Supposing PDP eventually zones its ticket to south, I’m of the thinking that the two strongest contenders would be Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and former Governor of Anambra, Mr Peter Obi.

Now, while Wike seems to be popular among party stakeholders, his popularity outside the PDP is very much doubtful. Peter Obi on the other hand, might not be as popular within PDP stakeholders for obvious reasons, but his popularity within the electorates is not in doubt.

With Peter Obi, PDP is assured of victory in SE and SS and about 30 percent of votes from the Southwest, depending on who APC candidate is. But Wike cannot even boast of winning SS for PDP not to talk of SE and SW.

Up north, both Wike and Peter Obi are not popular up there but I think Wike’s image is more damaged in the north than Peter Obi’s. So with a strong running mate, Peter Obi is most likely to win the NC, and garner considerable votes in NW and NE, especially if Atiku throws his support behind him.

So there you have it….

Who do you think would be PDP’s better choice between Peter Obi and Wike?
