[quote author=Joebie post=68008660]That's why I've been asking questions. Nwakali in top 35 is a no no.. These players have to earn their ratings based on club performance.. Now more questions, was Usman, Eduok and the other two also in the top 35? Rohr definitely has some sentimental people around him.

[/quote

I think we are reading too much meanings into Rhor's response to d press about Nwakali. This man is very diplomatic in responding to questions and u must be on d same page to understand some of his comments. Firstly Rhor did not invite d team B against A.madrid but Salusi did. All d players that are in Rhor's WC program has been invited at one point and some got dropped along d line including promising players like Chidi Nwakali, Victor Oshimen, Musa Mohamed, Emma Daniel etc. D newest inclusions to d team are d ones that performed extremely well towards d end of d season and Nwakali did not fall into that Category. So l believe that Rhor was trying to claim a vast knowledge of Nigerian players, but having untested and unproven player in his 35man list that should be submitted to Fifa for WC can not be a reality from a conservative coach like Rhor. This man has been fair in selecting our best legs. He has listening ear to recommendations but he knows exactly what he want in a player and does not need many games to identify a player with d quality he needs. Lets support this team

I sympathize with Simon Moses. He really deserve to be in Russia. Maybe his enemies and those journalists writing trash about him should be satisfied now. Meanwhile Etebo should be his best replacement for d LW position for now. Etebo played d LW position at d Olympics and was very dangerous there. He has no business in d middle of d field for d SE, LW should be d best position to utilize his energy, defensive n attacking abilities. But if we need a winger that offers something different, then Onyekuru should be invited if he's fully fit. As for Musa, we know he cant start any match, we also know he cant make any positive difference from d bench yet nobody is talking about dropping him.

You are clearly misrepresenting the facts.

Kelechi does not train with Ozil, Sanchez and Ramsey.

He is playing in the Eerste Divisie 2nd tier of Dutch football. It is low and what's more concerning is he is not the stand out player in that low league.

He is currently just an Arsenal player on paper, a mere speculative business transaction that may possibly. yield some dividend.

Unfortunately there is a continous trend for reasons unknown to give former Nigerian youth players irrespective of current progression opportunities in the SE to the detriment of far better performing players.

Nobody should talk down on Kayode's potential because of Forgiveness. Majority of us here were disappointed that he didnt make the list. Personally i felt for him and Onyekuru because they really fought hard to make it but Nigeria has many options in the attacking department. We must recommend Rhor for helping our players (bench warmers) change to new clubs and get game time before now. We must also commend him for selecting the best we have without favouritism. This is d fairest selection we've had in a long while and we should all drop sentiments and support this team.
I am only afraid that about 5 of our players are still injured or recuperating few days to the world cup. Balogoun, Ndidi, Ebuehi, Joel Obi and Etebo. l therefore call on all SE fans to remember this players in their prayers that God would grant them a speedy recovery.

Better than any winger we have except Victor Moses. I wish someone in NFF should put away sentiments and watch this guy closely.

Your point is very clear and understandable. Being d same kind of player does not mean being in d same class. Again we should stop berating a player because of d league or club he plays. Its good to play in a big club but not every player has d opportunity. There are Nigerian players that are better than Dembele that didnt make it to Europe. If a player like lwobi is not related to Okocha and plays for a lower league like Israel am sure he wont be anywhere near SE.

If you can not drive your interest without making your tribal sentiments obvious to everybody, then you maybe educated but definitely not intelligent.
Is the NFF chairman an igbo man? Is his vice (Akunwumi) an igbo man? Is our coach or his vice an igbo man? What is the insecurity all about?
What if the coach or the NFF chairman happens to be igbo?
That we ignore some of these comments for peace to reign should not give some people the sole ticket to tribal e-warrior here. Everybody here belongs to a tribe but SE is not a team of tribe representatives. Let everybody respect himself here

I watched fc Ufa vs CSKA and Sylvester Igboun was actually the player that caught my attention instead of Musa. Am surprised that nobody is talking about that guy here. This guy is very fast, strong, dribbles past defenders with ease, crosses ball well and can shoot with both legs. I think this guy can be another version of VM from the wing And it wont be bad if he's invited among 35 man list to fight for a shirt. he's definitely better than most wingers we parade now.

Cant you see we are saying the same thing, I'm an igbo man and I dont see how is a shame to be influence by a certain people, Lagos which is the commercial hub of Nigeria was influence too. Just like the igbo people influence some part of river state, just like calabar people influence the ohafia and Abiriba people in present day Abia state.

Everyone know God in igbo is CHI and CHUKWU and the benin is OLISE, OLISA or OSA, why does the western Igbo choose to beat names like olisaemeka instead of CHUKWUemeka. If you go to Abiriba or ohafia in Abia they bear name like Obasi which means God in calabar.

I actually did not cause the argument, I was only trying to help in solving the puzzle of the OSAYI guy root,
There you go again. Igbo people influence some part of Rivers. I think you are actually misunderstanding Tribe for state. The indigenous people has lived so many years before the creation of states, the creation of states by the Military Government divides tribes into different states thereby causing a lot of identity crisis in Nigeria today. Are you surprised that there are Igala speaking tribe in Anambra state today? Please dont misunderstand states as boundary for tribes.

My friend calm down, you dont need such hate speech and insult, now to the festival our "Ofala" was influenced by the IGUA festival, you can investigate on that in your spare time.

for the kingship system, the western Igbo practice very similar one with the benin people, where royal family are recognised, I'm sure you've had about the saying "igbo ewe eze" it means igbo dont have kings but it only apply To the heartland igbo area which include the imo, abia and some part of ebonyi.

You tried translating the names I listed which even made you look more confused OLISAdebe you said means God preserve but you forgot to tell us that OLISA is a benin word for God, we all know what igbo call God, and in imo or abia that name should be CHIdebe or CHUKWUdebe.

Bros onitsha was not the only region greatly influence by the great benin empire, present day rivers, delta, bayelsa, ondo, ekiti and even lagos was influence too.

So lets stop derailing this thread, but if you really wanna talk more about it, we could continue probably via WhatsApp
Bro i think you're actually d cause of this debate. How is Olisaeburuwa a Benin word? That imo and abia people dont use d word does not make it a borrowed word. Igbo dialects, cultures and gods differs. You can tell which part of igboland someone is from by his attire and secondly by his dialect and I beleive all these dialects are influenced by d language of their neighbouring tribes, its just vice versa. So dont tell me the tribes that influenced igbo without telling me how igbo influenced them.

Rohr Forcing Nigerian Players To Sign Contracts For World Cup Spots, DW Sports Agency Breaches Fifa Rule

Rohr Forcing Nigerian Players To Sign Contracts For World Cup Spots, DW Sports Agency Breaches Fifa Rule
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr may be involved in some underhand dealings that will jeopardize the chances of the national team performing well at the 2018 World Cup.

The German is imitating Nigeria 1994 World Cup coach Clemens Westerhof, who forced Emmanuel Amuneke to sign for Duisburg and coerced Daniel Amokachi to join Club Brugge over Anderlecht who were also interested in his services.

There are rumours that Rohr has joined forces with DW Sports Management to force Super Eagles players to sign representative agreements with the French-based agency or be omitted from the roster for the World Cup.

It is confirmed that Rohr visited Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon in Russia and Belgium respectively and few months later the two wingers joined the stable of DW Sports Management.

This website can confirm one hundred percent that the Gent winger was financially induced by DW Sports Management before he penned the representation contract and will pocket a percentage of the commission if he joins a new club after leaving Belgium and this is a breach of Fifa's rules banning third parties from influencing the transfer of players.

Bursaspor defender William Troost-Ekong was also approached to join DW Sports Management but he refused their overtures despite Rohr surprisingly handing him the captain's armband against Poland last month in a pre-World Cup friendly.

DW Sports Management also handles the affairs of Henry Onyekuru, Mikel Agu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Brian Idowu and Abdullahi Shehu, bringing the total number of World Cup bound players they manage to seven and counting.

English-based agent Tony Harris influenced the naming of Reuben Gabriel, Michael Uchebo, Ahmed Musa and Uche Nwofor in Nigeria's 2014 World Cup squad and the national team lacked a quality bench in the mundial, they struggled to qualify for the last sixteen before they were eliminated.

In the light of the foregoing, Rohr and DW Sports Management's antics will affect the Super Eagles performance in Russia if they are not cautioned by the Nigerian Federation.

Nobody can argue that bro But i vindicated myself when i said except for a special talent. So any player u can mention falls into that category lol.

tbaba1234:
This is a very weak argument... There is no magical age for the WC... The best teams have a mixture of youth and experience. A 22 year old can be more influential to his team than a 29 year old. Joel Campbell was 22 in 2014 and he was costa rica's most influential player.. He is a good player, not necessarily exceptional.

The average age of the Ajax team that won the Champions cup was 23.

Serbia did not beat us because their age bracket is between 25-32... In another setting, that same Nigerian team can beat them.
Which argument are u talking abt. I said "left for me" meaning if am in control of things that the best age for WC shud b 24 n above....You also repeated what I said that the mixture of youth and experience would give us d balance we need.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Farzat:
This issue of our players age debate should be checkmated. Whenever d age of our player is mentioned there's always a debate of d player being Older than his age. Criticising the form of a player is part of d game but we should stop embarrassing them to the outside world because many foreigners and journalists visits this thread. Pls lets take the right attitude to protect our image that has been so wonderful.

For me, the right age for WC should be 24 and above, except for a special talent like Mbape. Any average player below 24 should be playing in U23 competitions, Team B, Olympics and stuffs like that. Check out d age bracket of d Brazilian team that beat Germany in their last friendly match, check out the age bracket of the Serbian team that just beat us, their age bracket is between 25-32 and that should be d right age for WC.

There wont be any trophy for parading d youngest team In Russia, experience and Youth should be mixed to give us the right balance. Look at how ordinary our team looks whenever Mikel is not playing, this same Mikel would find it difficult to make the first team of other teams going to d WC.

Also this so much emphasis on league than players performance is nonsense. I just watched Torino vs Inter and I can tell that some Belgian teams can comfortably beat any of those Italian teams. We are one country that lacks what we have in abundance. We have good players in lower ranked leagues across Europe but we will ignore them and start pursuing small small boys that are still learning d rudiments of d game just because they are born abroad.

As for u guys that are bent to display tribal sentiments on this thread, just the same way the Nigerian presidency from one region has not make that region better than other regions. Likewise, having the majority of our team from one region can not make that region better than others. If we can defend Nigeria the way we defend tribe, i can tell that we can rebuild d image of this country by ourselves.

Ejide was very poor in the friendlies leading to the 2014 WC. In the game against Scotland, he appeared to have thrown the ball deliberately into the net.

Do you mean Austin Ejide who was clubless for almost 2-3 seasons before he got a club in the second division of Isreali league is better than Dele Aiyenugba who is playing consistently in the first division of Isreali league for almost 2-3 seasons?
If we are looking for experience, Ejide is more experienced than Ayenugba. That he was inactive for a season does not cancel d fact that he is active and in form now. Playing in 2nd division should not be an issue afterall Ayenugba was also in 2nd division 2 seasons ago. If being in 2nd division is equal to poor quality then u should stop clamouring for Championship players and dont forget that Uzoho is in 3rd division. That we are saving for tomorow does not mean we should starve to death today. Fifa will not give us any trophy for parading d youngest team in d mundial, we must mix experience and youthfulness to get d needed balance.
Ejide's club is on d verge of gaining promotion and he has been one of their standout player. He has years of experience in d Nigerian league, Tunisian league, French league, Israeli league and National team. In addition to his experience, He has good height and composure that could instill confidence in our defenders.

I didnt watch d match against Serbia live, so I was not under any pressure when i watched d replay and my observations are as follows;
1. Serbians has size and physical fitness advantage over us. (You will always struggle when challenging someone bigger than you. E.G d disallowed goal. Awazie was struggling to stop d player from heading d ball but d player was taller and stronger than him)
Advise- We shud not go into physical battle with a team physically stronger than us. Imagine playing 3 DM/Tacklers (Ndidi, Onazi n joel) in such match, u dont expect such match to be free flowing and entertaining. Winning such match can only be by a slim chance as d case of Poland. We must approach such game with a different formation n tactics to outsmart them like our 2nd half approach against Argentina.
2. The Selection. I think d choice of Onazi in front of Awazie is wrong. Onazi is a kind of tackler that moves to wherever ball is available thereby leaving lots of space behind, In any case he misplaces passing, the opponent utilizes d space he left thereby exposing Awazie who is not experienced enough to handle such pressure.
Advise- We should have a commanding CBs that would always call d DM to order or shout on another player to fall back whenever d DM is caught out of position. As for Onazi I think he should be coming in as a late subtitute for maybe a striker whenever we are defending a goal.
3. There are many areas to improve in this team before WC, so i wont be surprised to see any of these players gatecrash d team. 1-Sareren bazee. GR will like to use d NT success of these German breeds to lure others. 2-
Isaac Success. GR likes him. If his form picks, he has edge over Musa and Simon. He can be another version of VM on d left. 3-Austin Ejide. He is d best option to fall back on. He has d experience. No issue with NFF like Enyeama and he has no terrible past working against him like DeleAyenugba. 4-Chinedu Obasi. His move to Bolton is simply to showcase his quality to avoid criticism when invited. He is eager to start playing and we all know what he can do. So dont be surprises that after 2 matches d call for his invitation will start (maybe Mikel's Connection). 5-Onyekuru. This guy wants this WC more than others, its d easiest way for him to return to Everton and so he can do anything to prove himself. If he recovers on time, he will definitely work harder than ever n increase d fan's call for his inclusion.
This remaining 2 months will be very intense for players fighting to be recorgnized and others fighting to retain their place in d team. My prayer is that non of them will be injured and d injured ones would recover quickly.

I doubt that Komekn is a different person from Forgiveness. I took time to read their messages, they have one common interest no matter how much they try to cover it. The tone of their messages and argument is the same. Always on opposition side of every single topic. Always expressing a mindset of insecurity and inferiority complex. Always presenting statistics to pull one player down in promotion of another. Always responding to every comment with questions like " where did u hear me say.....? Answer me this that YES or NO? All these similarities cant be coincidence. But it will be a big shame if its actually one person that is misusing his talent and time to cause nuisance on this beautiful thread.
We should not over emphasize on the importance of comments on nairaland. If Rohr have time to read all these comments, l can bet u that he can never be successful (Those that make news dont really have time to read news)
We have a foreign coach that is giving us good results, lets all support this team and enjoy it while it lasts. If d sentiment of not having your favourite player overshadows d joy of d team victories, what will happen when d team looses?
Taking some issues personal, arguing from morning till night and starting all over again tomorrow might indirectly affect our reasoning and emotional life for nothing. Too much of anything is bad.
Happy new week to everyone.

I watched d match against Colombia live in sao paulo and I can say that Akpeyi's performance affected d whole team because everybody panics whenever ball is coming towards our post.

Kayode Olanrewaju just completed a loan move to Ukrainian side, Shakhtar Donetsk to the end of the season..

OFFICIAL: Shakhtar Donetsk have completed the signing of Olarenwaju "Larry" Kayode (24) from Manchester City on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy. https:///5NeKWiGhVK

That's a good one.

I was not happy he was going to leave Girona-fc for a French struggling team.

Now, I can see this move really shocked those who mocked him here. They thought all was over for him because he was leaving la Liga for a struggling club in France. Chai! grin

Now, Kayode Olanrewaju is in the best position to go to the world Cup if he does well with Shakhtar Donetsk in the league and UEFA Champions League. grin

I can say he is the only Nigerian striker in a better club. The club wey flog Manchester City wey dey flog Arsenal, Leicester City, and all the EPL teams save Chelsea. grin dey even flog Roma wey flog Chelsea. grin

Hahahahahah! Can we say Girona-fc is better than Shakhtar Donetsk, or Malaga and Leicester City better than Shakhtar Donetsk? Bhuuuhahaha!

No wonder dem say he who laughs last laughs best. Make I laugh again. Bhuuuhahaha... Bhuuuhahaha.. Kkkkkkkkkkk.... Hohohohohohohihih! grin

I know some people will be wishing him and Shakhtar Donetsk bad luck for UEFA Champions League but una know.

Anyway, he will not make my list until he proves himself though he did proved himself in Girona-fc and la Liga but I want to raise the bar for him hoping he breaks it.

Which mentality?

Is it the mentality to believe in what people don't believe or believe what people wants me to believe?

If defending Kayode, Solanke, Ajagun and other foreign players is your defination of defending my own then you don't have a case.

Because you should have used your rational to think if these players are worth defending in the first place before you start uttering unreasonable statement devoid of common sense.

So, because you think I am their own I should ignore their talents and performance, and pretend all his well just to seek relevance here.

My friend, where were you when I argued Solanke is a talent when he was nobody at Vitesse?

Where were you when these sets of defamers called me names when I said Kayode is a good striker even before he scored double dig goals at Austrian league for two seasons?

Where were you when I said Ajagun is a consistent AMF just right after hevwas declared surplus to requirement at Panatiakos?

I made cases for these players when they were nothing but I got called names for doing so.

Where are these players now.

Solanke has gone to be best player in the U20 and he is currently playing with Liverpool. Na me defend am go win trophy come join better club.

Na me carry Kayode leg take score double digits goals for two season and win best best player award before he went to Manchester City?

Na me find Ajagun club reach Belgium.

I can't forfeit my judgments neither can i substitute common sense for sentiments just to please mortals. I am sorry, I can't.

It is your duty to check if those players mentioned are doing well instead of displaying your lack of intelligence.

Moreover, who told you I wanted Onyekuru, Iheanacho and Nwakaeme dropped?

I think you're in delusion. Please, wake up.
You argue everyday because you're devoid intelligence n sufficient points to win argument. I don't need to know u in person to know that you're not a successful person and u think everyone here is on d same page with u

forgiveness:
For one to come out and make utterance without facts tell how low in reasoning such person could be.

I can also start accusing you for taking sides because you want to defend your own.

About being jobless. I don't think I am on asylum.
Drop d mentality if defending your own, our own is SE of Nigeria and not tribe. we are talking about Nigerian football here and Nigeria is not made up of 2 tribes. Talk of defending my own, i personally prefer Kayode to Nacho due to my love for pressing strikers. I hate to see Nacho make those elementary first touches that puts his team under pressure whenever he loses d ball. But we have a foreign coach that has invited both of them to camp n observe them closely n choose who he feels that suits his game plan. Pls lets support d coach n respect his decisions.
If others start making list of their favorite players that should be invited based on performance u will find out that u dont have anybody.
U complained when your favorite player is not invited and when he is invited you complain that he is not given a chance. Then i asked myself was d player not given a chance to train with d rest of d team? Note that there are over 50 Nigerian players doing well abroad that has not been invited, some were invited n dropped (Imoh, Esiti, Aaron samuel, Alampasu etc, while some that are always invited are still waiting for an opportunity e.g Ogu, ebuehi, Agbo etc.
You dont even mind if Musa is invited but u dont want to hear that name Nacho, Nwakeme, Onyekuru etc.
Bro with all due respect, i will advise u to drop hate for a tribe because u cant beat it. Free your heart from hate and stop hurting your emotion for something you cant change. I really wonder how you sleep and wake up with d same argument. This is 2018, I am sincerely expecting u to change and support our dear SE so u can celebrate and be happy with others when we will be winning in Russia.

How old is this Forgiveness actually? I always regard his comments as one of those jobless youths that has made nairaland an uninteresting forum. People that has nothing positive to offer but only reasoning everthing through tribal perspective. Why has he refused to drop this particular topic of measuring n comparing yoruba players with their ibo counterparts? Is being better than ibo a yardstick of measuring success?
I noticed that whenever he starts throwing a name of player around in his topics, people starts loosing interest in that player and d same player starts losing form E.g Aluko, Aina, Kayode, Raheem Lawal, Ajagun etc.
I think its high time d real elders of this forum call him to order or ban him since he's not making any positive contribution but sowing d seed of division, running our players n coaches down, wishing our dear team failure just to prove a stupid point.
I have been following this thread for a very long time, I am far away from home but this thread keeps me updated with everything happening in Nigerian football.
It's my first time comment and I wish to appreciate u guys for ur insights, analysis n contributions to Nigerian football. Its d best of its kind n source to many foreigners and Nigerians in diaspora. Pls dont allow few individuals to kill our fun. Happy new year to you all.
