Germany playing like Bolton wanderers. Just imagine Nigeria playing like this after going two goals down, you will start hearing African football is trash!

Oga Kog haahhaa! No vex
Kog45:
Haha Oga Fab...Black phobia'?bro remember nobody said beating Bulgaria was a fluke but saying Spain should not warrant word black phobias....just a discourse on Nigeria vs Spain. If you disagreed just convinced us like thegoodjoe and we move on.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 4:36pm On Jun 29, 2021
Don't mind them! Blackphopias!
CASTAGNE:
if it was a European team it'd have been a masterclass but of course it's the average Nigerian team so it's a fluke grin
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 4:34pm On Jun 29, 2021
Oga Kog, remember we won the Olympics just 2 years earlier. On paper, the 1998 squad was our best-assembled team ever. Our bench was filled with stars. We lost against Paraguay cos we have already qualified and we played our second team. We defeated both Spain and Bulgaria two very good teams. We outplayed the Danes on every front. Both Kanu and Okocha were squandering one chance after the other. Only someone that watched highlights will tell me that beaten Spain and Bulgaria was fluke.
Kog45:
Oga thegoodjoe hmmm...pls just blame Zubizaretta for that Lawal goal.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 4:25pm On Jun 29, 2021
Tell me about how Spain scored their goals?
jihday:
Mutiu's goal from setpiece, Lawal's goal GK lack of concentration, Oliseh scored out of nothing. We were outplayed for long period, Spain had the better chances. Hallmark of a fluke victory
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 4:23pm On Jun 29, 2021
How did they deserve it? How many European countries have won the world cup or even reached the Quarterfinal to deserve such amount of representation?
humility33:
You're talking as if Europeans were given 16 reps on a platter
They deserve it with their chuk in above average performance. Africans dont even deserve that much reps self because we have not justify it in recent past let an Africa team win the world cup then we can now talk of more reps for africa

We barely even make it to second round whereas the Europeans do troop in the last 16 in numbers same with asians sometimes
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 3:36am On Jun 29, 2021
Ebeuhi to Veneza and Arokodare to Amiens completed!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 2:59am On Jun 29, 2021
Africa had just five teams while Europe had more than twice as much. Africa no be am in what way? Nigeria don beat Spain before even when they were favourite, same with Senegal beating France, Cameroon beating Argentina, Ghana etc. So which is Africa no be am. What has Switzerland, Austria, Hungary achieved in football? But cos they are Europeans you people will start praising them to the gallery. Football no be mathematics. This Switzerland team can never beat us. Take that to the bank!
andrewbaba44:
We don pass our point but some of una no go gree as usual

We love super eagles as you do ,African teams no be am at all

You think it’s by having salah and co that are toothless when it comes to international big stage ?

Nigeria and Senegal go draw Brazil and e go reach the main stage dem go fumble

Did any African team made it past the group stage at the last World Cup ? Yes or No
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 12:59am On Jun 29, 2021
Did Senegal not beat Poland? Did Portugal the European champion beat Iran too? How many did Spain beat Iran? Did Nigeria not beat Iceland? Did both Nigeria and Senegal not draw Brazil? Ukraine could only manage to draw our second team? The world cup is next year no cause for alarm, we shall see then!
andrewbaba44:
Is it by better than mane salah mahrez? you dont need to be better than mane before you perform

What can these names do on big stages ?

Same salah could not help egypt to win ordinary below bang average ekuke saudi arabia

Did morocco with their stars win iran ?

Abeg talk another thing baba
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 12:26am On Jun 29, 2021
The pitch is the only difference here. The last time I checked none of the wing forward in this tournament is better than Mane/Salah/Mahrez, none of the right-backs is better than Hakimi. The defenders have been atrocious, anyone better than Koulibaly? We Africans with inferiority complex. If you argue about the quality of the pitch no problem but the quality of football is at par with top African teams.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 12:19am On Jun 29, 2021
Please remind me of the last time a European team whips an African team at a major tournament even when they had quality world-class players.
humility33:
Are you for realhuh You mean the aforementioned teams can beat any of this teams in the last 8??

Bro wake up oohh they will whip africa teams
SportsRe: U-17 World Cup - 2009 Switzerland V Nigeria - 2021 France V Switzerland Euros by fabyom: 12:17am On Jun 29, 2021
So you expect a Nigerian player to have the same opportunity as a European in a European Club team? Why are you too not schooling in Europe?.
UKBobo:
If you look at the team that beat Nigeria 1-0 in that final, many of their squad players have gone onto develop and star in the senior team which beat France this evening on penalties - Seferovic, Rodriguez, Xhaka.

How many of that Nigerian team have progressed to the senior team
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 12:08am On Jun 29, 2021
The quality of footy displayed today by these European teams was amazing.
Fortunately for African teams, this tournament has shown that most of these European teams have only few elite/world-class players.
They are definitely beatable.
Most of these teams will struggle against Morrocco, Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Ghana.

Basco, please let it slide! We gatchu!
BascoVanVeli:
No disrespect but u are talking nonsense. Which one is a tirade? U don't have anything to say. So people don't call NPFL players old ba? Just to win an argument u forget reality. A man has 10 goals this season and u are bringing in sentiments. How many have the other midfielders scored combined? Then u shout Rabiu Ali's name with your loudest voice so people forget about Musa because u know that one is inexcusable.

Why would I expect to stop them from going anywhere? U are the one putting ur heart into it I was just having a normal debate.

I still maintain that no team in this Euros can defeat the Italian team in normal or extra time.
mostob:
Bro..this Austrian team ain't a walk over. This is a knockout stage bro. Teams are always cautious.

What do Nigerians really want? Imagine him calling up Kano Pillars players instead of Akwa United, these same peeps will start shouting Fulanization or quota system BS.
BascoVanVeli:
Honestly I feel the same way. Especially after finding out Mexico will use their foreign based players. If I were in charge of Akwa United I would not allow my players to honor that call up.

Mr man grow up! Read Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:13, Matthew 6:14.
IDENNAA:
First of all , dont tell me what my "view of tribalism" means. If your people didnt want a country with Igbo why did you renege on the aburi accord pact , then went ahead to fight a 30 month war that claimed the life of about three million Igbo and some minorities, most who are children and women. And now you are worried about peoole taking jobs , creating wealth and living peacefully in your land.

Secondly; you are indvertently clamouring for the breakup of the "nation" going by your own understanding of nationalism. You seem to love the idea of a nation but you dont want the responsibilities.

Finally , left me drop this warning; the blood of the innocent lives wasted in that useless war will never go in vain! You people wanted this. You won the war , gloated and jubilated....now , its time to pay the piper!

@BascoVanVeli is the man. Instead of peeps listening to the message, they busy monitoring the accent. Na wa for them oo.
People's different experiences and exposure influence their behavior and speech patterns.
AndSunGorilla:
Sir, Joe, BVV is not using a fake accent, he grew up in the US before coming back to Nigeria as an adult. So the accent can't just go away. If there's a fiercely proudly Nigerian and African (though annoying sometimes) it's this man, Basco. He loves 9ja and does everything both reasonable and unreasonable to defend Nigeria and Nigerians and works hard to showcase our good side to the the world.

Our ladies, none like them in Africa in every aspect of life.
I could vividly remember how I cried when Charity Opara lost that lead in the final lap of the 3rd leg.
Ogunkoya almost made up for it.
They gave their all for the love of country and one another.
The commentary was one of the best I ever heard in Athletics.
#Allforone. #Naija.

Nobody gave us a chance to win any medal but these heroes gave their all for the love of country.
Nigeria Athletics at its very best.

This guy you get problem ooo!
codemaniacs:
this is a sports thread.... but let me respond

we are already divided because of our ethnic differences, humans are naturally supportive of people from their own ethnic nation...

like I said "What the current pr:esident is doing is te:rrorism and conquest and violent tribalism that promotes hatred, tribalism can be practiced without harming other ethnic nations.. which is something both the current president and zik never understood..."

Zik, Ojukwu, ironsi already did what bu:hari is currently doing just that b:uhari has out done Zik...

I don't bother about other regions in Nigeria apart from the SW unless I become the President nothing concerns me with the other regions unless I'm going for a wedding or tourism purposes...
