money laundering I wish SA can just press hard so that we can witness the retaliation Nigerians are talking about...It is now time for SA to compromise her friendly policies, chasing SA companies from Nigeria will not have any serious impact on SA because most of those companies are scattered all over the continent...You are a complete moronn. MTN for example makes far more money in Nigeria, than in the rest of africa including SA. SA on the other hand contributes next to nothing to the Nigerian economy. If an economy war breaks out,Nigeria will not be that fazed. I am sure MTN and multichoice would probably assassinate Zuma themselves for ruining their business. |
swezenberg: Now I see you know nothing about US. Newyork is becoming old fashion. There are states that have overtaken Newyork long ago. California has the largest number of billonaires. Texas is very rich as a state. Do you think development is limited to one or 2 states in the US as it is in Nigeria. Travel by plane in the night to the different states and tell me what you see on ground.okay maybe the US is an exception, thanks to the petrodollar. |
Who cares? They can huff and puff all they want. That is all they can do. This is not the SADC. |
donroxy: The issues involved in the situation of US not granting sophisticated help to Nigerians IMHO may include :I dont think it is because of GEJ. Even under OBJ we hardly bought any sophisticated weapon from the west. Nigeria is facing a dangerous insurgency and the west keep letting their bullshit get in the way. It shows how much they value us. The middle-eastern countries like the UAE and saudi arabia are notorious for human right abuse, yet they get any western hardware they want. |

?they were told that they beat portugal 2-1 and that is the kind of system Nigerians applaud...
