That's where we get it wrong as Nigerians, we give too much excuses, does bad roads and poor electric supply stop DANGOTE to build his refinery?does all the challenges in the country stop him to continue to grow all his businesses? Please go and read the history of China and India as I emphasize again?foreigners will come and invest in our country while Nigerians will steal and loot and take our common wealth go invest abroad rather than grow local production, how do u fix and improve on the fundamentals issues if u don't shot your doors to importation to grow local production This is where I believe many Nigerians get it wrong. The problem facing local farmers in Nigeria is NOT importation. There are key indices constantly against farmers. Even if you ban importation , local farming will not improve until you fix the fundamental issues. We will never be self sufficient, instead we will just have food scarcity and soaring prices as we have now. The solution is to fix the fundamental issues. I tell u Nigeria and Nigerians can never and ever see any meaningful progress when we justify criminal act in which ever form,the law says ban on importation of rice,and some people still justify smuggling because of high price of local rice, how will u encourage local production if u don't ban importation.any country that want development will have to shut it's doors to importation and grow local productions, the world is celebrating CHINA and INDIA today forgotten that both countries shot it's doors to importation for over 20yrs,to develop technologically, today they are better for it 179 Likes 13 Shares |
