As soon as Canadian sniper 'Wali' arrived in Ukraine to fight off the Russians, the invaders knew they needed to flex that propaganda arm in order to get fear out of their soldiers. A soldier as accomplished as him can make a huge difference against Russia, especially against less experienced soldiers who are not willing to go to war. There was a report about 'Wali' not even lasting a single day of combat but this rumor was completely debunked on Tuesday by the man himself. Global News journalist Ashleigh Stewart from Canada managed to find the Canadian war hero and got an interview from him that decribes everything he has experienced since he arrived in the country to fight Russians. As it turns out, 'Wali' didn't perish, he just went dark for security reasons.

Gerard Pique's partner Shakira says the Catalan defender is the best centre-back in the world, following Barcelona's 4-0 win in El Clasico on Sunday.Pique has struggled with his form this season, but played a key role to keep a clean sheet for Barcelona against Real Madrid on a special night at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.Gerard won't let me say these things publicly," started Shakira in a post on Instagram. "But, only he with his heroism can play like this, overcoming any injury or pain and always giving his best. "It's not because he's my husband, but he's the best centre back in the world."

Chelsea might not be the only team to be sanctioned by the UK government as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.Manchester City are now in the spotlight due to a meeting between their owner Sheikh Mansour and Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.According to the BBC, the UK government has been extremely critical of City owner Mansour for recently meeting with Putin-ally Assad. "It is the UK's firm belief that - in the absence of a change in behaviour by the Syrian regime - strengthening ties undermines the prospect of a lasting and inclusive peace in Syria," the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) told the Athletic. At a time when political tensions are having consequences in the Premier League, City could follow in Chelsea's footsteps. The government recently froze the assets of Blues owner Roman Abramovich and have prevented the sale of the club and any transfers.

Every single English Premier League football team is showing solidarity with Ukraine and rightly so. We all must stand with Ukrainians. But, what about magnificent Mesut Ozil, who was forced to end his Arsenal career and leave England for calling out China’s brutalities against its Uighur minority in Xinjiang. Doesn’t Ozil deserve an apology or your support for human rights is valid only when victims are white and Europeans? Introspect!!
