S + is dope too. I've handled both phones. The only difference is M5 has more weight than S+ and M5 battery last longer than S plus.

How do you install TWRP with root?

You don't need to root to install twrp. You just need to learn how to use SP flash tool and for SP flash tool to detect your device, you'll have to instal VCOM USB drive for MEDIATEK Phones. I posted a site that listef all the procedures step by step. I've even removed my root access cos I don't think I need it for now. I can do almost everything I need without rooting.

Rooting and creating Backup for GIONEE M5 is ABC once you have TWRP. All you have to do is boot into Recovery by holding Volume up and the Power button then flash wiyh Super SU but you have to install TWRP first which makes the job a bit difficult.

That message stuff has been fixed. I was able to locate the source and it was because my sim 2 which was GLO network does not have the SMS service centre number so I just googled it and added it. Problem solved. The Idian ROM is better but the only 3G option that's not available is just the problem but you can force it to 3G only mode by dialing *#*#4636#*#* Battery life is same.

cos you're still using Normal mode as your Power management. Put it in None and it will stop closing by it self.

please how did you root yours?

You have to install VCOM drivers to your system first
Then learn how to use SP flash tool
Then get the TWRP for GIONEE M5 and use SP flash tool to flash it into your phone
Then Download Super SU and save it in your phone memory or SD card and boot into recovery by pressing power button + volume up button together and install the super SuperSU From your phone memory or mcard.
I posted a link on the full process a while ago. Just check my previous post and you'll see it.

I tink I will go.4 d s+. My reason being dat it has a gorrila glass3, its super slim & light 4 a fone of 5.5nch. I personally hate screen guards nor protection. I lov my fone screen appearing d way it is. It also has an amoled display same like.d m5. Dnt really giv a Bleep about type c charger. But it wud b fun using face unlock.. lastly. D gionee s+ according 2 gsmarena has a 3gig ram. But d ones in naija has 2gig ram. Dnt kno hw tru dat is by d way. I learnt dat d s+ is superior 2d m5 aesthetically.

Says who? M5 is more superior and more expensive. S+ is new and goes for N39,800 while M5 has been around for over 3 months and its N43,000. M5 also have Gorilla Glass 3. The only advantage S+ have over M5 is light weight and a bit slimmer than M5.

The ROM and RAM really enter my eye shah but too bad it won't be available in Nigeria. M5 MIni is what we'll get here.

Both device are great but I will still choose GIONEE M5 over S Plus. Below is a screen shot of battery after almost 17 hour. The only con is just that its a bit heavy. Apart from that, GIONEE finish work for the phone head. Super Amoled HD screen. Movies /Games so crystal clear.

Same thing happened to me. That's why I'm using UC Browser. The middle option is to upload picture files stored in your phone. Other browsers in my phone can only upload picture from camera. I still don't know why.
