FYI the BPF's prize for technology to indefinitely preserve the synapses across a large, whole mammal brain has finally been won. Now that the science has been mostly verified, humans now have a path towards living Biblical lifespans. More details below: http://www.brainpreservation.org/large-mammal-announcement/ Summary: Using a combination of deadly glutaraldehyde fixation and cryogenic storage, researchers have demonstrated a way to preserve a brain’s connectome (the 150 trillion synaptic connections presumed to encode all of a person’s knowledge) for centuries-long storage. This laboratory demonstration clears the way to develop Aldehyde-Stabilized Cryopreservation into a ‘last resort’ medical option, one that would not prevent the patient’s biological death but would prevent the destruction of the patient’s unique connectome, offering at least some hope for future revival via mind uploading. |
If Peter Obi, Wole Soyinka, or Buba Marwa ran for president in the next elections, I would vote for them. Not only that, I would quit my job and use my time and my savings to convince everyone I know to vote for them as well. Why would I do this? Well... Peter Obi During his speech at The Platform 2016 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LLHIgDOSfg), former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, gave specific details of how he would save Nigeria 1 trillion naira per year. Whether or not his plan would work, this is the first time I've ever heard a Nigerian politician give specific, actionable details of how to improve the country. Plus, he ended his term as governor with money left in the state coffers, so he has a track record of dealing with public monies sensibly. Wole Soyinka If Peter Obi won't run, I'd be happy with Wole Soyinka since he is willing to publicly condemn the actions of people more powerful than him. In his memoir, You Must Set Forth at Dawn (https://www.amazon.com/You-Must-Set-Forth-Dawn/dp/0375755144, he names and shames Nigeria's national leaders of the past 40 years for cultivating a culture of greed in the populace; he was exiled by Sani Abacha and only returned after the general's death. While he has no political experience, I trust him to not knowingly take any action that will be to the detriment of the country. Buba Marwa If Wole Soyinka won't run for president, then I'd vote for Buba Marwa. I'm conflicted because he was once a high-ranking member of an instiution that terrorizes defenceless Nigerians. On the other hand, while he was administrator of Lagos state, he introduced some innovations that improved ordinary people's lives e.g. keke Marwa and Operation Sweep, two institutions which now have equivalents in almost every state of the country. Conclusion To conclude: in the 2019 federal elections, please vote for a candidate who has a track record of benefitting the country. For now, I'd vote for Peter Obi, Wole Soyinka, and Buba Marwa. If you know of people who are better suited to run this country, please share their names and why you think they're better in the comments. I don't want to waste my time voting for people who won't benefit me anymore.

zazua:Zazua please give m the approximate price per hectare, even if it is a rough estimate. This will strongly affect my ability to bid for the land. |
Sorry, AceRoyal, I only need land in Enugu state or Calabar state by the border. Do you know any agents in those areas? |
Fellows, please tell me how much it costs to buy 100 hectares of farmland in Enugu state, or at the Camerounian border in Calabar state. I'm starting a self-sufficient community which will provide its own food, poultry, fish, and power on-site. I have a few requirements: * full certificate of ownership (to avoid legal problems) * a visit with the community ruler (to avoid conflicts with our new neighbours) I would appreciate cost estimates of the land so I can contact you for surveying, negotiating etc. |
Hey all, I'm in the job market and I just finished a Ruby on Rails/JavaScript app for learning Japanese characters (kanji). http://www.koggle.net/ You might recognize the word search game even though you don't recognize the characters. If you're interested in Ruby on Rails projects, or Japanese language in general. Please holler back! |
Or you can just download a keyboard layout at http://nigeriankeyboardlayout.com that contains the ₦ as well as other Nigerian characters like ụ and ọ. Cheers! |

deco2come the Website worked today when I tried. Please check on someone else's Internet connection to see if it loads. If it doesn't, I'd like to know what browser and what kind of connection you used. Thanks. |
deco2come, the Umuigbo website looks like a good resource for learning Igbo. If you need an online Igbo-English and English-Igbo dictionary to refer to your students, they could use one that I created http://mkpuruokwu.org/ For example, you can see the definition of house-rat at http://mkpuruokwu.org/dictionary?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=house-rat&dict=en-ig. Best of luck with your project! |
Hello guys and gals. I recently made a searchable online English-Igbo and Igbo-English dictionary. You can find it at http://mkpuruokwu.org/ For example, you can see the definition of house-rat at http://mkpuruokwu.org/dictionary?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=house-rat&dict=en-ig and the translation of odibo at http://mkpuruokwu.org/dictionary?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=odibo&dict=ig-en . The site also has instructions on adding further entries to the dictionary. I hope you all can contribute so we can build this vital Igbo language resource. |
Hmm, I'd probably pick Glo since they have the cheapest local SMS and International rates (at least until October 11). Actual numbers are at http://nairaperminute.com (full disclosure: I'm the developer of the site) |
Just so you know, you can also compare phone charges in a slightly more mobile-friendly site at http://nairaperminute.com (full disclosure: I'm the developer of the site) |
Related to that, you can also check out http://nairaperminute.com for other comparisons of mobile plans. (disclaimer: I developed that site) |
The cheapest right now is Airtel at 12 naira/minute even for international. You can check other prices at http://nairaperminute.com . (disclaimer: I maintain the site) |
