Hello everyone, I downloaded the latest firmware (T6147) version.

I tried to flash the phone but I encounter problem when the flashing stopped at 83% displaying "error debug" or something. I started it over again, but it couldn't detect my phone.

As at the time am typing this, my phone is stucked at "Gionee powered by Android".

Gurus in the house, please help me out.

Is there any need to use the SN Write tool to fix the IMEI afterwards?

And do I need to root it again?

I haven't seen any msg being sent without my consent since downloading 360. I'm still observing. I think it's cuz I don't have airtime

I had similar issue on my phone only to later realize the message was being sent remotely by an app on my phone. typically, apps programmed to report or lately stolen phone send such messages. in my own case, it was my Avast anti-theft app. in other instances such programmes are preinstalled in the phone user interface. it's left for you to identify the app, disable, force stop or uninstall it depending on the situation.

Yes. With both options, you will be able to receive SMS but the second option won't let you send out messages.

Wait o, my own version is 5338, I'm rooted, a heavy user and I dont really have any complaint. No device can be 100% perfect of course, the only issue I have is moving of apps to SD card and accessing obb game files from SD card, can d firmwares you people are downloading do it?

You have 2 options to put an end to this malfunction:

1. Flash Custom ROM on the phone.
2. Change your SMS Centre number to a wrong one. However, in that case, both intended (original message) by you and the automated message will seize to go.

I supposed you know how to do that.

All this talk of tweak this tweak that, flash this firmware or that buildprop. So does it mean that if i just buy this phone i cant enjoy it just like that? Becos not all of us are technicians and i cant risk bricking the phone because this money is hard earned. You pple should just be honest before i buy it on monday, or if there is any one in abuja that can assist me in all these flashing stuff.

I will have to say;
I've been using my phone for 2hrs+ now with screen sleep time on" unlimited", Blasted Modern Combat 5 on 3G, played 2048, and currently downloading Real Racing 3(1.7GB+) and my phone is JUST warm.

I also have to say, do yourself a favor and flash in the latest firmware.

Modified:....and 9mins later, 1% dropped!! Awesome device!!

Yeah I noticed it yesterday. #15 went out cuz of a msg I know nothing about.

Lemme check the messaging script in this firmware..I never observed such on the follow come rom

He's not the only one complaining about heating....mine gets hot too when in use. It also hangs!lags once a while!
A lot of complaints on this phone....u guys just over-hyping

Eeyah sorry. Now I have one question, does it ever work when you're not connected to the internet? If not maybe you can install an internet firewall app like norootfirewall and use it to enable only certain apps from connecting to the internet
