Thanks a lot, l finally left the starcomms box alone, & configured my phone using MTN. now, hoping to configure etisalat usb modem on my linux machine.

Please, has anyone configured etisalat on any of the linux platform? l wold like to configure one on 9.04.

The phone modem works perfectly on windows, & l have updated the Os, but still gives the same error messages. Afolabi was even surprised that the modem did not work with ubuntu 9.04. so l need advice on what to do.

hi blackweaver, myself & afolabi tried installing it & even googled the ubuntu community. the system did nt detect the modem & keeps showing an error 5 msg. we tried it for abt 2 hrs. sorry, l can't post the error msgs cos' l didn't copy it while, on ubuntu.

just installed ubuntu 9.04 jaunty, but unable to connect to the internet with my Hauwei ETS2558 starcomms 1x phone box.did try configure it with the terminal, bur it keeps coming up with an error 5 msg.l believe dere is something wrong with witk kernel/it's a bug.
need ur help urgently.

O'boy, l virtually agree wit u abt dis starcomms iboost. it has bin cutting off my connection to the Internet, since l installed it on my pc.it is better to mbrowse witout it & enjoy superb connection. Starcomms technicians/engineers nd 2 chk it out.
