What i never understand in this Norway issue is this

since the so called 2.5milion is deposited before visa is issued, what happens if after sending the money you didnt get admission or you are denied visa due to one problem or the other.
Will they send you back the money or will it just go like that?
please may someone answer me?

Yes, your Nigerian account. The money stay for as long as you want, you just need to document the funds, but when you application is accepted, you will need to transfer that money to the school's account. It will then be returned when you open a Norwegian bank account.

I'm unable to confirm if you qualify or not. Send the school a mail and you get a reply in a few days. hhb@uin.no

It depends on how you plan on doing it.

My general advice is to do it through education. You can apply for a Norwegian course at a university (length varies, but it usually requires you to have applied for a degree) and get a normal job at a grocery store or something similar. This will also give you student housing which will save you a lot of money.
But as I said, it depends if you're willing to do that, or go some other way.

Dude, Uni Nordland is a great school, but you can hardly get a job in that city without knowing the language; you can go, if you have enough money to sustain u without working, but if not, look for schools in oslo, stavangar and trondheim, if u want to get work with the english language.

It's always wise to pick up the language while you're there, unless you can do without work. You're not going to get a job the moment you land anyway, so might as well use your time doing something useful.

to pick up the language and speak it like an indigene, and acquire the language skills that will enable you land a job, u need to enrol for it as a full time program and get a certificate in it, and this is only possible after your program or should be the first program you enrol in before beginning your main program; and finally, work no dey that town for black men, except aftenposten, be wise.

@Icecold Don
The courses you are requesting are by nature competitive, there is nothing I can do to change that. That does not mean you don't have a chance.

My only suggestion is that you reconsider UiO: http://www.uio.no/english/studies/programmes/geosciences-master/index.html
The only requirement is C average. I believe you have a chance here.
Full list: http://www.uio.no/english/studies/programmes/

From my experience ANY of these schools will give you a good education. There are many programmes I can recommend, but I've listed most if not all energy/earth science programmes, so I'm out of links sadly.

chidiadi50: please can someone help me.what are the visa requirement for study in norway?which university in norway can accept second class lower for masters?
1. A certified copy of a valid travel document (passport).
2. You must be admitted to an approved full-time education programme
3. Funds

Many do, but it's depends on your programme.

Hey, glad you asked!

Grammatically, Norwegian is similar to English. It won't pose too many problems. It's definitely one of the more overcomable languages when you already know English.

The hardest part is pronunciation, but that comes with time. A rough estimate for learning the basics is 3+ months with hard work.

If there will be need, I can assist you in the learning process.

aodis: Hello StarFlux:

What grade scale is your school using? I assume 5.0 scale in this case. Norway uses a 6-point scale.

C = 4/6

4/6 ≈ 0,66 (66%)

0,66 * 5 = 3.3

But in reality, C minus, C, and C plus are in use (not on official stuff though) so probably C average would include C minus (don't take my word for this) which means you can get in with lower than 3.3, though I can't confirm that.

It's really easy to get these things confused, so I'm not entirely sure what grading scales people's been giving me, but generally, this is the model you want to follow. I apologize for any mistakes.

It's not that complicated. You follow the application procedures given by your university (internet form). Depending on the university, you should have computer uploads of your documentation (the educational background you are using to apply) and ID, as it might ease the application process later on (some might ask for physical photocopies).

You will be informed as to what kind of documentation you should provide. Though, NTNU's language programme, they don't want any documentation for the preliminary form. If this is the case where you're applying, then you shouldn't provide any documentation

Anyway, excluding what I just said, it usually goes like this:
(It is not a requirement to submit any documentation for the preliminary application, but it simplifies the application process later on).

1.ID/passport: submit a copy of the page that has your name, picture, date of birth and nationality on it.
2.Diploma OR documentation of graduation.
3.Complete transcript of record.
chidi odini: please i want to come to Norway. can you tell me more about their.
What do you want to do, work, study, visit?
