Very sad and disheartening. 5 young kids on their way to school this bright monday & a sixth which one would assume is safe, strapped to his mothers's back now killed by the one supposed to bring calm & order

I honestly don't see the relevance of these agberos cos the little chap might have still been alive if not for their presence & as for the police force..their case is a story for another day. RIP kiddos

Yea,so many facts in this piece & yea,we nigerians know all this but what can the ordinary man do about this The usual trend is for us to complain & then conform. Its high time we not only state the obvious but in stating it, profer a solution to it

Channels TV also heightened the hopes of many with that info. So so annoying

If ASUU had made a statement about the 7-days mourning, all this wouldn't have happened. Don't know why they choose to keep everyone in the dark & cause all this raised hopes in the first place

ASUU strike: Union confirms NEC meeting did not hold today

Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye, the chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, in the University of Ibadan, has confirmed that stories which made the rounds on Saturday, that the National Executive Council, NEC, would hold an emergency meeting in Kano, were false.


Ajiboye was speaking in an interview on Diamond FM, University of Ibadan and stated that no meeting was scheduled for today, as they were still in the middle of a seven-day morning, which was declared in honour of the late Professor Festus Iyayi, a former national chairman of the Union.

It would be recalled that Iyayi lost his life in a fatal crash, on his way to Bayero University, Kano, where members of ASUU were to meet and reach a final decision, on whether to continue with the strike or accept the federal government’s offer.

Indeed the Governor's convey is a very reckless one. 2 years in office & 4 accidents already. This should serve as a warning to all those thieves that intimidate & monopolize the roads just because they are passing with convoy.

The man has a valid point. Why not peg jail terms or better still death sentences on our corrupt leaders instead of damaging the lives of young unopprtuned kids
