Stop doing permutations, i currently live here and telling you the situation of things. The Draws they are doing nowadays are selective, not everyone is doing healthcare or tech, not everyone can write or speak French, not everyone can afford 30k cad to buy LMIa to boost express entry score . My messages goes to those people. It’s really hard here now. Do not go by what people who don’t live here says or using google to do research, listen to those who live here. 70 percent of these students falls in these categories, now what is their hope of staying back after spending over 60k cad to study here. The Canadian government stopped canada experience class draw since 2021 which was what the students relied on to get PR. Thank you for your insights. What is ur current situation in Canada? I have been accepted to Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Moose Jaw for the January term of 2024, and I intend to travel to Canada by next month, December. I understand that you want to inform people about the struggles that is prevalent in CAD now and warn people to be aware of them/it. However, it will be better you always balance your intervention, tell us the bad and also the good, because as bad CAD is now, 9ja is unfortunately worse. There is simply no comparision between the two locations. The only way you "enjoy" 9ja now is if you are EXTREMELY WEALTHY" and/or connected to a top politician. How many people have these connections?
Besides, Thousands of people are still moving from India to Canada despite all the issues in Canada, the issues does not deter them at all, infact when they get to Canada, they start trying to bring ALL their relatives/friends over. They full Japa industries in India, where you have Banks (who give them educational loans), consultants, diplomats involved in getting people to travel out to Canada and other countries like Aus, NZ, UK and US. That is what we expect you and our other brothers and sisters already there to be doing, giving advices on how new people can navigate, creating communities' to help others to come over, etc.
The situation in 9ja now is dicey, things are not rosy, and for most people they will rather face the struggle in a society where things will change for the better if you keep your head down and work hard/smart than struggle in 9ja where there is no hope of redemption.
Our communities in Canada should be encouraged to grow to be as powerful as the Indian community, why do you think the changes that were recently announced by Marc were made, cos the issues were affecting the Indian community, if that fake LOA issues had originated from Nigeria, what do you think IRCC and CBSA will do? They would have probably increased our SP rejectionrate to 99%.
See what Prof Christian did sometime late last year/early this year, he and others took the establishment to account and told them they were discriminating blacks like us from coming, that the rejection rates were too high for flimsy reasons.
So please what I want to beg you to do is show us the way since you are there already. Like telling us " Guys things no too balm for CAD now, abeg when una dey come hold money to cater for yourself before you see work". Something like this.
Finally, please know that the more Nigerians you have over there the more you gain respect and power because a bunch of broomsticks tied together is stronger than a single stick.

The scamming is worst now , many experienced it many years ago. Now the India graduate students on PGWP about to expire have no choice than to go back to their country after studying here and spent over 60k cad. Government have no plans to extend anymore. They have refused to do Canadian experience class CEC draw. Many who are in EE pool can’t make 500 Crs score.
Only Canadian government benefits on the long run. Students are cashcow. Plan your journey and know what to expect before making that move. It’s a game of Chance. Wow! This is scary! So u’re saying there’s no likelihood of getting PR after 2yrs of study and 3yrs PGWP? Wow! The main reason people are going to school is to get to stay back. Nobody wants to spend their life savings and at the end of the day come back to Nigeria. That would be disastrous. All dese scary news is what’s making me think twice about going to Canada via these study route. My job is Nigeria is not a bad one. At least I make about 500k a month. My program is for one year; the total tuition is $20,000 and I’ve paid $10,000 and it’s starting Jan 2024 I’ve reached out to my school if I can split the payment for me and they’re kind of insisting that I have to pay the tuition balance before the start of my program in Jan. If I can even get a job instantly it would be nice. Cos even the news I’m seeing all over SM is not helping. Of people looking for jobs and can’t find and it would be disastrous being stranded in a new country |

So I got approval for study permit; it has also been stamped on my passport.
Now I don’t want to proceed for the study anymore reason being that the spike in exchange rate has messed me up.
I have paid $10,000 tuition which is non refundable except if your visa is denied.
Please guys, as they’ve already approved my visa, is there a way to email IRCC for them to revoke the visa approval so I can get my tuition deposit back.
The money I have left cannot cover my balance of tuition which is $10,000 not to talk of accommodation and living expenses. |

They just changed their rates recently; I think last week. Prior to that it was at bank rate now it’s black market rate ☹️ |

If the primary applicant has been granted the visa, the chances of getting the SOWP is almost 90% so long as you provide the required POF, proof of relationship with the primary application, do not misrepresent, demonstrate your work experience, etc.
A successful primary applicant means he/she has already proven to have strong hometies and as a spouse, your stay in Canada is technically tied to the primary applicant. However, I still included some of the hometies my wife used e.g. properties, job in Nigeria, parents/siblings back home etc...
Also, I used my portal.
