We'd consider this. Thank you!

vickyehi:
I dont think it is feasible because a common law partner by definition in canada implies that you have been living with the said individual for at least 1-2yrs and have Bill's or kids in common.

This would imply that the person must have already been you partner BEFORE you submitted your AOR. Thus, not declaring it was a misrepresentation of your facts at the time of AOR.

Wayout:
You can choose to do a court wedding at any point within your application and add your spouse without any recourse.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 2:12pm On Oct 02, 2018
No, I didn't.

Thank you for your input though!

vickyehi:
It does count as a misrepresentation solely because your answer to the question of do u have a spouse or common law partner was "NO".

If you put yes and indicated him as non accompanying then that's a totally different ball game but am guessing you didnt.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 2:11pm On Oct 02, 2018
This is definitely the easiest way out of this then. Thank you!

Eraytee:
just as others have weighed in on this, the only way and easiest way to add him now that your application is under processing is by going to registry which will not for any reason raise any red flag after adding him, na POF go change shikenna and he would do the norms (PCC and Meds)
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 12:42pm On Oct 02, 2018
Yeah, proving it is the problem. Anyway I have dropped the idea, to avoid stories that touch. Thank you.

ottawasenators:
This will prove tricky in Nigeria considering that common-law partnership aint recognized in this part of the world. The question now is how u wana prove that? grin grin
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 12:40pm On Oct 02, 2018
Lol yeah, I have decided not to go that route anymore. Thank you for helping out.

smslive2:
Why do you want to make things difficult for yourself? Why not go to registry and then use the marriage certificate as proof? Abi you guys don't love each other? You know that common-law partner isn't that common in Nigeria and there might be more questions than answers if you want to follow that route but having said that, if you have enough proof, please go for it
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 12:37pm On Oct 02, 2018
Yeah. On CIC website it says we need to have lived together for 12 consecutive months.

I think I'd just leave the application as is and either sponsor him later or he'd start his own express entry application, just to avoid stories that touch.

I was just considering the lengthy processing time for sponsorship but I think it's better than having everything go down the drain because of any form of misrepresentation.

exquisef:
My thoughts exactly. I think you need to have lived together for 12months or there about if im correct not soo sure sha...
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 12:23pm On Oct 02, 2018
Okay. Thanks.

Do you have any idea what they would need as "proof"? I've tried reading up on their site but it doesn't say anything about that. I just want to know if they'd want stuff like joint bill payments and all that to show that we've lived together.

Plus I hope it won't count as misrepresentation that I am now including him after I've submitted my application? We just didn't have plans of moving together before cause he has some stuff to finish up here but I am now considering the idea.

smslive2:
As long as you can prove that you are both common-law partners, i think you can.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 11:04am On Oct 02, 2018
I've been thinking about this for a while now and I just need clarification from the house. Please is it possible to add a common-law partner to your application after eAPR or after PPR?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 11:09am On Sep 27, 2018
Although I am yet to get PPR, what I simply did was write the letter with all the details and i mailed it to my mum for her to sign and scan back to me. I didn't get mine notarized.

twetey:
Good Evening Loving Family,
Please I intend to get the Pof from my dad who resides outside the country though he plans to transfer it from his naija acc to mine. Please how do we go about the gift deed in this case.
Can he write a letter stating that he is giving me the funds out of compassion as my father and other necessary details, sign and send it to me while I get it notarized here in naija. Or must a lawyer be involved?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by Fadia: 11:13am On Sep 26, 2018
S/he would still have to prove the relationship sha, along with submitting proof that the person is truly a citizen/PR (T4, utility bills, picture of PR card or passport). These things might be quite hard to get if s/he cannot currently contact the person.

I think your option of writing an LOE after would work sha but I'm also hoping it doesn't count as misrepresentation too, being as s/he has already claimed the points and still doesn't have a way to prove the relationship or that the person is actually a citizen/PR.

PS: I can't remember if extended family members actually give points though, I think it is just siblings. I added my aunt to my application and I'm not sure it gave me points (well to be fair, I actually didn't know how to check)

Tojued:
This is the question they ask : do you have a relative in Canada who's a PR or citizen?

They don't ask : do you have a relative in Canada whom you can prove you're related to?

I only said what I'd do if I were in such shoes... Based on others' experiences the VO would simply deduct the 5 FSW points since you're unable to establish relationship. But all n'a still my opinion sha.

You now have to make appointments at Children’s Practice too.

And make sure you get there very early (well before 7am) to write your name.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Fadia: 10:44am On Jul 12, 2018
Yeah, I’ve been trying to change that but I haven’t seen that question again since the very first time I answered it. Also, it’s just meant to be a temporary thing till I get my own place. I don’t plan on being there for long. Just somewhere to stay after I land.

amdman:
An aunt adds no marks to your CRS, so you do not need to go to great lengths to prove relationship. However, I suggest you remove the fact that she will be your host. The idea of permanent residency is that you are able to handle all your living expenses by yourself without aid from the Govt or family.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Fadia: 10:36am On Jul 12, 2018
Thank you! I’ll tell my mum to get it done. Can we do it on behalf of my aunt though?

bronze25:
I think you should go to NPC to get attestation of birth for you mum & aunt. Ensure that the attestation shows their mother's (your grandmother) maiden name that's one way to prove they have the same mother.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Fadia: 10:31am On Jul 12, 2018
Thanks! Can I get the letter on behalf of my aunt though?

o2:
Get a document (letter of attestation) showing they they have same mother. They don't have to have same father. The stuff is that the name of both parents will show on the letter of attestation.

You can back it up explaining the remarriages grin it will end in praise. To get the letter of attestation done, go to any NPC office. The document is accepted because there was no authentic birth certificate when our parents were born.

Note that you will get the letter of attestation for both your mum and your aunt.

Hello everyone,

Please I’m post ITA and I have an issue that I need opinions on.

When filling my profile I stated that I have an aunt as a “Relative/Family” and who would also be my host. Time to upload documents and I’m seeing that I have to show “Proof of relationship” apart from “Family member proof of status”.

Now here lies the issue, my mum and her sister have different dads and as of now my grandma isn’t married to either of them anymore (I have a third grandpa). How can I show the proof of relationship when my mum and her sister never bore the same last name?

Also, when my grandma was married to my mum’s Dad she was a Muslim but when she married my aunt’s Dad she converted to Christianity and changed her name so her name on their birth certificates (when we eventually find it) isn’t even the same.

My aunt wrote a letter describing the family tree but I don’t know if that would suffice as it’s our word against theirs (VOs).

I want to know how I can go about proving this and if it has any effect on my CRS because I’ve been seeing that people are usually only awarded points for siblings.

Congratulations! God is indeed too faithful to fail!

Guys its 3:40 am now. Hubby said he felt somehow and needed to check his email. I told him to sleep. Well, he checked and showed me a PPR mail. 39 days post AOR on the dot. We asked God for 45 days max for processing before we sent our application and he did it in less than that. I couldn't help myself i started laughing and crying at the same time. Surely, there is a God somewhere. Will tell my soon. Let me continue with my worship because i can't sleep again.

As long as they're listed on the EE profile as dependents they'd have to show POF for them

Bellniki1:
They are not directly dependent on the lady but dependents of the lady's husband.
Please note that the lady is the principal applicant and the husband has children before the current marriage.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Fadia: 8:58pm On Jun 12, 2018
Are they part of your dependents? If yes, then you need to show POF for them too.

Bellniki1:
Please, for a lady who has step children, does she have to show POF for her husband's children as well?

I'm not exactly sure but I think you will need to complete the whole process and be inducted before you WES can give you the full 3 years because you would need to give WES your professional diploma (final certificate) and without getting inducted you won't have that.

ekaskie007:
Good morning, please with my B.Sc to enroll for CIPM i will need to start from intermediate II. Will i have to complete the professional II level to claim 2 or more certificates or only intermediate II is fine. Thank you.

Thanks guys! Seems like the process is a whole lot easier now. Did mine last year and I had to keep calling a lecturer I know there to help follow up.

Your friend should send a mail to academicaffairs@covenantuniversity.edu.ng
Also copy, services.alumni@covenantuniversity.edu.ng
HotChoco2:
The person does not need to go there in person. He just needs to request for his transcript to be sent to WES from services.alumni@covenantuniversity.edu.ng

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Fadia: 10:18pm On Jun 10, 2018
I'd advise you list all of them, no matter now lengthy. You have to keep in mind that if you do not do so then the siblings whose names are not mentioned might never be able to claim you as their sibling in the future because IRCC would not have them in your records.

I interned in a US organization that processed PR and Citizenship for immigrants and I know that this can cause issues there so just think of how much worse it can be in Canada - a country that is notorious for finding information, no matter how hidden.
QSola:
I mite end up listing over 23 siblings. Naaaa. Let me stick to those mentioned

You can reword the one under the applicable NOC. Or you can send me a PM. We can work on it together. But try to come up with something before you send the PM. I can help with fine-tuning it. Trying to encourage you to DIY. Google is a good place to start.

Hello everyone, thank you for your help so far. I have gained and learnt a whole lot from this thread although i have been a silent reader. I however have a concern I am hoping anyone can help me with.

I joined a startup in march with the staff strength of just 2 staff (myself and my boss) and my duties so far have been that of a Personal/Executive assistant which is what I picked as my NOC. The issue now is that I do not have a contract of employment or list of duties being that it's a very new company and I'm the one meant to create it anyways. I am now trying to come up with a formal list of duties for an Executive Assistant (NOC 1222) and I am having trouble with it because I do not want to make it look exactly like what's on the CIC website. My duties aren't streamlined and direct as I practically not only act on behalf of the company, but also on behalf of the family when the need arises.
Is there anyone that has worked as an executive assistant and has their list of duties here? I would appreciate it if I could get this as soon as possible as my boss travels tomorrow and would not be back till the end of the month, by which time I would like to have submitted my profile as I have all other things ready.

Thank you all for your very much anticipated help.
