I'm a graduate of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, an HND holder in Marine Engineering with an Officer of the watch certificate of competency from NIMASA,currently working as a third Engineer onboard an AHTS Vessel, what I was taught whilst in school has really helped me to achieve my dreams in life..(theoretical and practical doing my Sea phase training after my National diploma)

It's not all about your degree or diploma, it's all about what you want in life.... A common cook and steward onboard a ship are earning more than 200k a month, some AB are earning more than a Branch manager of a financial institution and these are people with only FSLC.

When I first got my ND,most of my friends kinda brag about their B.sc and B.Tech blah blah...seriously I was depressed cos I didn't know what the future had in store for me..But I pressed harder to become a better man...here I am now

Please dis shouldn't be something we should be debating rather we should look for possible ways to work hand in hand with the govt for more funding of polytechnics, mono technics, and universities and how we can make our country a technological-advanced country
