Am not in London. My friend there pays 1800 and over 2000+ when added with bills. But same house here i pay 500 and with bills 600.

Am sure you are less than a year abroad. That’s how it freaks you when you just arrive, but after like 5 years, you will understand the Oyinbos did not make their country for you to have enough to send home, but they only made it for you as a foreigner to work, pay bills and have little or nothing to safe. And if you try to beat the system by doing two 8hrs jobs daily, it will tell on your body sooner.

If you’re scouting or sharing apartment with someone and you don’t pay much rent, no utility bills or car insurance, then lucky you. Safe as much as you can because once you start doing those stuff fully on your own, you’ll know whatz up.

Abroad is abroad and Nigeria is Nigeria. Though, obviously abroad especially Western world are far better than Nigeria, but sometimes the way you guys garnish it make it looks like heaven in this world and main while they are not. Many are mislead before leaving Nigeria with sweet stories from people abroad but when they get there and see the reality on ground, they are shocked and it takes many of them years to adapt based on their expectations.

You can't compare European countries to Nigeria.
The leadership failed everyone and people vote based on tribe and heap insult on the losing tribe.

There is still very high demand in health care.
Secondly, we look down on some handiwork yet they pay more than cert eg mechanic work, driver especially taxi. The Nigerian pride will not allow us do taxi job or mechanic. What will I tell home people. I have interviewed these people and honestly, if I had a choice now, I will forget my cert and become a driver. What of rail driver. Do you know that they take home more than band 8 nurse in some units and how many years will it take one to reach band 8? You may never reach 7 not to talk of 8.
Nursing is one of the least paid jobs in uk but readily available. Don't forget that blacks lose their pins for flimsy reasons more than any race every year.

Most time when I come across new immigrants, I usually lecture and advice them cos when uou miss it, it will take time for you to navigate back again and start afresh.

My wife is a nurse and with the NHS. I am the student.. Just graduated and will pursue my career via graduate jobs.

But for now am on this job. U can't tell new immigrants to take up taxi. First they have to learn how to drive if they dont. I guess they must have some years in experience like minimum of 3 years i guess. Lastly they might not have build the credit score to purchase a car because uber here takes recent models of car.

Guy tax is not calculated that way else everyone go dey buy lambogini. U have tax holiday on 12000£ after that U will be taxed 20% of anymore money U make. If U have a second job U will be taxed from 40% or even 50%. If U earn more than 40000£ U pay 40% tax. I made 942£ this week tax was 180£ and NI was 70£. Take home was less than 700£. The more U earn the less U collect

You and your wife can afford this and still have change.
If what you studied is not gonna get you employed, change route provided you don't have paper problem
Eg, you can apply for train driver apprentice training, go through all the tests and enter, once you enter, look for an opening for what you studied as you climb along or better continue as a driver.
It's lots of money and stable job.

Does train gives u sponsorship? Before i scale through to top experienced position that could guarantee u sponsorship time has gone.

So what i should be looking at is job that guarantees sponsorship anythings than that i will remain here. After all i could earn what most government workers earn in a month amd could by far earn what nurses are earning as a mayguard
Most nurses earn 1800 but there are months i work back to back to earn 3000.

Can you afford to rent nice apartment with, swimming pool, hot tub, gym..., drive nice luxury car, in the UK? Go on vacations at least twice a year?
If you want afford these in abroad, your family annual income go be at least $150k.

Before you can comfortably afford all the good things of life for abroad, you must be in a high paying job....
In the US, $100k and below annual income are considered poor, they feed from paycheck to pay heck.

Good things i mean things to make me leave like a human , living a modest lifestyle without depending on others. Being able to cater for family while saving up for my children to secure their future. What allowances? How many people are receiving the minimum wage in Nigeria. Even corp members were not paid last month. Don't deceive yourself, he's doing better than an average Nigerian, fuel price isn't stable in Nigeria. Those with cars can't drive, those driving are driving on a bad road. No tap water, power is irregular and unaffordable.

He goes home with nothing less than £2000 after tax in a month and can conveniently save £500 each month. Not considering those doing 2 jobs in this analysis

Mind you, that's African fish imported into the UK. Their home grown food and fruits are cheaper.

Your wife also came with certs that are not needed.

The mistake most of u make is coming to uk to stay rubbish courses and expect to be employed with that.
In Nigeria,masters in any engineering courses may be a hot cake but not in uk.
Even in IT, they have Britons, Chinese and Indians to employ first before you as they are huru in that field.

If your wife had come with with health related cert, she will be a hot cake.
Till date, people still make the same mistake. Then turn around and blame the system.

We are very ungrateful bunch when we don't have our way.
And even if you and your wife are working in warehouse, u can still pay your bill and navigate your way around.
I guess the pick money on the street syndrome or else lose hope affected you.

My brother i understands what he is saying. A lot of people last year struggled and couldn't meet their fees deadline. Study route is all about money.

U see guys crying why they stepped out and everyone running here and there for jobs. Omo it was not funny at all. I was scared at some point not to lose my kids because the rent money became an issues at some points. Because when u can't provide for your kids who are minors the government will take them from u.

It only takes the grace of God. Any one that graduate successfully need to thank God because the mental stress alone. They bully from ur school. The portal they shot and u couldn't submit assignment. Etc.

Study route is financial draining, one has to consider soo many things before jumping at it. Most especially when u are putting in everything u have without a backup.

Well a lot of people i have seen around that came 2021 to 2022 actually stood their feet... I mean in UK.
Those that came in 2023 had issues of job and all that but now the market had clear and pick-up again due to the fact that government introduced measures that cut net migration.
I also almost fell into this trap as my funds dried up at some points and thank goodness i was able to secure a job again.
I know people that schools sent back to Nigeria whoc couldn't pay their fees... Funds gone, no certificate japa hope lost and this people sold all they had.

So for now those that were able to enter with dependant from 2021 to 2023 will have a smooth ride.

Only if you have the funds.

The most affordable route is master degree program which last just one year or 2 years with cheaper fees compared to 4 years program.

University will charge u 10k pounds and above for just a year program be it master or Bsc.

Then if its bsc then multiply it times 4.
Amd most universities school fees are from anywhere 12k to 15k average.


Your age is not issue rather funds at disposal.

When i came .... dependent was allowed and was able to work full time. So if u have dependant is a plus

Years ago, when I lived in UK, I lived in my university city which was cheap~ £180 a month
But my salary no pass, £500 a month (part time) + transport + feeding, gas... So money still finish.
I wanted to reduce transport fee to work, so when I graduated and moved to work city.
But, Higher rent, higher gas, higher electricity and visa processing was still there, plus another course fees again to hang on.
Wife came with ALL her certificates, EVERYTHING, dem no gree give her pass factory worker...
We were bleeding money.
So we left, before visa expire and they start showing us on NTA news.

You know the law was changed and until last December last year you could bring ur dependant so i explore that means to get a dependants and which means unlimited hours to work for dependant. With that u can handle bills effectively

That's why one need to study the immigration friendliness of a country. What made me come here is that after graduation i have two years to work.

What you should be worrying about is proof of funds. Cos that Canada you mentioned, you'll need a minimum amount of 25m And that money must be captured in your account when you submit your 6 months bank statement to them.

Once you can scale that hurdle, you'll definitely get the student visa.
