arsetalks:Yah! you talk like I have been supporting PDP, do you know me before? I don't care which party is at the top, the fact PDP did it especially during OBJ's tenure and the corruption levels, shows that this is not the direction Nigeria should take, irrespective political party responsible for doing it, The Fact stills stands, one party state in Nigeria, will result in unprecedented levels of corruption. |

victorels:Nigeria is not an operating system... it is much more complex... BTW, if Nigeria was an operating system, it would a Linux system which affords developers access to all it's API's and can be edited and programmed to achieve any desired outcome for the intended future uses depending on the skills of the programmer (good leaders)... So irrespective of what the Brits did, it is up to Nigeria to reprogram for the future. |
dude, lets forget about past and try think about the future! The forward thinking solutions to Nigeria's problem... |
Simply, Lagos is benefiting the most from "one Nigeria" because the leaders in North are not intelligent enough utilize the stolen money for themselves... |
hmm! I suppose if we are being honest PDP has done good work in Akwa Ibom over the last eight years, even though some will want to deny it. And the APC candidate doesn't appear genuine because he jumped ship at the very last minute to APC and won nomination, therefore, he appears to be a man desperate to fulfil his own ambitions of being the Governor of Akwa Ibom state rather than being genuinely concerned about the interest of Akwa Ibomites! |

well, it is political... everything about APC is political... this are people who claimed the can make 1 naira = 1 dollars, pay 5000 naira to every unemployed graduate in nigeria and end Boko Haram in 1 month... |

politricks:well, the consequences from Nigerian government will be tough on culprits but it would be hardly surprising, if the reason for picking up arms was a responds to government intimidation. regardless of the toughness of the responds from government, a keen understanding of the group, i.e. intelligence gathering will be the key for FG government in the war... TBH, if people genuinely believe in a cause, and they decide to adopt violence, it will become a tough nut to crack, IRA used similar tactics against the UK, now they have their Northern Ireland. |
picasso4u:All the military/democratic government before 16 years ago didn't, OBJ didn't, Yar adua didn't, and jona didn't, sad really!. |
politricks: Idrismusty97: tobimillar:well, I am not a member of IPOB but I am analysing what is most likely to happen... the war-front will not be at any point but it will be everywhere and the enemy soldiers will not be opposite you but within you, common people will not be targeted directly rather the system will be targeted, a break down in the system means a failure of the FG. I would like to plan a war though, because I have done lots of research on it. |
well, Nigerians as usual have failed to read the whole text or understand it! countries like US and UK, people live on credit! that is basically borrowing, All Mr Udom is saying here as a financial expert in his professional life, the state can keep borrowing as long as the money is invested in to profit yielding projects. |
tobimillar: politricks:well, of course you expect an us vs them scenario but, personally if the is a war, it will be a non-conventional warfare and it will target Nigeria's economy, example bombing Nigerian seaport at Lagos and even in Niger Delta... it will not be and Army versus Army war because the is no opposing army... it will just be an underground ground militants/assassins group... assassination of prominent Nigerian public officers... it will be more difficult to tackle than you expect because, you cannot completely rid it out of the fabric of Nigerian society. If something like this happens just know that Nigeria is officially a failed state! |
Any Government That Doesn’t Owe Is Not Serious Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has declared that any government that does not borrow money is not serious. The governor, who took over from Godswill Akpabio, few months back, stated this on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Punch Place, the corporate headquarters of Punch Nigeria Limited, Magboro, Ogun State. The governor said debt profile of the state should not get anyone worried because even developed countries like the United States had incurred debts in the region of trillions of dollars. Asked if it was true that his predecessor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, left an empty treasury, he simply said, “What is the motive of holding money? You don’t just hold money to go and keep it in the treasury. Money is not supposed to be in the bank but to be used for something else. Any government that doesn’t owe is not serious because even America today is indebted to China to the tune of $1.3tn. “If you pull out that amount of money from an economy do you think they will survive? They cannot. So, why are we shying away from owing? We should owe. As a state government I will not shy away from it but I will not collect money to go and do something that will not generate money. “If developed nations are borrowing to progress, why wouldn’t I borrow? If you don’t owe, you cannot develop.” When asked to explain how the state government spent the billions of naira, which accrued to the state from the Excess Crude Account, Emmanuel said the state government had spent a lot on federal infrastructure in the state. He said, “The money received from the Excess Crude Account was N266bn and we put N145bn on federal assets. As of today, we have not got a reimbursement of one naira. So, if you deduct that, you will understand things better. And even though we are the largest producer of oil, since that state was created, the Federal Government has never built one kilometre of road in my state. “There is no Federal Government presence in the whole state, not even one. Even the federal university in my state, the internal roads and infrastructure in it are done by the state government. The teaching hospital owned by the Federal Government is equipped by the state government. “Even the hostels were built by the state government. So, the Federal Government presence in my state has been near zero. We even have a federal approval for reimbursement of the funds but it has not come. The past state government administration inherited a total decay of infrastructure but today things are different,” he added. http://dailypost.ng/2015/12/02/any-government-that-doesnt-owe-is-not-serious-governor-udom-emmanuel/ |
I am sure the will be casualties on both sides |

likely just an error! |
well, this is just the beginning...! |
Great, Akwa Ibom Govt. keep going, ignore the dumb FG. Now if Akpabio will push through bills that will favour Akwa Ibom and Nigerians that will be great. |
obinnashady:more like tribal war... |
Thunderlicious:well, there is a topic on this forum which as suggests that IQ results is response for the slow development of African countries and suggest selective breeding as the solution. This is essentially a counter argument to that position, because that idea is a core argument for racist supremacist in the west, and the corner stone ideology - amongst other things - of Nazism. |
I disagree, IQ test has little to do with the development of this countries... the explanation of the slow development in countries as result of IQ's reflects a lack of understanding of the factors which are relevant for development. IQ results are a function of the development and not vice-versa. Most of the problems that have faced African countries have little to do with the intelligence level and more to do with the inherent divisions between the ethnicities within Africa and individual interest. Africans are now finding their national identities, because their identities were broken down and reconstructed abstractly. Therefore, what has obstructed development in Africa is a lack of sustained periods of peace, As peace gradually returns to African countries, development follows as, it is evident that some of the fastest developing economies in recent years as been in Africa. OAM4J, Mynd44, push this to the fp, to help educate Nigerians about the truth and prevent them from falling prey to this ideologies that seek foster inferiority complex among sub-Saharan Africans and diminish their potential. For those who do not understand this topic, |
