Motunrayo Anikulapo-Kuti, daughter of afro-beat maverick, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, has revealed how much she dislikes Davido and his music.

In a chat with Showtime, Motunrayo who takes after her fearless late father explained

Last week, I contacted an Instagram page that has been promoting Davido to post and promote a content I’ve and they said since I’m Fela’s daughter I should pay N20,000. I told them I couldn’t afford N20,000 but N10,000. I later said I would pay N15,000 because I had just N20,000 in my account and I couldn’t exhaust all of it. They made jest of me saying ‘Oh, Fela’s daughter had only N20,000 in her account’. This is one of the reasons I don’t like him; I’ve never liked him.”

She added; “There was a time he came to Afrikan Shrine and sat on my chair; I told him he was sitting on my chair that I was older than him with more than 8 years, that, he should get up for me. I advised him not to think that because he’s Davido he can just come and sit on my chair. He eventually stood up though.”

Many may see Davido as one of the richest musicians on the continent but that doesn’t seem to move Motunrayo as she boasted that she is ten times richer than him.

“I’ve royalties I collect and my net worth is ten times more than Davido’s. If I begin to think of how long I’ve been making money or when I started making millions, Davido had not dreamt of making the money he’s spending now”, she said.

Three people were burnt to death and five others injured in an accident on the Zariagi-Lokoja highway in Kogi early hours of Thursday.

The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Bisi Kazeem, who confirmed the development, said the incident occurred early on Thursday.

He explained that nine people and three vehicles–Toyota Carina, Scania Truck and Mack Tanker–were involved in the accident.

Kazeem said that one person escaped the accident, which he blamed on over-speeding unhurt.

“The deceased were burnt alongside the vehicles, while the injured were taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja.”

He said that an FRSC rescue team, which arrived at the scene after the accident had embarked on removing the wreckage from the road.

The Okene-Lokoja-Abuja highway is classified among the deadliest road corridors in Nigeria.

Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for declaring June 12 as Democracy Day, saying the declaration is “further demonstration of the President’s commitment to democracy”. ICCA/Umunna slams Buhari’s remarks on Ndigbo during the war.

The Igbo Canadian Community Association (ICCA/Umunna) have described as insensitive and callous the insinuations made by President Muhammadu Buhari that the Nigeria Army showed a lot of restraints on Biafrans during the civil war.

In a statement issued from Toronto, Canada, the President of ICCA/Umunna, Chief Ugochukwu Okoro, said Buhari making such comments at a time when Igbos all over the world were observing a remembrance of their loved ones who died during the war is unfortunate and does not reflect the qualities of a democratic leader that should be liberal and inclusive.

President Buhari had during his investiture as Grand Patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) at the presidential villa in Abuja, said that the Nigeria Army were issued strict instructions by the then head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, that Biafrans were not enemies, but “brothers and sisters of the rest of Nigerians.”

Okoro said “It is appalling that President Buhari, being the Commander-in-Chief and an active participant during the civil war meant to exterminate people of Igbo origin across the country could make such statements credited to him. We find his remarks misguided and calculated to assault the emotions of Ndigbo in a manner designed to re-open the wounds of pogrom, holocaust and attempted annihilation meted against the Igbo people in the 30 months civil war waged on the people of the South East region leading to the deaths of over three million Igbo sons, daughters and children.”

“Choosing to use such tragic event such as the civil war, which left three million innocent and defenseless men, women and children dead, to commend the activities of the Red Cross leave more to be desired from the leader of a country. One would have thought that President Buhari ought to have made reference to recent incidents that occurred under his watch to encourage the Red Cross. In March this year, 11 people including three aid workers were killed when suspected Boko Haram militants attacked a barracks in Rann, Borno State leading the United Nations (UN) to evacuate aid workers in the region. It would have been honourable and compassionate if President Buhari showed some humanity by using the event of his investiture as a patron of the Red Cross to reach out to the families of the aid workers hundreds of Nigerians that have lost their lives to attacks under his leadership,” Okoro said.

The ICCA/ Umunna demanded to know from the President Buhari what manner of restraint would leave three million persons dead.

“When President Buhari said the Nigeria Army troops showed a lot of restraints we beg to ask in what ways were these shown; was restraint used in the pogrom carried out in the Northern region during the months of February- July 1967 in which over 500,000 Igbos were continuously being killed in the Araba riots? Was the indiscriminate bombing of hospitals, schools and market places with innocent men, women and children targeted and killed part of the restraint? Was the massacre that occurred in Asaba which left every living male shot to death also a form of restraint by the Federal troops? Was the blockage of food and relief materials from entering Biafra also regarded as the orders of restraint Federal commanders were given? Even with the No Victor No Vanquished Declaration by the Gowon government, was the Abandoned Property Decree and Twenty pounds payment policies of the Federal Government among the restraints President Buhari was referring to?”

The Senator representing Kogi West district in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has accused the state governor, Yahaya Bello, of mobilising thugs to stop him from sharing bags of rice and other relief materials donated to civil servants in the state by members of the Senate.
It was earlier reported that about 40 Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria donated 1260 bags of rice to ameliorate the sufferings of civil servants in the state, who were yet to be paid their salaries for 22 months.

Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has ordered striking workers in the state to resume work on Tuesday, October 24.
The state Commissioner for Education, Dr Tolorunleke made this known on social media today.
According to Tolorunleke, the governor has directed that workers who fail to resume work should be sacked and replaced with new staff from within or outside Kogi state.

A director in the Kogi State civil service, Edward Soje, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree in Lokoja, the state capital.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered on Saturday in Lokoja that the dangling body of Mr. Soje was found on a tree behind the mammy market at the Maigumeri barracks, the Nigeria Army Command Record.
The 54-year-old civil servant is believed to have taken his life barely 10 days after his wife of 17 years gave birth to a set of male triplets in a private hospital in Abuja. The couple had been childless before then.
Mr. Soje, a Grade Level 16 Officer in the Kogi State Teaching Service Commission, was being owed 11 months’ salary arrears as at the time he took his life.
He hailed from Ogori town in Ogori -Magongo Local Government area of the state.
He had before killing himself travelled to Abuja and left a suicide note for the wife who also works in one of the federal ministries.
“Psalm 121:3 God will not suffer your foot to be moved: He that keepeth you will not slumber. Amen. You and the three boys, the God Almighty will keep you and prosper you, amen. I love you,” according to the suicide note.

The looming industrial crisis in Kogi state

dimension on Wednesday as the organised
labour said the state
governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has 24 hours to

A Director of Planning in one of the ministries in Borno State, whose name has not been revealed, has been arrested by the state Police for allegedly inserting electric heater into the anus of his 10-year old son for being gay. The director committed this inhumane act over allegations that his young had been engaging in homosexual activities with some politicians.
His 10 year old son, however claimed to have been raped at their 1000 Government Housing Estate residence, but his father didn't believe him. US rapper Meek Mill has said that he would face Drake in a boxing match if he got $5 million, also adding that he will let Nicki Minaj be the ring girl for the fight.

Meek who recently broke up with Nicki made this known by posting a clip via his Instagram Live while he was working out at a boxing gym.

It seems like this might be a new trend within the hip-hop industry as Soulja Boy and Chris brown are also bound to settle their differences in the boxing ring.

When Meek was asked by someone also at the gym if he would ”f*ck up” Chris Brown or Soulja Boy he replied that he would instead do that to Drake for ”5 mil”.

Meek Mill and Drake have been at war since 2015, when the former stained the latter’s credibility by claiming that rapper/songwriter Quentin Miller was responsible for crafting some of his music.
