Nigeria: China to Build Rice Mill Factory in A/Ibom

Uyo — Chinese investors have indicated interest to establish an integrated state-of-the-art rice mill in Akwa Ibom as a means of boosting rice production.

The Chairman of Heilongjiang Hegang Sanjiang Plain Rice Group, Heilongjiang, China, Mr. Wang Jingxin stated this when the delegation paid a courtesy visit on the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural resources, Dr. Nathan Matthew Ekaette in his office in Uyo.

Mr. Jingxin, accompanied by the Consular-General of Nigerian Embassy in China, Ambassador Ali Ocheni, the Trade Commissioner in the Embassy, Mr. A. Agboluaje hinted of plans to set up a rice research institute in the state to boost rice production.

In his remark, commissioner of agriculture Ekaette assured the team of government preparedness to support them through the provision of enabling environment.

I would love to build with wood too, and I've looked into it somewhat. However, finding wood that is not warped is very very difficult in Nigeria. If you find it, it's also extremely expensive. We don't have enough people who understand how to build well with wood so it deals with the contraction and expansion of the changing seasons (hot, humid, cold, dry). I admire that the OP is using wood for the sidings... I'm curious to see how it will wear with time...

A lot of us in the construction/properties section have long been wishing for alternative methods of building, apart from the usual concrete blocks, and this is a valuable learning experience. It may not have all what we wished for, but it's a very welcome alternative.

OP: where did you get those wood 2x4s you're using as siding for the building and flower beds? Looks nice and straight?

you are right, the way this kind structures are built in other parts of the world is faster, concrete blocks are quite unnecessary sometimes. I suppose some innovative solutions from locally available resources that is cost effective is always welcomed. However, I will be interested to know the average cost for these relative to other methods within Nigeria and in other countries.

It is sad, because Nigerians don't see that Nigeria is not truly independent because we are not economically independent and self sufficient. We blame everything on corrupt leaders, we don't consider that organisations like the IMF and World Bank has manipulated African governments, the CIA has caused coups across the Africa, and like wiki-leaks released they have spies in every level of Nigerian government, therefore they are indirectly ruling Nigeria.

Nigeria doesn't have to chase out whites but ensure that they have no power to manipulate the government and in any deal should consider the interest of all Nigerians. Because white people play on tribal divisions in african country and uses it to indirectly rule them today, just like in the colonial era.

You have to admit that the IMF doesn't really have a good track record especially in african countries and everyone is admittedly not welcoming of them. Across Africa countries that are looking towards China instead of the west are seeing massive infrastructural growths, check out Rwanda, Angola and Ethiopia. Especially "Angola" they have built new cities across the country and created 1 million new homes in just 5 years, very impressive.

Honestly, I think Nigerians should be taught about Neo-colonialism in primary and secondary schools and it effects across Africa.
Also, Nigeria must develop a stronger military and security capabilities. Also, Nigeria should create a well funded engineering company that employs the best and brightest Africans or West Africans and slowly push out the western companies that have existed since the colonial era. Push them out from Nigeria and West Africa and even eventually across other african countries because somebody has to take the lead and protect African Interest. They self appointed "Peacekeepers and Aid givers" across Africa, don't really care for the inhabitants of africa, just what is under the solid.

Some people even say Boko Haram is a product of CIA trying to destabilize Nigeria and Force Nigeria into debt again, their argument is that France which are obviously in Cameroon, Niger and Chad, where responsible for providing the Expertise of building bombs to this Akobi's within Boko Haram. In truth, if you have ever met and illiterate Aboki in Nigeria, you would know that they could not come up with this bomb expertise on their own. And in did wikileaks also realised that shell has spies all over Nigerian Government, I think Jonathan eventually discovered this and that is why he cancelled the annual US and Nigeria trainings and perhaps Ex-Nsa is the prime suspect for Buhari.
