The Super Eagles need Ighalo. Plain truth. Aside Osi none of our strikers is in Iggy's level as at now!

TheSuperNerd:
Guys should keep an eye out for Sadiq Umar. I understand he doesn't get analysed here well enough except when he scores.

That lad has the highest goals contribution in the entire La Liga Smartbank and he is bound to get even better. I tip him to finish tops in the scoring charts barring any injuries or other form of unavailability. Dude may be playing 2nd tier football but I have no doubt he will do very well in La Liga when the time comes.

Been keeping watch over all these lads like a shepherd keeps watch over a thousand+ sheep and I keep beating myself up for having someone like Rohr at the wheel of our team. Just annoying.

But guess what? Can we win the Afcon with Rohr? Believe me when I say it is possible but it won't be down to Rohr's tactical ingenuity coz he has none. It would be done to making the right selections per game and the quality of the players shining through. It will be like France's WC triumph. Deschamps may have have the WC as coach but a keen analyst knows how tactically deficient he is as well. He is also quite conservative and still haven't gotten the best out of France's new golden generation of mad talents.

What helps him is making the right selection and the players do the rest. Deschamps' tactical deficiencies have been exposed by other opponents, sometimes when it matters. We shall see if same repeats with Rohr.
What makes a coach tactically deficient? How is Rohr tactically deficient? Which coach in Africa is tactically efficient? Which coach in the world is tactically efficient?

Akpoguma had a fantastic game at RWB today! Umar had a fair game! Omeruo didn't play!

It is delusional comparing club football to the National team! The fulcrum of that Barca team played for Spain!
Name any other National team that plays that way?
Or is it only Amuneke that studied coaching in Spain?
He couldn't succeed at the Under-20 level with some of the most talented players at that time.
He was unsuccessful with the Tanzania National team.
But with the SE he will be successful based on what data? Oh! calling Iniesta and Xavi out of retirement to play for him or spending billions of dollars to purchase the best players in the world to play for the Super Eagles!
I don't understand you!
TheGoodJoe:

I am making you understand what the term modern football means. Is Amunike trying to teach the coaches how to park bus or his teaching them the revolutionary approach in coaching the game today.

When we talk of Cruyff being the father and inventor of the modern game, is it park bus being referred to or defending and counter attacking?

People like Pep, Klopp, Tuchel, Erik Ten Hag are pure disciples of the modern football.

Invite Ighalo and others to camp to compete.
Age shouldn't be a factor but competence.
The reason why most people reduce their age is this kind of mentality.

Please tune in to Ac Milan vs Torino to see Aina's class! Aina na baller abeg not one over-hyped player that needed the support of two players to mark ordinary Singo! Imagine what Ejuke/Chuz will use do to him!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 8:55pm On Oct 26, 2021
lol inlaw! Okay, he is the greatest left-back the world has ever seen yet ordinary Singo wan Killam!
ChrisKels:
Yea my brother. That boy is crap, no wonder he is a starter for lowly AC Milan while world class Jamil Collins plays for German giants Paderborn, and Zaidu Porto bench

Aina and Sanusi having a good game! That Senegalese guy playing left-back for AC Milan, lacks pace and cannot tackle, I don't understand the hype around him! Tomori is a monster defender!

Amoo is not a creative midfielder. None of these guys is better than Aribo and Iwobi. He plays on the right side of midfield

I am sure you don't watch Ranger's games. Go watch Aribo in Ranger's color!
Meliforme:
I am talking about being in possession of the skill sets required for the role.
We don't need guys whose main occupation is just to recycle possession (and sometimes lose it).

League quality is never in the fore when a player's skill set is under consideration.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 1:38pm On Oct 24, 2021
Onyeka too can play that role. However, it is disrespectful comparing Aribo/Etebo/Micheal to a guy playing in one obscure league. Aribo is playing right now, you can tune in! Nevertheless, Onyedika, Issaq, Amoo, and Nwakali will be a good addition. The bottom line is we have the players to compete!
Meliforme:
I will rather prefer Raphael Onyedika (a 20yr old defensive midfielder) in central midfield than the trio you listed.
He has more to offer
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 3:06am On Oct 24, 2021
Sanusi was amazing today even though he didn't play the full game. We have the midfield to compete with any African team.
A midfield of Ndidi/Onyeka, Aribo/Etebo/Micheal and Iwobi/Iheanacho can match any team on the continent. Balogun/Awaziem, Ekong/Apokguma/Omeruo, Collins/Bassey/Sanusi, Aina/Ebeuhi. Ejuke/Dennis/Simon, Chuks/Kalu. Oshimen/Onachu/Awoniyi.
Those not invited yet: Sadiq/Desser/Ugbo/Okereke/Simy.
I don't see a better team on the continent, maybe a better coach but definitely not a better team.
Olise plays the same role as Aribo at club level. Aribo is a better player!

Who are the 80% Moroccan players that are starters and below 26 years? Mazraoui and Hakimi play the same position. Munir and En-Nesyri same club and same position. When last did Munir play for Seville? Ziyech is not a starter. So what's special about the Morrocan team?
Senegal, Mali, Guinea, and Ivory Coast have a lot of French-born players so it is quite difficult to know who is who?
ChrisKels:
80 percent of the Moroccan players are starters while others like Taarabt, Idrissi, Labyad and Feddal see good minutes from the bench.

80 percent of the Senegalese players are starters too. Boulaye Dia was signed same time as Danjuma but he got injured, thankfully he has started light training. Nicolas just made his debut. Balo Toure has been starting at left back for AC Milan lately.

90 percent of those players(Morocco and Senegal) are under 26 years old.

The photos below are for the French Bayern boy
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 6:45pm On Oct 22, 2021
I care about the competitiveness of these so-called over-hyped African countries! If these are their top players then the Super Eagles have nothing to fear!
Some Europa teams are better than these teams you listed!
Also, the Senegalese Villereal guys don't even make the matchday squad. The Bayern guy is French!
How many of the Moroccan guys' start for their clubs nor are under-30 years?
Quality-wise, most African top teams' first eleven are not much apart.
ChrisKels:
Are you sure of what you just wrote, or are you saying this because you don't really know the names of these other players from other African countries? Senegal and Morocco still have about 9-10 players each in the champions league ooo while we only have Chuks and Zaidu who have spent more time on the bench than in the pitch. And the way it stands, only Senegal, Algeria and Moroccan players stand a chance of going home with a golden medal in this year's UEFA champions league. Most of our players are in the Europa league and conference league

Morrocco:-

• Zakaria Labyad - Ajax
• Oussama Idrissi - Ajax
• Mazraoui - Ajax
• Zuhair Feddal - Sporting CP
• Adel Taarabt - Benfica
• Yassine Bounou *Goal keeper* - Seville
• Munir El Hadadi - Seville
• Yousef En-Nesyri - Seville
• Hakim Ziyech - Chelsea
• Achraf Hakimi - PSG

Senegal:-

• Fode Yannick Toure - Young Boys
• Boulaye Dia - Villarreal
• Nicolas Jackson - Villarreal
• Fode Balo-toure - AC Milan
• Idrissa Gana Gueye - PSG
• Abdou Dialo - PSG
• Sadio Mane - Liverpool
• Eduard Mendy - Chelsea
• Bouna Sarr - Bayern Munchen

Salisu and Amartey, EKong and Balogun same level. Kudus and Iwobi same level. Partey and Ndidi are on the same level. Wakaso is not a starter. Iddrisou/Duncan and Aribo/Onyeka are on the same level. Andrey Ayew is better than Simon. Kalmaurudeen is on the same level as Chukweze. Gyasi and Nacho are on the same level.
We trump most of the teams on the bench! All the top African teams are very close in terms of player qualities. Senegal relies mostly on Mane, Algeria on Mahrez!
ChrisKels:
In CB, i would sort out the problem the FA has with Salisu, then I would pair him with Armatey and start the pair ahead of Ekong and Balogun.

In the midfield, though my personal opinion, the trio of Partey, Wakaso and Kudus looks better than the trio of Ndidi, Iwobi and Aribo, but it would be a great battle if Onyeka is played ahead of Aribo

Honestly, I see that jersey as the best. I still have fond memories of Senegal 92. That jersey looked good on all the supereagles players.
The jersey was good but allowing a sub-per Ghana to score 2 goals from corner kicks is not a fond memory for me. Yekini missing scores of chances. That match made me sad!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom:
Haaland having more goals than Osi does not mean he is a better player!
Awoniyi has 5 non-penalty Bundesliga goals playing for a mid-table team while Haaland has 7.
Who says Awoniyi can't score as much as Haaland playing for Dortmund?
Notably, Haaland is the striker with the most shot on/off-target in the world.
This simply means, he gets the most passes in the attacking area than any other striker in the world!
Unfortunately, the story is not the same with Napoli's creative players.
Osi feeds on scraps yet he has 5 seria A goals!
Therefore, in what aspect is Haaland better than Osi? Hold up, dribble, shooting, passing, heading, jumping?

TheGoodJoe:
Now we have our own but people will prefer him coaching the NPFL instead of the Super Eagles.

We need the right coach for the Golden generation of Nigerian football.

I see what I call tactical wastage in our players. The likes of Ebuehi and Aina so under utilised. Iwobi is a pure gift and it will take tactical ingenuity to unlock the magic in him.

We have been too blessed to waste it. Him who much is given, much is expected.

We have a striker whi is setting Italy on fire. Osimhen.

We have another striker blessed with a left foot which can only come from God. Iheanacho's finishing.

We have a midfielder who was described as a Gift from God..Nwakali.

Many more wasting but we want efficient.

I won't talk too much about this.
Do you know that Amuneke is Ejuke's agent? He also fought to be Nacho's agent few years ago. That alone has disqualified him from the SE job. We can't afford another Keshi at this moment in time. The best of them (Oliseh) was a disaster! Abeg, let Rohr rest.

The Algeria team that cannot beat Burkina Faso will beat Ivory Coast? The hype this Algeria team gets on this platform is laughable. One would think they beat everybody 3nil on their way to winning the 2019 AFCON. Don't mind them jare!
Ppogbae:
At AFCON, they went to penalties. Ivory Coast is a formidable side and are more than capable of beating Algeria. It ain't far fetched.
