I assume that you have done all your homework...Just try not to be too nervous infront on the VO, it may be difficult for you to hide but u can.

God will surely do it for you..favour will follow u yafunyafun.

Olatomide: Visa was granted in lagos. Interview was slated for 7:30am, didn't get in till around past 10. The VO at window 1 was denying virtually everyone, prayed he shouldn't attend to me, alas my number popped up. He questioned me on everything possible and checked each document, in the end I was granted. Headed to UTD for my graduate studies in Geology. Sorry it aint explicit.

Ms Nas: okay. so i had my interview at the lagos embassy this morning (7:30am).
We did check in, biometrics and all. sat down waiting for my number to come up.
was number 119 and had a f-1 person before and after me.
I tried as much as possible to be calm :d, but i was failing miserably in me. i noticed a the black elderly lady in window 5 was giving people time to talk, but she denied quite a few. the asian guy in window one was denying, tho some of them were justified. there was a guy in full yoruba attire, with cap to match who said he's going to the us for ogun ufestival :d :d. he denied the f-1 guy after me. but the caucasian lady in window 2 was giving at a percentage of 85%. she was smiling and laughing with people sef.
After a while, I noticed that they had passed my number and had reached 199. I approached the security and complained, but the guy said I should chill and wait for my turn. But I said no, and he said okay...approach one of the VO's when they're free. I was scared, but I approached the lady in window 2, and she told me to wait till she finishes with the guy in front of her. She called me afterwards....

Me: Good Morning (which a weak smile, I was tired)
VO: oh, good morning Ma'am. Can I have your docs please?
Me: (passes it
VO: why are you going to the US?
Me: For my masters degree in Information Technology.
VO: okayy, nice! (Beams a smile)
So why did you choose this school?
Me: Well asides the fact that the school is affordable for my sponsor (she laughs), I also get to work with Professor Fang, he's published a lot of works in International and American Journals. He's current research topic is similar to mine too. The school curriculum is top-notch as well. I get to do a lot of practicals.
VO: oh wow!! I like. You're tech savvy!
That was when I laughed. I said yeah, something like that.
VO: What did u do for UG?
Me: Physics
VO: Cool!! You must be really smart.
Did u do GRE?
Me: Yes! I took both GRE and TOEFL. (I quickly passed my score reports for her to see)
VO: oh, I see you have good scores here.
How many schools did you apply too?
Me: 4.
VO: Who's sponsoring you?
Me: My father.
VO: what does he do?
Me: He retired as a director at the federal ministry of Works in Abuja. Now he's into importation of Industrial Generators (just like the ones you use here at the embassy), cars and computer from Japan, China and Korea.
VO: Okay. (She didn't ask for my statement of account)
Picks my I-20, and puts it into my passport. I was like, No! No!! No!!! Don't gimme those back! (Inside of me oo)
She brings out pick-up slip, circles Oshodi and said "You can pick up your Visa at Apapa on thursday!

Praise the Lord!!!
Many F-1 Visas were denied tho! It wasn't entirely the VOs fault, some of them couldn't express themselves well(stammering and all) and some of them don't know Jack about what they came there to do

If I have applied for visa lottery before but didn't win, will the VO still have access to the info I filled in then cos a church member in my uncle's church applied for visa lottery for some of us but put in ma uncle& his wife's name as name of parent but now that I wanna go for studies, I've been putting my dad's name as name of my sponsor& I've been denied thrice. Could that be what is responsible ?? If it is, can it be corrected??

can recall your experience at the last three interviews....if u can pls let ur know?

Knowing the questions u were asked and the answers u gave could help determine the cause of your denials.

I/we have seen several instances where someone who has played the visa lottery still got his student visa approved and cases where it was also rejected.

If your denial has been based on the lottery u played then only God can/may make the VO overlook it...because to them you have once had an immigrant intention.

It can be undone if u haven't made your final submission, just go back to your application and have your details edited.

If you really want to go to a bible institute you can go ahead n book for an appointmnt however your chances of getting the visa (are/may be) slim.

I have my passport, statement of acct, sevis fees print out, DS 160 confirmation printout,MRV receipt, certificates,landed property document(home tie)I will get my 5cm passport photo at the embassy. It is possible, the former application may not matter, as long as u are able to defend the reason why you need to go for the conference and how the conference relates to your field of study/interest.

Na error be that õ, everything has to correlate...if u scheduled an appointment at the Abuja Embassy it means u have to choose Abuja Embassy also on your DS160 form.

Note that you can only attempt to check for available dates 5 times in a day, so use them wisely.

You just have to reapply, it may not be the reason though.

I have seen peeps who have played the visa lottery get their visas and i have seen some get denied.

risher the visa lottery is where the problem has been coming from, üŗ names popped µρ as someone who has played the visa lottery before therefore they believe uv got immigration intent.
