Sea snakes are spectacular and mysterious sea creatures often very hard to find. They are restricted to coastal areas of the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific Ocean. With laterally compressed bodies and paddle-like tails, they are often mistaken for eels. But sea snakes are actually highly venomous snakes found in aquatic environments for most or all of their lives.

Despite their marine adaptations, most sea snakes prefer to inhabit shallow waters near land, around islands, and sheltered waters. Closely related to the Australian venomous terrestrial snakes in the family Elapidae, Sea snakes are classified into two broad subfamilies. True sea snakes (subfamily Hydrophiinae) and the more primitive sea kraits (subfamily Laticudinae).

The majority of adult sea snake species grow to be between 4 feet and 5 feet in length. The largest sea snake, Hydrophis spiralis, reaches a maximum length of 10 ft (3m) – one of the largest snake species in the world! Sea snakes have the most potent venom of all snakes in the world. Though the majority of sea snake species have gentle dispositions, some aggressive sea snake species are more irritable, and capable of killing an adult human in less than 30 minutes.

Former striker Igor Belanov, who won the 1986 Ballon d'Or, has joined Ukraine's military forces in his bid to help his country following Russia's invasion.
Belanov won eight titles at Dynamo Kiev, having also played for Borussia Moenchengladbach and Eintracht Braunschweig in the 1980s and 1990s.

Currently aged 61, one of three Ukrainian players to win the Ballon d'Or, along with Oleh Blokhin (1975) and Andriy Shevchenko (2004), Belanov has joined the army to protect Ukraine.

The former striker met with the president of the Ukrainian Football Association, Andriy Pavelko, after the latter visited his hometown of Odessa last Wednesday. The two men talked with various military groups and handed out aid and gifts.

Belanov posted a series of images of himself holding a gun and posing with other soldiers, taking to Facebook to praise Ukraine's armed forces.

Gunmen on Thursday killed the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja, Adamu Aliyu.

Aliyu was said to have been killed alongside four others near Daku village in Dobi ward of the council on Thursday.

The Nation learnt three persons were abducted while three others who sustained gunshot wounds.

Confirming the incident to The Nation, MACBAN secretary, Mohammed Usman said the late MACBAN chairman with six others were returning from Izom market in Niger State when he was attacked by gunmen.

Cross-dressing Bill: I'm Now A Woman, Bobrisky Declares

Popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has revealed that he is now a woman, having done irreversible surgeries.

Bobrisky, on his Instagram page, told his followers that he's not a cross-dresser but he now identifies as a woman.

He said, “I’m not a cross-dresser, I’m a woman. Have done many surgeries that can’t be reversed such as lipo, boobs etc... When the time comes even court self go confirm as(sic) say I’m now a girl.”

This is coming days after the House of Representatives deliberated on a bill seeking to prohibit cross-dressing in Nigeria.
