This is the information in the bulletin circulated at the University of Ibadan, also at the school's website.

WE are using this platform to inform the
members of the general public and all
the students of The University of Ibadan
(UI) that the school will be re-opened on
the 4th of January, 2014 according to
the Governing Council of the institution
which sat based on the directives of the
Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Federal
Universities and the National Universities
Commission.
However, The Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU) said strike is still
ongoing until FGN meet their demands.
In the official bulletin of the university,
which was signed by its registrar and
secretary to the council, Mr. Olujimi
Olukoya, and released on Friday, 7th
December, 2013 the governing council f
the University of Ibadan explained that
the re-opening became necessary in view
of the consideration of all matters
relating to the on-going Academic Staff
Union of Universities strike, at its recent
meeting.
The bulletin stated that, “Consequent
upon the directives of the CPC which
directed the Vice-Chancellors to re-open
universities for academic and allied
activities to commence, the management
on Tuesday, directed the deans and
directors to open resumption register for
academic staff willing to resume work to
sign, on or before December 4, 2013.
“At its extra-ordinary meeting held on
Wednesday, December 4, the school’s
governing council deliberated on all the
actions taken and ratified by the
Committee of Provost, Deans and
Directors and ratified them. The Senate
at its special meeting held on December
4, also considered the revised academic
calendar for the remaining part of the
second semester of 2012/2013 session
proposed by the Committee of Provost,
Deans and Directors and approved.”
All students of The University of Ibadan
should take note of their resumption
date- 4th January, 2014.

Thanks for your prompt response, i will definately need your help sir, during d learning process.
Pls how can i start preparing myself beforehand, as the learning starts January 2014? U know any good ebook for dummies on how to learn norwegien language, i can download?
Any advice on preparation is really appreciated sir.
Thank u

StarFlux: Hey, glad you asked!

Grammatically, Norwegian is similar to English. It won't pose too many problems. It's definitely one of the more overcomable languages when you already know English.

The hardest part is pronunciation, but that comes with time. A rough estimate for learning the basics is 3+ months with hard work.

If there will be need, I can assist you in the learning process.
TravelRe: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by fame12k(m): 10:44am On Nov 27, 2013
@ starflux, your info on dis thread has being very useful, thanks alot.

Am on d verge of starting my processing on working and living in Norway, by God's grace i will start Norwegien language learning online with a recognized body, where i will be issued certificate on completion.

Please how easy/difficult is it to learning d language, and like how many months can it take to know d basics of the language? As job interview will be done in Norwegien language.

Thanks.

StarFlux: @Icecold Don
The courses you are requesting are by nature competitive, there is nothing I can do to change that. That does not mean you don't have a chance.

My only suggestion is that you reconsider UiO: http://www.uio.no/english/studies/programmes/geosciences-master/index.html
The only requirement is C average. I believe you have a chance here.
Full list: http://www.uio.no/english/studies/programmes/

From my experience ANY of these schools will give you a good education. There are many programmes I can recommend, but I've listed most if not all energy/earth science programmes, so I'm out of links sadly.

1. A certified copy of a valid travel document (passport).
2. You must be admitted to an approved full-time education programme
3. Funds

Many do, but it's depends on your programme.
