Technical partners from China, Pakistan and India have arrived Akwa Ibom State to conclude arrangement for the take-off of a Meter Manufacturing Company, Metering Solutions Manufacturing Services Limited (MSMSL) which ground breaking was performed last year December at Awa – Iman, Onna Local Government Area.

Interacting with Government House correspondents after a brief meeting with the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, at Government House, Uyo, the Spokesperson to the Metering Manufacturing plant, Mr. Zhang Loohang, said that the company which has just arrived Africa is cited in Akwa Ibom because of its strategic location in the Gulf of Guinea and attributed its establishment to the passion for making electricity available and affordable in the state by Governor Udom Emmanuel stating that electricity holds the key to industralisation which the State Governor seeks to put in place for his people.

Mr. Loohang explained that Metering Solutions Manufacturing Services Limited is a conglomerate of several companies which would partner to proffer solution to problems arising from electricity generation and distribution.

He added that the company, when operational, will produce single phase and three phase electricity meters in various configurations and mountings, light weight, slim skeletal, compact meters for pole top installation, prepayment type meters, split type electricity meters, standard one unit electricity meters, bulk electricity meters, maximum demand meters and smart electricity meters.
The company which he said, is designed as a high technology hub for production, testing and servicing of electricity Meters and allied products has room for expansion in a modular fashion for additional production lines to develop and assemble various models of electricity meters and accessories.

He assured that the Firm would help electricity distribution companies to check theft, nonpayment, unreliable billing, consumer resistance, lost of revenue,and also ensure availability of Nigeria-based products which are of high quality and accessible to its customers, in addition to creating High Tech, non oil related employment thereby making a strong contribution to economic uplift of the region.

Also, the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem, noted that the meeting has lend credence to the viability of the project and assured that the first product would hit the market in the first quarter of the year.

The Investment Commissioner said that first batch of the employees would be sent to China and Pakistan for training on the operations of the industry, adding that arrangements have been concluded for industries which ground breaking were performed last year to commence construction and lauded the visionary leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel whom he said has lived up to his new name, Mr Industrialisation.

Has any Nigerian seen the latest episode of Family guy? "Scammed Yankees" where they represent Nigeria as a dusty wars ridden place... The Western propaganda against Nigeria is on... Every other place in the world is represented with distinctive architecture that is true to that region but Nigeria and Africa is always represented as dumb and false... I know some Nigerians will thing this is not a big deal but we need to project a better image of Nigeria, people seeking to keep us down will keep trying to portray a rubbish image of us, before you know western countries will be everywhere is Nigeria claiming they are bringing "aid", but rather they are stealing our money and subjugating our people. Just like they seem to have done is every African country that has shown potential. I hope Nigerian politicians are watching OO!, planning a strategy out of this western attacks, instead of fighting among themselves, otherwise Nigeria will inevitably become a failed state. huh

The Lassa virus is a member of the virus family, and it is zoonotic or animal-borne in nature. Lassa fever, Ebola fever and Marburg fever are similar in characteristics and members of the Arenaviridae virus family.

They are classified as haemorrhagic fevers, because they cause severe haemorrhaging in victims. Though 80 per cent of infections elicit no symptoms, if they do occur, they can be quite nasty. Starting with a fever, this can develop into chest pain, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Lagos, Jan 9 (IANS) The toll in the Lassa fever outbreak in Nigeria has risen to 40, the government said.

Casualties were recorded in 10 states of the country, Xinhua quoted Minister of Health Isaac Adewole as saying on Friday.

Adewole advised communities to improve their hygiene, including food hygiene and food protection practices.

1. Since the creation of Rivers state in 1967(48years ago), Ijaws has only ruled for 5years and 20months as elected Governor. The Ndonis had 8years and the Ikwerre is having 8years and counting.

2. In Delta and old Bendel states, no Ijaw man has ever been Governor.

3. In Ondo state (where Ijaw is minority), no time has anyone picked arms against the Yorubas for governorship stool.

4. In Akwa Ibom state, no Ijaw has been elected Governor.

We are more comfortable with ethnic unity than governorship. In fact, even the Presidency, it wasn't all Ijaws that backed Jonathan. Yet, someone is talking about dominance. However, in the fraud called Eastern region, the Igbos collected everything without a space for ethnic minorities. Who wanted to dominate Nigeria by abolishing regionalism? Who wanted to dominate the South South by declaring Biafra(and was severly dealt with)? Who invaded Midwest, sack the Governor and installed an Iboman?

If we talk they will say "barcanista hate igbo"

what the F is Ijaw suppose to do in Akwa Ibom, there only Ijaw welcomed in Akwa Ibom is my GF. wink

International hacktivist group Anonymous has targeted a number of official Nigerian government websites as part of an operation to weed out corruption and tackle poverty in the country.
Known for previous attacks on religious organizations, political figures and terrorists, the hacking collective issued a call for followers to “take out” Nigerian government websites.

Posting on Twitter, the secretive group threatened to leak data unless “selfish politicians” address widespread corruption, rising unemployment and problems with healthcare.

The statement referenced allegations of stolen oil money and missing public funds as reasons for the Operation Nigeria hack.

“Let them see that we have Anonymous Nigeria,” the group said, “... Let them know we are anonymous, we are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget, they should have expected us.”

On Friday, images showing websites belonging to the Nigerian state being tampered with, including the Federal Ministry of Justice, Customs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were published online.

It follows another hacking operation, which targeted 14 Thai police websites.

In a video Anonymous accused Thai authorities of “scapegoating” two Burmese migrant workers sentenced to death for the murder of two British backpackers.

This is a man that was always sleeping at the Senate Chambers through his tenure as Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East. His impact was not seen throughout his 4 year-tenure. He was unable to attract meaningful project to his ward not to talk of the state. His grievance is that His Excellency Chief Dr Godswill Akpabio was freely nominated by his party (the PDP) to represent them since they did not benefit from Senator Aloysius representation.

Before they deceive you ask the following questions:

Let us look at the political arrangement in Akwa Ibom State and why Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel was elected the governor of the state
1. Akwa Ibom State as we all know is made up of 3 senatorial districts namely; Uyo, Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial District.
2. Uyo and Ikot Ekpene have had their turn through His Excellency Arch Obong Victor Bassey Attah who served for 8 years and His Excellency Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio who also served 8 years. They both contributed to the development of the state.
3. Eket Senatorial District did support both Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts throughout their 16 years in power.
4. Eket Senatorial District contributes 90% of the resources used in the development of the state without benefitting much in terms of infrastructures.

The Selfish politicians in the state who are leaving the ruling party in the state (PDP) to opposition party (APC) because others are given opportunity to contribute their own quota to the development of the state.
We bring to you the various positions they’ve held while they were in PDP and their contribution(s).

1. Senator Ita Enang:
Positions
(i) Councilor -1987
(ii) State House of Assembly – 1992
(iii) House of Representatives – 1999-2011.
(iv) North East Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State – 2011 – 2015
This is the same man that Senator Godswill Akpabio stood his ground and make sure he became a Senator in 2011, but as now turn against Akpabio and PDP simply because his brother from another mother was nominated and elected by his party (the PDP) to represent the people of Uyo Senatorial District. He has been in elective positive since 1992 to 2015. Let others contribute to the development of the state please.

2. Senator Aloysius Etok
Position
1. House of Representatives – 1992 – 1993
2. Senator – 2011 – 2015

This is one man who was and is still power drunk till today. Remember him! He was impeached as the Speaker because he was having issues with members of the state assembly because of his selfish interest.
His grievance is that his former aide was given opportunity to serve as the current transition chairman of his local government area (Ibiono Ibom). He is always full of himself.

Eseme Eyibio
House of Representatives 2007 – 2011
He was a good orator during his time at the Lower Chamber of the national assembly, but did not empower his people and did not attract federal government presence to the state. He is a fair weather politician.

Ekpeowo Ekpo
Chairman Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area 2011 – 2015
He was nominated and elected on the platform of the PDP to oversee the affairs of Ibesikpo Asutan not because he was the best among other contenders or that the previous chairman that was there before him was not performing, but justice, fairness and justice, he was given the opportunity.
The only time he did his empowerment programme was when the legislative arm of the council wanted to impeached him because of cross misconduct and abuse of office. He did this to earn the sympathy of the unsuspecting public. Of course he was served by the intervention of Honourable Uwem Ita Etuk, the political leader of the area.
His grievance is that his brother from other mother was given the opportunity to chair the transition committee. Note: Transition Committee last for 3 month but can be extended by the state house to last for 6 months. Is this something that somebody who had serve for 3 years should be angry about and decamp to opposition party in the state?

only akwa ibom people are happy about developments in the state people from outside avoid the development threads of the state, but if we say APC in Akwa Ibom there show up and comments about how APC is the holiest party and with politicians better than Jesus that are going to turn Akwa Ibom into Dubai in 4 years, It really annoys me because stupid partisan politics should not stop Nigerian from seeing and supporting positive developments irrespective of party. Life is all about individuals. Nigeria is SAD!

I think there is a pattern across Nigerian history the SW usually betrays the other parts of the south based on tribalism. tribalism is such an integral part of Nigeria and it is never likely to change that's way we need greater regional autonomy within the states, If Nigeria had been divided then the component parts work have been developed faster in my opinion. This audio is quite interesting but we must not forget to ask who recorded it, an what is their agenda behind the recording and therefore the authenticity maybe dubious.
