Those Eto o boys, I no wan see them at all. Big, strong, a good goalkeeper, and a potent attack. I can still manage Abedi boys cos they lack a potent attack and their keeper is like Okoye's younger brother.
safarigirl:
The 10 teams set for the playoffs:

Senegal
Tunisia
Morocco
Algeria
Nigeria
Egypt
Ghana
Cameroon
Mali
DR Congo

Bretheren, of these 10, 9 are on the Top 10 African nations in FIFA rankings, only DRC is outside Top 10, and they are #14

Playoffs will be bloody. There will be no easy draw, especially not for Nigeria. Everywhere just red for us

If we avoid those stubborn North African nations, we have to deal with the rivalry with Ghana on one end, and the rivalry with Cameroon on the other end. Na only DRC and Mali we no get rivalry with.

Therefore, our best bet is most likely DRC and Mali, a close third could be Egypt. I no wan use eye see Abedi Pele boys, or Eto'o brothers for this playoff, God abeg

My takeaway based on the matches I watched:

All the African teams will struggle to score against us from open play.

Getting the attack right is our only headache to conquering Africa.

My observations and suggestions:

In the first half, we created some good chances because of Ighalo and Oshimen's movement. Had it been we are clinical the game would have been put to bed in that half.

Getting our substitutions right in attack will be the game changer for us!

Onachu and Iheanacho combinations cannot produce anything good.
Both lack work ethic and cannot beat a man.

I will suggest the invitation of Dennis and Okereke for these 2.

It is not easy playing African teams and if Cape Verde is a small team that won't be put in pot 2.

We have the squad, playing together and understanding one another is the key and AFCON will give us that opportunity.

Thank you, SE, and Congrat Nigeria!

We move!

The only good team Algeria played is Burkina Faso and they struggled badly! Algeria's team lacks depth. This is a fact! The SE has the ammunition but a very stupid coach. What is the purpose of playing Iheanacho when we need someone that can put pressure on the defense through dribbling? Iheanacho is a bad footballer and Rodgers knows!
andrewbaba44:
Algeria is currently better than super eagles ,you are just looking for a way to get at Algeria

Burkina Faso has always been a troublesome African team ,so because dem draw Algeria mean say Algeria be like super eagles

Rohr has killed the confidence of this team!
Mujtahida:
Rohr is a sadist and it's showing in his style of play

Burkina Faso is a very good team! Algeria is as Average as Super Eagles!

What can Iheanacho do? To me nothing!

Nigeria vs Carpe Verde and Algeria vs Burkina Faso, fight to finish!

We should have been at least 2 up. Playing really well.

Nawa for you people sef. There is nothing wrong with having a channel. In fact many football players currently have YouTube channels. Vinicius and Neymar have a running channel. I have watched ekong's channel and it's not as if he's is actively doing something else while others are training. Must you complain all the timehuh
It's not my fault that you can't comprehend a simple write up. Where did I write, it's a crime for footballers to own a YouTube channel? I will not waste my valuable time on morons like you!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom:
Give me this SE team and I would win AFCON! This Rohr is the most stupid coach in Nigeria's history. Substitutions: put Musa installah and vibes. Can't study a game and make Substitutions to change a Game trajectory. He will just stand there and be looking like Mumu. Same thing gainst Argentina and Algeria. Very stupid coach!! Ekong posted on YouTube yesterday and I went to give him my piece of mind on his page. How can a team captain be posting YouTube videos during the period of important games? Can a Harry Kane try that with England? Arrant nonsense. Unserious set of boys! Lose tomorrow you will think Lagos na Abuja/Akwa Ibom.

Benin have themselves to blame! Only needed a draw or a win at home to Tanzania but lost. Only needed a draw against us to qualify for AFCON lost too. Too much to take for the fans!
Ppogbae:
DRC could be disqualified as they made 4 substitutions at four different stoppage in the 2nd half.

Benin has appealed and a DQ could be imminent.

Don't mind them jare my brother! Their last 3 goals have come from free-kicks and a penalty!

How did Ethiopia look against Ghana? How did Benin look against us in their backyard? @joebie Even Carpe Verde at their backyard apart from their goal they did nothing in 90 minutes playing against our bench!
Joebie:
Ghana no get strikers. Even the commentator stated that fact.
We are looking at what a coach has at his disposal and what he can do with them. If all Ghana can do is defend, then defend well when it matters most.
Today, they were very organised at doing that. If it was this South Africa team that played against us they would look like one top team. South Africa looked so ordinary against Ghana.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 10:13pm On Nov 14, 2021
If it was Nigeria that played this way against South Africa all hell would have been let loose. But here comes some hypocrites praising the Ghanaian coach cos his team won by a dubious penalty. A team that had no shot on target in 90 minutes! Okay, oo!

No saves from both goalkeepers!
Ghana will be formidable with Partey and Kudus back from injury!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 8:49pm On Nov 14, 2021
We have done that successfully, the problem is creating enough chances to score!
Ppogbae:
I hope Rohr is watching lol. Ghana has completely shunned any prospect of SA getting a chance at goal, let alone play in their half

Less than an hour for Gh to qualify! lol! I just hope this is not a way to give South Africa a last-minute penalty

Ghana should have been 2 goals up if they have someone like Gyan in attack! I see Ghana winning 1-0 to qualify!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 4:18pm On Nov 14, 2021
I agree with this
samtol4:
For the final play-off to end well and avoid poor officiating, I think VAR & one leg play-off in a neutral ground will be better. No need for the first and second leg; take all five matches to a neutral venue with a functioning VAR. Egypt , Morroco, Algeria and Tunisia playing at home can intimidate referees and visiting teams.

Congo is leading 2:0 against Benin. Congo tops the group. Mali tops the group.... These two teams may be the weaker team compared to Ghana /SA. Ivory Coast / Cameroon
The officiating is ridiculous. The penalty for DRC first goal even surprised the DRC players! Looking at this match, I can predict that SA/Ghana match will end in a draw and the Super Eagles will get at least a draw to go through on Tuesday (CAF effect). It's DRC vs Benin, not Congo!

Nigeria just needs a draw against Cape Verde to qualify for the next round. Why am I this jittery especially with the performance of our boys today? Was it not the same draw we needed to qualify against Angola at the Sanni Abacha stadium, Kano in 2006 World cup qualifier that became an eye sore when they beat us 1-0. After today's match, I have been asking myself if really we can make it.

I understand that in today's match, Rohr didn't want to be too adventurous but his conservative style killed today's game. So many back passes which we should never try with Cape Verde.
Angola didn't beat us 1-0 in Kano. The 1-0 was in Angola when most of our players declined invitation.

Mujtahida:
I support this.
Apokguma is not a CB. He plays as a wing back. Rohr deployed 352 today yet used players that are not familiar with the system. Aina plays LWB and Apokguma plays RWB for Torino and Hoffenhiem respectively but the clueless Rohr would rather play one of the best creative player in ligue 1 as a wing back and a predominantly LB as a LWB. Both Moses and Collins suppose to give the team width but were clueless. Most times the wings were empty.

This team cannot qualify for the world cup with this Rohr in charge!
No decent chance in the 2nd half!
Turning your wingers to midfielders and defenders against Liberia?
What then will you do against Cape Verde in Lagos let alone the other top nine teams?
This Rohr wants to be unfortunate, abi!
