Politics › Re: Gov Dave Umahi, Chris Uba Mount Pressure On Atiku To Drop Peter Obi by Famzer: 1:50pm On Oct 13, 2018 |
Osagyefo98: Barely 24 hours after former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, emerged as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 polls, a clique in Igbo land led by Governor Dave Umahi and Chief Chris Uba has started mounting pressure on the party’s Presidential Candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to drop him.
Impeccable sources close to the Atiku/Peter campaign network said that Umahi, Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and who is well known for his closeness to President Muhammadu Buhari, is alleging that Atiku did not consult them before settling for Obi as his choice. This is despite the fact that the choice of Obi has elicited widespread acceptance across the country.
“As part of the rejection, Gov. Umahi with a few others working behind the scene, has called the meetings of Igbos in Enugu today to formally reject Mr. Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate,” one of the sources said.
For Chris Uba, another PDP chieftain, his opposition to Obi is believed to be informed by economic considerations, as Obi had running battles with him during his days as Governor for refusing to continue illegal payments made to him as the then political godfather of the state.
Meanwhile, the Yorubas have expressed readiness to take the Vice Presidential slot with or without consultations. A Lagos-based lawyer, Barr. Wale Agosu, captured the thinking of the Yorubas when he wrote on Facebook:
“I have never seen a more terrible, wicked and brainless people. Imagine, after all the pressure that HE. Abubakar Atiku should choose his running mate from the West, he still went for an Igbo man. Did you notice that since the emergence of Mr. Peter Obi, Nigerians are united in commending the choice because of its quality? I think from what my friends from Anambra State tells me, Obi is an epitome of good governance and Nigerians rejoice because they see in him a man whose expertise will be of great value to the re-building of our over bastardised country.
“Instead of embracing their own and working with him, some Igbo people are saying they were not consulted. What a people! Is this how they are going to achieve Igbo Presidency?
“The stand of these people means in clear terms that they are rejecting the offer.
“We Yorubas are therefore begging HE Abubakar Atiku to come and pick one of us. We do not even need consultations; just pick one of us because there is no time to waste.
“Let me ask again: Is this how this people will achieve Igbo presidency?”
On his part, another Yoruba lawyer, Barr. Sona Sat, perhaps exasperated by the bickering among the Igbo political elite, wrote in his own Facebook post: “Igbos do not know when to close ranks. I heard Ike Ekweremadu and others have vowed that Atiku must drop Mr. Peter Obi as his running mate. When Osinbajo was nominated, did we hear such in-fighting among the Yorubas? Please come and reason with me!”

Hahaha! This is just mind games. What is the point of likes or shares when you don't have a PVC and not eligible to vote? In Nigeria, most of the real voters are not online and that explains why Saraki won the PDP primaries on Twitter but failed to get up to one third of Atiku's vote at the PDP presidential primary.

paj4love: You still dont understand my point, for me It's of no use to feed a SW candidate for VP because it will be counter productive, SW vote is will be 50/50 or even 60/40 in favour of PDP, and again SW can not be trusted because of there history Hahaha. I agree that the politics of southwest is very dynamic and sometimes unpredictable but I am still telling you that rallying over 10 million people behind a PMB because of this political chess game by the southwest will be made a fait accompli once PDP doesn't take southwest Those APC geniuses just served PDP a Master stroke. Once PDP chooses a non Southwesterner, the campaign will be taken to the Yoruba electorates as a gang up against SW's quest for the Presidency in 2023. Watch out how everything including the kitchen sink will be thrown at Alhaji Atiku the moment he chooses a non Southwesterner with their power of the media. I sincerely pray for wisdom for Atiku |
Politics › Re: Who Will Be The Best Running Mate Of Atiku Abubakar? by Famzer: 6:14pm On Oct 07, 2018 |
paj4love: This is what I will do, I will have (SE & SS) that will give me 12 million block vote as my VP and strategies on how to get 3 million vote from (SW) knowing that same 3 million vote they will give will still include the vote of (SE & SS) living the the SW then focus on other zone for the killer move According to this data,Southwest alone has about 14million and there are Yorubas in North Central States of kogi and Kwara while APC currently controls Imo state and Edo state sir.Now how do you think Atiku will ignore this strategic political group. Most of the se and SS indigenous people will vote anyone but PMB so why should he court voters there?

Because me never see any tangible person Honestly,it is not about antics. We are having a healthy political discussion as stakeholders in the Nigerian project. If you are Atiku, what will you use to get votes from a region with the second highest number of registered voters which the ruling party has given the Vice presidency? Just think about this as a neutral observer |

Odingo1:
On what ground should SW be looking for presidency in 2023 after having 8 years of Obasanjo presidency not long ago, so SE, NC and NE that have not produced presidency since 1999 are just sit down dey look abi. Hahaha. My brother you are not smiling at all! Let me tell you sir,as the political equation currently stands, the Southwest will clinch the Presidency after a PMB presidency because they worked hard for it. Power is not given,it is taken. These guys are geniuses! |
Politics › Re: Who Will Be The Best Running Mate Of Atiku Abubakar? by Famzer: 3:23pm On Oct 07, 2018 |
Odingo1: SW will always divide their vote, they will like to seat on the wall as usual, they didn't vote for Buhari massively in 2015, that is why the Northerners was telling Yorubas that without their vote that Buhari would have won 2015 election. That division itself is strategic but go and check it out,it still serves their political interests. It's a political checkmate because both political parties have to fight for the zone |
