Health / 5 Lies About Water by faaiz4ever(m): 6:41am On May 18, 2017
Hehehehe…you won’t believe these lies about water! Are you among those that are deceived?

Lie #1: You must drink 8 glasses of water every day.
No! You mustn’t! Your body might require more or less depending on the amount of water in the foods and fruits you eat. The body’s need for water depends on several factors including the type and amount of activities you do, the weather condition, your heath, etc. The key is: let thirst guide you. Obey your thirst. If you are thirsty, then your body needs water — go and drink WATER! Another guide–a rough guide–is to observe you urine! If it’s as dark as (or darker than) “La casera” apple juice drink, and if it’s smelly, you need water — go drink some water!

Lie #2: You can never drink too much water!
Of course, you can! It is called water intoxication! Bad news is, it is deadly! It is over-hydration — too much water — over-diluting the “salts” or electrolytes, especially sodium, in the body. It is seen in water drinking competitions; or drinking too much water (and too quickly) after strenuous activity or exercise. The person collapses (and might die), and people would be saying the water was poisoned!

Lie #3: Drinking cold water after meals causes cancer!
No, it doesn’t! You see this big lie all over the internet, written in convincing scientific tone and terms. Cold or warm water, it doesn’t matter when you drink during you meal: you can drink before the meal (which is good for people trying to lose some weight), during the meal, or after the meal. Be careful, people love using the word “cancer” to scare people and sell their products. Be skeptical.

Lie #4: Drinking water would help flush out toxins and poisonous substances!
Not really! That is not how the body works. It is not a straight tube or water cistern toilet; it’s far more complex. Ironically, drinking too much water might even reduce the kidney’s ability to remove toxins. We only advise copious water for few patients, like those with kidney stones. Still, let thirst guide you. And all those so called “natural products” or supplements that use the word “detoxification” are based on false scientific words and theories. Forget them; save your money.

Lie #5: Only colorless, odorless, and tasteless water is fit for drinking!
No! Water doesn’t have to be colorless and tasteless to be fit and healthy for drinking. Provided it is not polluted by dangerous and harmful substances, and not contaminated with microorganisms that can cause disease or affect health. Some spring water and bottled water have minerals and substances dissolved in them that add an appealing color and a pleasant taste to the water; and they are fit for drinking. Being colorless, odorless, and tasteless is a good sign, but not a compulsory one, especially for treated water.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Got The Police Job, Now I'm More Confused by faaiz4ever(m): 5:46am On Dec 08, 2016
lumydee44:
I think the NPF made a mistake selecting you. Your motive to join the force is money. If you eventually join, you'll be one of them that can't lay down their life to save a little girl. We need people that really want to serve in the force. I pray they don't pick you eventually when you get to the final phase. Nigerians being a police is more than the salary. Most do it to make a difference.

I don't know what to say to you seriously, you need people that wants to serve, why you no join to serve others? why did you go to school? Why are you working where you are working now? Is it not to make money, or are you going to be feeding him? You can condemn the passion but the motive for everyone is to make money. Instead of you to condemn the system and the govt thats not paying them well, seriously I still imagine why anyone would want to join the police sef, salary no good, u fit die anytime. Dont be selfish in ur thinking.

[s]Ok. Let's just assume you are right that this initiative requires planning. The way you people are going about the planning, is that how to plan for something of this nature? Imagine the guy who opened the thread calling an issue related to IPOB a petty one. And during the debate on this issue, your own attitude, faaiz, showed you only cared about monetary contributions for the project, when you asked carelessly that how much have I contributed to this cause. Is this all about money?

You people think once someone raises any issue concerning the person of pacino, the individual must be interested in challenging his leadership. You think everyone is interested in petty power tussle. You don't care whether the criticism made is a constructive and genuine one, since the person who raised the issue has not made any contributions anyway, so he's no right to air his opinion.

I lost interest in the cause because of such attitude. During my brief interactions with you and other members, all I could see about this cause was that it lacks sincerity of purpose.[/s]
Thank you bro, we have different understanding of contributions.

You are right. Events like revolution, public protest are not planned in this manner. They occur almost spontaneously. I don't see this movement achieving anything tangible.

Protests are not planned Wow am so amazed. So how do they get to print placards and banners. And how will you get just 10,000 youths on the street if you don't plan and they don't share your beliefs. Bros wake up this is not fuel price increment protest. I can agree things are slow now cos we are facing some challenges but I can assure you we are on the right track. Thanks

I really do not know the problem MORNDEW has with the kind of admin system we were running, Pasino was elected to lead by the majority, he was given powers to assign tasks, analyze feedback and make progressive decisions, however we all agreed that whenever Pasino's decisions raised argument or has oppositions, we will all go to the voting system and make collective decisions. No one will make unilateral decisions that affects all, so what is the problem here?. Pasino has done nothing wrong, we cannot crucify people based on their tribal, political and religious affiliations. He talked about being banned. MORNDEW was part of the team that created the rule and we all agreed. I objected that none of us has any right to remove a member since we are all Nigerian youths but they said a temporary ban and I was cool with it. This is a group thing you can't have your ways all the time, the truth is MORNDEW was pained cos the guy he voted did not win, that's what the hatred was all about. We appealed to him, some of us placed personal calls to him, as a matter of fact he held us to ransom because we could not progress for days, when I called him he said he would be a lonely voice because Pasino already has many supporters. I was so pissed, what kind of childish comment is this are you saying because Pasino has more votes during TeamLeader election automatically means all the people that voted for him will always support his ideas forever? Is this about you or the whole Nigerian youths? Please let us all judge this kind of mindset, should we now cancel the whole effort because of one single guy? Because he feels lonely in the group. For those saying this has already been hijacked, ask yourself what possible progress could we have made in just 2 weeks to be hijacked? We all need re-orientation in this country. Thanks

I believe it won't come to that, they must have learnt one or two things from the NDA not to allow forceful agitation, if we have the numbers they will negotiate well. But if it comes to it, we will deal with it intelligently. We don't need to kill before we use force, that's why I said we need to be smarter than these leaders.

Pushas:
I appreciate and applaud all those who have contributed to this thread. In as much as we are taking some steps, I want ask what the modus operandi of this revolution will be but I can see its gonna be only an ideological revolution.
I might be wrong but I have reasons to believe that a Violent revolution is the most effective way to save Nigeria. This might be extreme and quite radical but I think there has to be bloodshed. Some of these politicians and elites need to be eliminated or exiled which will set an example for the others to follow and learn that Nigerians should not be taken for granted and thus whatever we request for will be granted very fast. I commend everyone here for their input.
Once again I might be wrong. We Will Get There.
