paj4love:Hahaha. Please don't confuse Ekiti and Osun election for national presidential election sir. The South West is seriously angling for the Presidency in 2023 and it's best bet is the Vice Presidency, anything else won't persuade them to vote against APC. Currently,it is the dominant political bloc in the southwest that is backing Prof osibanjo so PDP will give APC a strong edge if it goes to another zone for its Vice presidency slot. It is not that I am particularly happy that the southeast has a lesser chance but PDP will lose the election if doesn't field Southwest |
0monnak0da:You still have not said how Southwest will leave the slot of the Vice Presidency which is like the position of the President in waiting and vote for a less influential position sir ![]() |
paj4love:No because they have the option of Chief Falae sir |
ayomilore:Hahaha,I expect that the victory of Atiku should have taught us all a lesson that you don't win election on the internet. You are advising Atiku to ignore Southwest for Vice President and Tinubu, you are definitely setting him up for loss because you are ignoring the Prof Osibanjo factor when real campaign starts. Southwest won't leave Osibanjo and vote for another zone sir |
ukandi1:The Southwest always foist this political circumstance on Nigeria with their highest voting strength down south and this time is not going to be different. I wish the southeast has enough voting strength to become the beautiful bride but it appears that PDP is left with no better Practical option for victory than pair a Southwesterner with Alhaji Atiku. It's going to be another Falae Vs Obasanjo battle again but this time with the Vice presidency. |
Kkk777:Hahaha. The Southwest won't see the office of Vice President in Prof. Osibanjo and go for Senate President na ![]() |
SoNature:I think you are right about PDP less fancied among the Yoruba but the problem with the East and South East is that they have less amount of registered voters. This was the practical mistake President Buhari made in the past by selecting deputies from the South East. I am just wondering how practical it's that a deputy outside the South West will deliver victory to the PDP |
SoNature:He could use Jimi Agbaje |
modath:I don't think so sir. That's the dominant narrative, have you considered the possibility that some of the supporters of the other candidates truly don't trust their principals and when they had the opportunity to vote in secret, they voted according to their conscience. I am beginning to suspect that even the way Gov. Wike openly showed his support for Tambuwal ended up putting some people off. I am not in PDP but I sense a cold resentment from Gov. Wike towards Atiku. |
Throwback:Sincerely,I am beginning to doubt this popular narrative. This PDP primaries says something about this man Atiku. I still don't believe it's about money sir. |
Hmmm. May the best candidate win.
|
I think they suddenly realized that there's wisdom in such decision taken by inec and sincerely such developments help deepen democracy. Thumbs up to both INEC and PDP.
|
FarahAideed:Really? Sorry,I am just learning that the primaries in Lagos was done by ghosts ![]() You left out the most important thing and started making unfounded allegations against another person. I just made a subtle enquiry from you promoters of PDP to please tell us what you will do differently so we can vote your PDP and you are ignoring it. If you go by my analysis of what we both know as the capacity of a stadium, then your party will need more than the motley crowd of less than 100000 in the stadium to win a presidential election. |
ozento:Hahaha! Do you honestly believe that this picture translate to victory for PDP? The capacity of this stadium when filled completely by humans is less than 100,000 yet Jide Sanwo-Olu alone scored almost 1million votes(10x the full capacity of this stadium) in the just concluded APC gubernatorial primary in Lagos state. Sincerely,I want PDP to convince the electorates with their programs and better Ideas on how it plans to run Nigeria better than APC not all these razzmatazz. Nigerians deserve to know what PDP as a party wants to do differently and excellently for Nigeria.

dre11:If this is true, then this is ridiculous. These are members of ASUU who are threatening to go on strike if their salaries are not reviewed upwards I am particularly appalled that a lecturer would go to the extent of sedating his students so that he could have his way with them. Sincerely, sacking isn't enough, they should be tried and reported to their professional bodies so that their practicing license can be suspended.

Omofunaab2:You are not getting it, it's gone beyond this stage of permutation or character assassination. For as long as the election has not been cancelled and a new date announced, there is no way to replace Dapo. Besides,Monday is the deadline for submission and inec offices have closed for the weekend so writing to inec to witness another primary on Monday and getting inec to reply and mobilize their officials to all wards and organizing any other primaries between now and Monday is practically impossible sir.
|
CROWNWEALTH019:Haba,from attacking Dapo Abiodun now to attacking Asiwaju , you are not sounding like an unbiased umpire o. I think the issue should be how authentic is the news and how does this invalidate the list already released by APC with Dapo Abiodun as Ogun state gubernatorial candidate of APC. |
Dukebaba3v3:It depends on your product and/or service. Nairaland is largely biased to the youth and you may have a low proportion of affluent audience. However,as an entrepreneur, please go ahead and try it and it is best to try it first for a better perspective because I could be wrong. May God help you and bless your effort. I wish you the best of luck.

According to him,he was fired teargas and he was also fired bullets and he's still alive enough to type on Twitter. I hope this time around, tear gas didn't break neck and arms like it did to Gov. Fayose. Sincerely,I don't even know the kind of opposition PDP is playing while thinking and acting like this. They should be using this period to sell their ideas and alternatives solution to problems in the critical areas of national development not sensationalism.
|
Carmal90:Now you are getting it sir. The governors should not have sacrificed the interest of their political party at the national Assembly because they want to replace their senators. I believe lessons have been learnt though. I also think that APC doesn't want a repeat of the scenario that threw up disloyal members of their party as leaders of the two arms of the national Assembly. If I am any of these governors, that will be a more matured way for me to look at things. |
Carmal90:Now I get your point sir. The case in point is that you believe that Oshiomhole is using different standards for different states. I can't agree less with you but the governors in a way caused it by showing poor leadership skills. Apparently, the governors don't realize that they are responsible for the embarrassment their party is facing in the national Assembly because of their poor handling of their relationship with their elected national Assembly members, with senators in particular. So far, with some of these governors now gunning for the Senate,it suddenly dawned on the party that these governors were deliberately orchestrating crisis and disagreeing with their senators for selfish political reasons and they care less even if the Senate embarrasses their party or the President. I believe that the APC national is bent on rewarding the loyalty of some of the few senators who stood by the party and the President so that he could continue to enjoy the confidence of national Assembly members for the remaining time before the next election and of course sack Saraki and Dogara. This is part of the game plan the governors are ignoring at the risk of their political peril.
|
Carmal90:I beg to disagree sir. Some of the issues in some states even precede the election of their political party. Amosu for example, has spent more time attacking Yayi and some of his opponents in his party. He is also relying on the PDP style of choosing winners at the primaries,he threw his hat into the ring as a contestant and sole authority to decide who gets what or not,so he was spreading himself too much so how does that becomes Oshiomhole's fault? He is not even complaining that the primaries were fraught with irregularities, they are just requesting to be granted the power to determine who wins the primaries. As for Akeredolu,I am still struggling to understand how who occupies the Senate should become his priorities because I am not sure if he's performance in office has justified the expectations of the electorates who voted him in against the choice of the incumbent governor then so if I were him,my focus will be to work excellently well and make peace with the senators so that they can work for me in the event that I run for second term. He's taking his intolerance of his opponents in APC too far and he could be consumed. He should learn from someone like Asiwaju Tinubu who takes back even his most vicious opponents when they offer olive branch like Obanikoro,Pedro, etc. They are acting so paranoid to the point that they have this intense hatred for their opponents in the same party than for their opponents in opposition parties. Oshiomhole doesn't need to have anything against them, their own paranoia is enough to kill them politically. |
KenOne:If State governors are truly as powerful as they make many of us believe,it then defies logic that they are the same ones against democratic emergence of winners via direct primaries. What I am seeing is that the governors are not as powerful as they made us think and I think I can guess why. The era of sharing money is over so some individuals have more money than the governors and even some states.Secondly, while some of the governors, especially most of the APC governors who lost out, where wasting their time building new structures and appointing several number of people so that those people will be automatic delegates, some individuals retained and sustained the old and active political brigades of their political party and when the opportunity for direct primaries came, suddenly it was payback time for those abandoned by the otherwise powerful governors. Since incumbent governors have started losing elections,I have learnt that power is transient and the governors are not as politically powerful as we think. Unfortunately, they can't bully the chairman of their party. Any Governor who works against the interest of his party at the polls will be heavily sanctioned for as long as the governor wants to remain in APC. |
Hahaha. On the contrary, Oshiomhole is actually doing great. The direct primaries is for the true Democrats and this will teach the politicians not to take their party members and the electorates for granted. Very soon, all other parties will follow suit and save themselves of cases of manipulated delegates list and render useless the obscene practice of appointing over bloated number of special Advisers and what have you especially by the State governors because all these political appointees are designated as automatic delegates with voting rights.

Sap0:Lobatan. Eni ti o na Ika kan si Omo lakeji re,mererin iyoku koju si. Just keep writing like this, someday you will find 'favor' enough to be greater than Tinubu. |
Sap0:I speak for those who have ,perhaps, a greater stake than you in Yoruba affairs and hold the power to sack Asiwaju in the event he goes off track. But since I know and more exposed to the great power of positive influence a leader holds in the life of the led,I sincerely want Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to succeed. I want everyone around me to succeed in all their legitimate endeavors in life. |
ModsareChevres:No vex. You are the true Yoruba leader.
|
Sap0:I am his slave if that would make you happy. I will rather pray for him to succeed and touch lives of people in a most genuine way than hate or begrudge his hard earned political success while I pray that I become a successful leader of Yoruba extraction like Tinubu someday. It is very very very difficult to lead and a person leading millions of people deserves genuine prayers for success. I have been in leadership long enough and bear scars enough to know that there are some people who in life you can never please and sometimes these haters can even be your blood relatives or best friends. May God give Nigeria great leaders in all levels of leadership.
