No sir, wall is like ceiling and floor. All have four sides, two of the sides are equal. So area of rectangular shape applies to all of them.(L×B)

For convenience, you could measure your walls one by one and ADD the sizes to get the total for a room.

we are saying same thing the length in your case should be the height of the wall so it can be the sum of L × b of all the walls. Then you can substract openings like windows and and doors from the total

Like i stated earlier they ain't even mate in terms of cost implication as a duplex will cost way higher...

Now let's analyze..

1.) For a bungalow you only need 12mm rods for the wall pillars as it doesn't entails you doing a base

While,

For a duplex you'll need a 16mm rods which cost is almost times two of 12mm rods..

2.) A bungalow doesn't require internal wall pillars as all you'll be needing is just surrounding wall pillars

While

For a duplex you'll have to introduce internal wall pillars which is also done with 16mm

3.) You don't need a foundation base for a bungalow

While

For a duplex you must introduce a foundation base on every pillar points in the building

4.) You don't need to deck a bungalow

While

A duplex requires decking on which amount spent for just decking alone can take up a bungalow building from foundation to roof stage in most cases

5.) While doing lintel for a bungalow, it's not necessary you chain the internal walls

While

For a duplex it's necessary you do chain round beam on both the external and internal walls because of the decking(load coming ontop it)

6.) For a bungalow you're only doing plastering, tiling, screeding, painting etc... on just the ground floor

While

For a duplex you'll have to do plastering, tiling, screeding, painting etc... on both the ground and first floor...

So you can see that the cost implication for a duplex is way higher.. I can even go on and on analyzing...

my brother always consider the total square meter of a building when doing analysis. A 5 bedroom bungalow can cover 250 sq meter or more, there are 3 bedroom duplex for less than half of that in terms of sq feet coverage.
Secondly the person building a bungalow can decide to use original gerald roofing sheet which can cost more than the amount used in decking this same three bedroom duplex.
The person building the same duplex can decide to use a flat roof which is cheaper.my point is I have seen very small duplex, so you can't conclude that all duplexes are more expensive than bungalows. P.s I used internal pillars for my bungalow 17 pillars in total

if 18m will give you this then don't doubt the guy that quoted 28m for his bungalow on page 10 of this thread. Size of his building might be far bigger than this, the bigger the house the more expensive, then quality of finish, you can't put a price on that.

Hello bolu, pls can you explain why the price of 40kg ABS pop cement is higher at 6500 than other brands like sweet home, skygipps etc selling at 5800. Are the other brands made in nigeria, do they crack easily or is just a case of a known brand name.

15-18m for a basic finish, Considering the cost of materials.roofing alone with wood work and longspan will gulp about 1.5m or more. This includes wood, roofing sheet and labour no matter the size of the 4 bedroom. Then estimate number of blocks to be used, cement, iron rods. Then finishing with basic materials. Am just a home owner detailing my experience after supervising my building my self . Am not an architect or engineer

For a 4 bedroom bungalow, you can have a budget of 7 to 12m depending on lots of factors.

For a detailed estimate, you will need an architectural working drawings to achieve that.

considering the fact that you have done POP, I think that will be risky. The carpenters have to be extra careful not to crack it. Also the purlins spacing will have to be adjusted to 14 inches

You have to cover this beautiful door properly from the POP guys. They make a big mess. I don shout tire.
